He had one bad inning and Alvarado was worse in that inning than he was.

Nola: 0 outs, 3 ER, started with 9 hitter

Avalrado: 3 outs, 2 ER, started with 3 hitter and bases loaded.

Cmon.  Nola was bad, really bad.

Alvarado's probably never pitched in that situation before... in the playoffs, let alone world series.

I’m thinking Topper said, "go out there and plunk Pedro Cerrano.”

He might be sick or cold. Saw him blowing his nose earlier.

Been every game.

Part of the responsibility of a starting pitcher is a gracious, controlled exit as the pitch count goes up…not loading up the team on a bus and driving it off the highest cliff you can find.

The way their talking Javier up, we should just hand him the 2023 Cy Young now

6 no hit innings in a WS game. He deserves all the praise he’s getting.

I wish Ranger could start every game remaining.

Especially with the :phil: lineup at home.

If you could only have one who would you like to win it all this year? Eagles or Phillies?

Why does Dusty Baker wear gloves that look like he's working a BBQ pit and getting ready to tear a pig apart?

His wife said it’s a Covid precautionary measure.

There is a huge gap between 8 shutout innings and 4 IP, 3ER, a lot of hard outs, and that kind of exit.

It was back to back to back bad starts from him.

There shouldn’t be any scapegoats in a miraculous run like this, but if there is, it’ll be Nola.

The raw numbers don’t really hold much value, in the context of the game he had a good start tonight. And I’ve always hated how pitchers get charged earned runs when they don’t give up the hits that let the runs score, it’s totally illogical. It should always go to the pitcher who allowed the hit that let the runs score. Or split it between both pitchers.

Scapegoating Nola would be so stupid.

He loaded the bases without getting a single out.  If that’s not earning runs…

I don't wanna scapegoat Nola, the Phillies bats haven't done ish.

Yeah but he throws it 20% of the time. And the K’s have been mainly on his 94 MPH fastball.

I have to go Eagles, but I want both damn it.

He didn’t give up the hits that allowed them to score. So explain to me that logic. It’s never made any sense. Alvarado hit the first batter and somehow that’s Nola’s fault.

And good offenses will load the bases, it happens. One bad inning does not make for a bad start, it’s why raw numbers in baseball are virtually meaningless. For example, a pitcher could have a no hitter going through 6, give up two bloop infield singles and throw one bad pitch for a home run and the "raw numbers” will show 6 innings 3 earned runs, which is an average start. But one bad pitch by no means is an average  start.

Tonight he looked good as far as I’m concerned.

Well hopefully they can see Abreu's release point.

Just saying his last 3 starts were not good. Can’t get just 12 outs of nola. This series he got 25 outs in two starts and gave up 8 ER. Also he was fortunate to get out of the 4th inning unscathed.

Respectfully, if you thought Nola looked good tonight, then one of us needs to check what was in our drink this evening.

They’ve been awful tonight. Bad swings and approaches.
