  • Perfect weekend for me. I got to make my long time soul mate my wife officially. And I got a eagles win today. Life is good.

I gotta say, I did not have "arguing that Aaron Nola is clutch and the best pitcher ever but they doctor his stats" on my blog bingo card this morning.  He's taken it up the cornpipe with a spiked bat his last three postseason starts :roll: That is the EXACT opposite of clutch.

I can't even handle the clutch and dominance we've seen :roll:

Of course I say that and now my mind starts to drift to Joe Webb…

I watched him all year, he was awful. Just terrible. And they doctor stats all the time. I know a lot of people in the stat industry and this happens all the time.

For example did you know last year, Nola’s ERA was actually 2.20, but they doctored it to put it in the 4’s because they wanted him to look bad because they dubbed him an anti-vaxxer?

You can’t trust these stat sites, so many are total fake news.

Real quick - is the earth flat or round?

It’ll be interesting how the run defense holds up tonight. We weren’t particularly good at defending the run even with Davis’ snaps, so how will it look without his help? The Texans have no WRs worth mentioning if Cooks is out. We’re going to see a bunch of TEs with a fullback on the field. That shouldn’t lead to many points, but it could be a blueprint for teams like the Colts, Titans and Packers coming up.

The Texans passing game is non-existent, load up the box and force Mills to beat you with his arm. The question is can this Texans defense hold the Eagles to a tight game in order to continue running the ball?

And here we go......Jalen heads back to his hometown in this Texas Showdown.  Tonight is the Philadelphia V Houston Double Header.  Eagles take on Texans, Phillies take on Astros in game 5 of the World Series.  Let's hope for a double Philly Win tonight.  The Eagles are the better team.  Not just on paper but in actual performance.   The Texans have kept things close in some games but in others they just haven't performed well.  The Birds are coming off a short week after their dominating performance against the Steelers.    Though this game is on the road, The Birds are just better on Offense and Defense.  I believe they take care business and advance to 8-0.  I also expect some more running game today along with that high flying air attack.  So I could see some big points in this game.   The Texans have a lot of injuries and backup players playing tonight.    They are clearly in the #1 draft pick race and the Birds will definitely help them get there.   Eagles continue rolling and make Eagles history going 8-0.

BIRDS - 41

Texans - 16

Jalen - Rush TD

Miles - Rush TD

AJ - TD

Devonta - TD

Goedert - TD

Jake FG x 2

Defense:  Sack Party, INT and Fumble recovery.

Doubt we see a 40 burger on TNF. Teams usually come out flat. I would say the Eagles don’t score more than 30 and even that is a lot.

Yeah, I wonder if we play the no big play defense vs a team that can’t really produce them anyway -or- do we key on Pierce and give the CBs more responsibility.

🤔

On a truncated week and given what we’ve seen from Gannon, we’ll take our lumps in the run game and force Mills to matriculate the ball down the field, trusting that our O can score the 21 points required to win a shortened game.

Game Day!

Baldy loves to embellish everything, but still it's wild to see anyone outside the of RTK ask "does anyone throw a deep ball better than Hurts?"

The answer is "yes" of course but shows how far he's come.

Has an nfl game featuring the same cities playing in the World Series happened in the same week before?

That's a bit of a misperception. We just had a 42-34 game on TNF a couple weeks back.

I was told Jalen Hurts is just a poor man's Tyrod Taylor.

Just did some research, according to Elias; it’s happened 7 times. Last time was 2011, rangers vs cardinals, with rams/cowboys the same day

So you don’t understand what the word usually means.

Average score for Thursday games is 45 total points

@LeanMeanGM

Eagles 34

Texans 10

Bonus: Quinn gets a sack

@LeanMeanGM

Pierce will get some yards.  I like Davis Mills but Cook and Dorsett are a bad fit, IMHO.  Watched the Texans game last Sunday. Really looked like neither team wanted to win, especially the Texans.  Eagles should be able to run on them all day long.

Eagles pitch a no hitter.

Eagles 38 Texans 0

Bonus. Marlon T gets a monster stuff on Pierce for a TFL

Not sure if anyone said that guy in the booth as a pitcher they want pitching in the post season but Smoltz was legit back in the day and would be high on my list of who to give the ball to

From last night.

image.png.959800335bdd05b15b8bfbd3d1e04d67.png

Eagles 35, Texans 20

If the Texans are really gonna sit back in soft cover 2 all game, this will look a lot like the Vikings game.

I expect the Texans to get the run game going, but Mills isn't the guy and the talent on that team just doesn't stack up.

Bonus: Sanders career high rushing yards

@LeanMeanGM

This feels like a 35-17 game and it wont be that close

@LeanMeanGM

Eagles 33, Texans 13

Feels like a game where the Eagles are up 20+ points at halftime and play ground-and-pound in the 2nd half.

Bonus -- Eagles are ahead 20+ points at halftime.
