No talking politics here- but, if you think spending BILLIONS of money the government doesn't have (printing Billions) has little to do with inflation, then you should not be allowed to vote.

Not talking politics either.  Talking economics.  Fiscal spending is a drop in the bucket compared to the impact of the Fed.  Over a decade of free money with interest rates low and 8 trillion on the Fed's balance sheet buying mortgage backed securities has much more to do with the overall economy.  Central banks around the world were doing the same thing going into and during the pandemic. Fed Chair Jerome Powell was also chair in the last administration.

In additon to extremely easy monetary policy, supply chains got screwed in the pandemic, Russian energy supplies off the market, Saudis taking oil supply off the market and Ukraine grain supply were all factors that helped lead to too much money chasing too few goods (ie inflation).

Eagles vs Saints week 16, assuming they have everything locked up at that point (first round bye/homefield). Do you play the starters to beat the Saints for the higher draft pick?

No, we let Minshew slice and dice them.

I don't think we will sit starters week 16 and 17.. I'm assuming our guys play that game and sit out the finale vs NYG

I wouldn't pass up the opportunity to grab a blue chip player.  Use the other first rounder to get additional picks.

I think that's especially the case when there are a few elite DE prospects.  I do think there may be an opportunity to trade down one or two picks and make a killing.  If they end up with a top 5 pick and get an offer that includes 3 first round picks to move down to the 10 to 12 range, I think they should do it. Essentially this would be the Miam/Niners trade.  I don't think you make that trade if Will Anderson is on the board.  I think the top 10 is going to be a QB heavy draft.  I think you will see players that might be top 10 in the draft talent wise into the low teens.

I wouldn’t give the starters a month long rest before the playoffs. They play.

OK Coach Concussion Uncle - you need to be more touchy feely to connect to these Gen Z players like Coach Sirianni.

That's why Graham, Cox, Kelce, and Slay are team captains.

Talking about the starters and Minshew, an interesting conversation I had with a couple Eagles fans last night.

This team has quite a few similarities with the 2017 team.

2nd year head coach, 2nd year starting QB, guys on 1 year deals making a major impact, both units playing well and leaning on the running game.

What if this season turned out the same.  Hurts gets hurt down the stretch, Eagles are the #1 seed, and Minshew gets hot and takes us to the promised land.

I know the odds are pretty slim, but it just seems the kind of thing that would happen to the Eagles to stir up a QB controversy.

My question, what would the front office do this time if this scenario played out again ??

Stick with Hurts, unless he somehow starts behaving like Wentz.

Not make the same mistake they made after 2018.

I see them trading away Hurts and bringing back Foles as the starter.

As it should always have been.

The Saints suffered some significant injuries last night. Starting center was on crutches after the game, and Davenport and Werner both left the game with lower leg injuries. Short week for them going to Pitt, Steelers might actually have a good shot at winning this game with TJ coming back. I had the Saints winning this game a few weeks ago, so if they manage to lose this would make up for that win they got over the Raiders.

Watch the stock market rally if/when Republicans win seats, and then come crashing down further after layoffs start.

Probably not. The stock market likes layoffs. Not saying layoffs are good for the country but the stock market likes them. As far as inflation, a classic definition of inflation is "too much money chasing too few goods". I'd say government plays a role there, plus supply chain struggles.

Fletcher Cox easy for Defensive Rookie of the Year.

Gotta think realistically OROY is going to be Pierce or Walker III

Olave and Garrett Wilson will have something to say about this

We'll see how things progress but Walker has been in an absolute tear. Plus I don't trust the Saints or Jets passing offense enough to produce a WR ROY.

Breece Hall would have won without the injury.

Layoffs started in certain industries months ago, i.e. mortgage industry, tech, etc.

Four horse race, with Pierce in the lead thus far...Pierce, Walker, Olave, Wilson. But Walker is gaining ground quickly.

So the Vikings get Miami without Tua and now may get the Bills without Allen.

The disappointment in the end (for skol fans) will be that much greater.
