Interesting. I thought they would hold the spot for Tyree Jackson who only has 7 days left to be activated. I’m not even sure who would be cut for him at this point.

Let's hope this is the beginning of the end for Wallace.  Chachere is a great ST player and should have made the roster ahead of Wallace.  Once Davis comes back Chachere should be on the roster, Wallace can go.

I would agree  - then throw in Goedert

What are the PUP rules?  Once his window is over, do they have to either sign or cut him? Can he be put on IR if they think he isn't ready?  They aren't going to carry 4 TE and who do you cut?

Let's hope the coaches catch wind of this and realizing they are wasting Smith with their nonsense play calls for him.

Sorry, not letting it go!

Who would be #2?

TO and Pinkston, Maclin and Djax, Barnett and Williams.

He stays on IR for the season if he's not activated in the window

Irving Fryar and Chris T Jones (1996), Carmichael and Quick (1983) - not the best but fun combos from yesteryear.

Not talking politics either.  Talking economics.  Fiscal spending is a drop in the bucket compared to the impact of the Fed.  Over a decade of free money with interest rates low and 8 trillion on the Fed's balance sheet buying mortgage backed securities has much more to do the overall economy.  Central banks around the world were doing the same thing going into and during the pandemic. Fed Chair Jerome Powell was also chair in the last administration.

In additon to extremely easy monetary policy, supply chains got screwed in the pandemic, Russian energy supplies off the market, Saudis taking oil supply off the market and Ukraine grain supply were all factors that helped lead to too much money chasing too few goods (ie inflation).

It's not an exact science. During the pandemic, fiscal stimulus was the right policy, along with monetary easing, they may have overshot, but inflation is less onerous than millions out of work with no income for an extended period - note how fast the recovery was despite the COVID drag. Fed and fiscal policymakers couldn't have predicted Putin going insane, but it'll take a couple years to work out inflation as consumers have too much savings and jobs are secure.

Fed isn't going to raise unemployment much due to labor shortages, rather, weakening the labor market will reduce wage hikes, effectively reducing real wages and thus demand for goods.

As world wide supply disruptions ease (shipping costs have dramatically declined) that will also help, but inflation will remain higher due to the pullback in globalization due not just to Putin, but also the realization that Xi is a greater threat, and the need to reduce dependence on China as a supplier. Chinese subsidization of exports drove down world wide inflation, but also exported unemployment. The Chinese labor supply has peaked (one child policy being felt), and the combination of Xi's policies and a real estate bubble collapsing (think 2008 but with massive government subsidies reducing the immediate impact) has probably ended the Chinese growth miracle - they're on their way to becoming a bigger version of Japan, except they'll have less access to advanced technology now that we recognize the threat.

No easy answers, but cutting taxes is definitely the wrong policy. A carbon tax would be a good way to accelerate away from fossil fuels and reduce demand, but that's politically infeasible.

Some issues, like housing, have to be dealt with at the state and local level, as zoning regulations have restricted the supply of land and affordable starter homes (blocking multi-unit development by restricting building to single homes).

Harold Jackson and Ben Hawkins.

Jackson and Maclin might be more talented than Brown/Smith, but I don't think they're better.

Too late, I already voted.

Gov't spending didn't disrupt the supply chain from China, didn't cause Opec and Russia to cut off oil, and didn't cut off grain from Ukraine.

Go Birds!

They were faster but that’s about it in my eyes

I'd say Maclin and DJack.  Sadly, I don't think they even came close to how good they could have been as a duo.  Shame those guys couldn't stay healthy and on the same team for longer.  Maclin was so incredibly smooth mixed with DJack's explosive speed was perfect.  You also wonder if they had consistent QB play how that would have effected things.  Both benefited from out of this world seasons.  2013, DJack had Vick but Maclin was injured.  I can't imagine that offense if both were healthy.  2014, Maclin had Foles and his 27-2 season.

Thanks, I'm guessing they will go that direction.  There's just not room.

Really?  A debate about the source of inflation?  It needn't devolve to politics.

Yup. A dog whistle.

All roads lead there anyways when it comes to economics, especially when the economy is in shambles. AFan talking about which policies are correct and incorrect is literally politics.

They don't have to sign him, he is under contract.  They either have to activate him or release him.
