Brown > Jackson

Smith> Jackson

Jackson > Maclin

Devonta is a more complete WR than Desean. Not as fast, but better ball skills and a better route runner than Jackson was as an Eagle.

I think DeVonta Smith and Jeremy Maclin are very comparable players.  Both fast but very smooth.  I always thought Maclin was a bit on the slimmer side for WR but he's got 30 lbs on Smith.

Wasn't Davis a pretty good prospect? Lots of cuts today.

I can recall some giddiness over him on here at one point. Not Carson Strong levels, mind

Crazy I just saw that on Twitter and came to say I thought he was going to be a stud in the league. But yeah if I’m remembering correctly he was until he got injured in his final season at Ohio State

Nevermind, seems I was wrong about Davis being injured. He just fell in that draft & I think a lot of us assumed it was one of those prospects that just had an unexpected fall for no reason. I thought Vikings got a steal getting him in the third

Two "quality" safeties hit the market today in Burgess and Abrams.  They both would be an automatic upgrade over Wallace.  Are they subject to waivers or are the UFA?

Everyone is subject to waivers now. Even vets.

No news on McCoy or Davenport either.

Generally speaking, that's been bad news from Dennis Allen.

What about Doctors ??

A month before that draft he was thought of as a top 20 prospect, then he slid all the way to the back end of the 3rd round before getting drafted at #86 overall -- something was amiss for sure.

Since then, he's been waived by 3 teams in the past few months.  He's about out of chances.

Dumb...politicians have little to do with any of those things.  Central bankers (Jerome Powell), Putin's ridiculous war and the Saudis have driven WORLDWIDE INFLATION.

Add the shutdowns in China and the La Niña drought to the mix.  It flabbergasts me that folks don’t realize that China is the biggest fertilizer manufacturer in the world and that Russia and Ukraine produce 28% of the world’s fertilizer and the impact on domestic food production. Couple that with the OPEC tightening on Oil exports and the La Niña drought and that’s what is causing the price of food and gas to increase.  Then couple that with the supply chain issues of demand outstripping supply, mainly because of the shutdowns in China and overload on the ports and it pretty much explains our current situation.

No disrespect to @austinfan but economists are theorists that are less accurate than the local weatherman. Powell grossly mistimed the Fed’s slowing of buying and delayed the raising of interest rates. Despite labor shortages, the earnings reports have been pretty good for the third quarter. Yet Powell is convinced that too many folks have jobs and that is resulting in overburdening demand because too many people having jobs means too much money to spend.  No Jerome, it is under production of simple chips (cars), manufacturing shut downs due to China’s no tolerance Covid policy and the impact on imperial Russia’s attempt to recreate the Soviet empire. Now, I agree that free money for big banks went too long but the big jumps every three months need to stop.

I had an interesting conversation with a relative whose family was in real estate.  She is in her seventh decade.  She mentioned that 7% is nothing on a mortgage.  That matches what our folks paid and what my generation refinanced to from our double digit mortgage rates.

No talking politics here- but, if you think spending BILLIONS of money the government doesn't have (printing Billions) has little to do with inflation, then you should not be allowed to vote.

Dude, that describes the Federal budget my entire lifetime.

One the many horrible picks by Howie.

Davis is hardly on the field.  Jurgens best play was lining up as a WR.  Dean runs around doing nothing on STs.  Who cares about the other two.

Only five guys and they all suck.  Imagine what our record would be if Howie could draft.

<awaiting Howie Haters to emerge from the woodwork>

One could argue that at this point Calcaterra was the best value pick Howie had this year.

Just watch the game. If your eyes told you that was the worst defense in the league then you just don't know what you're watching.

How about that Lions defense, still dead last in yards per game and points per game.

7% mortgage rates aren't "nothing" when house prices have increased 50% in the last 2 years though. That makes a massive difference in affordability.

So people can just openly discuss politics but when I make a simple political joke I get warning points? Seems fair

What was your joke?

Here’s my political take… you’re all sheep and the vast majority of politicians care about power and wealth more than the safety and well-being of the people they represent.

If you disagree, you’re the problem. So go jump off a bridge into a pit of dirty syringes
