He has had it all but like what 2 weeks, and New membership is up a ton, give it a while. SMH..... I am willing to bet he makes it much much better in the long run.

If you have been wanting anything now is a great time to buy. And use the EMB link for fanatics to get money for the board.

I just checked on a Maxey jersey. Comes down to like 55 dollars. Real good deal.

He was on their PS. He doesn't go to waivers.

I've noticed my trending section has become much less cluttered with forced LGBTQ stories and celebrity crap.

Gotta hang on to a 27 year old rookie and Greg Ward. Can't afford to lose either.

Funk has nice burst through the line, and has solid power always falling forward or pushing the pile.

Theres not a lot of stuff to see on him in the NFL. But if you want to see more check out his maryland highlights. The guy is good and needs an opportunity to break out.

LOL

This is what Alkire has said about him so far.

A big strength guy sounds like a fit for the Eagles.

If the Eagles were to get Carter, Porter and Charbonnet with the first three picks, my first inclination would be to have Davis and Carter as the DT starters, with Noah Elliss and Tuipulotu as young rotational depth (where is 4for4 when you need him to object to the word rotational) and possibly veteran depth in Hargrave and Cox if they can be brought back at a reasonable dollar figure. Hargrave 2023 comes with a $12 million Cap hit if he doesn't play for us.  If he can be persuaded to actually play for us for $15 million, his actual net incremental cost would only be $3 million. and I think he is worth that...Cox 2023 comes with a $2.5 million Cap hit if he doesn't play for us, and only a $4 million cap hit if he does play, so if a Hargrave deal can't be hammered out, I would seriously consider keeping Cox for DT depth .

Conspicuously missing from the DT plan is Milton Williams.  I would move him into the same kind of DE role that Brandon Graham currently fills, which gives the Edge the following players to select from who are under contract in 2023 ... Reddick, Sweat, Graham, Barnett, Johnson, Johnson and Williams, with the remote possibility the Quinn will be willing to continue on the way Chris Long did.

Honestly one you get to that part of the draft I don't know much so it was a bit of a shot in the dark. His projections are all over the place because of how raw he is. But edge is clearly a need so I took a shot.

As noted above, if you add Carter to the DT corps, Milton Williams can move out to Edge.

I dont like that plan for DT. I think the eagles value DEs who can play the run, but also need to be able to pin their ears back when its time. I dont think Milton Williams will ever be an explosive rusher from the DE spot. Dont like bringing Barnett back. Theres still no promising young players in that DE rotation. That needs to be fixed.

He won't be playing on that deal. It has a poison pill.

https://www.nbcsports.com/philadelphia/eagles/details-fletcher-coxs-1-year-deal-eagles

This new contract really is a one-year deal for Cox and the Eagles will be forced to cut him next year. So he’ll either become a free agent after 2022 and move on from Philly or Howie Roseman will sit down with his agent and figure out a new contract for the following season.

Tell me more.  Here's what OTC says

"Fletcher Cox signed a one year, $14 million contract with the Eagles. The contract is fully guaranteed. $12.5 million was advanced and is treated as a signing bonus. There is a dummy year included for 2023 and 2024 which are simply in place to allow the Eagles to utilize the June 1 cut designation with Cox next year. The cap hits are reflective of how it will actually impact the salary cap for Philadelphia in those years."

and Spotrac says

"Fletcher Cox signed a 1 year, $14,000,000 contract with the Philadelphia Eagles, including a $12,500,000 signing bonus, $14,000,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $14,000,000. In 2022, Cox will earn a base salary of $1,500,000 and a signing bonus of $12,500,000, while carrying a cap hit of $4,000,000 and a dead cap value of $14,000,000."

That doesn't tell me much, and it doesn't completely align with OTC or Spotrac.

Technically, this is a five-year contract but it has voidable years for cap purposes and is structured in a way to ensure that Cox is released in March next year. His base salary of $1.5 million in 2023 and his base salary of $50 million (they just picked a crazy number) in 2024 will become guaranteed if Cox is on the roster on the second day of the 2023 league year.

From the article Mike posted above.

It's a complicated contract and those websites are just showing it in the easiest way possible how he will affect the cap. But notice both OTC and Spotrac call it a 1 year deal. If he's going to play here next year they will have to tear up his current deal and re-sign him to something new.

10 minutes ago, downundermike said:

I wonder why that is

Toohill got released. Malveaux got injured or retired or something. Sweat plateaued. And we havent really put many resources in to it lately.

Okay.  The article is rather vague, but it appears that trhe situation is rather vague.

Hot tea, honey, lemon, tons of whiskey

Forget the contract, Fletcher Cox has not played his way onto next year's team.

Good call! Suppose to wrap up and sweat lodge it out afterwards, right?

Okay.  The article is rather vague, but it appears that trhe situation is rather vague.

This is from his 2022 original contract, and why he had to be cut and re signed.  There is metrics they can not display, so they just show them as future signing bonus dead money.

As best as I can tell from his previous contract situation, the future cap hits out to 2026 are not a sighing bonus, they are an option bonus that has already been paid, and if he plays in 2023, they all accelerate with him being on the roster, so his cap hit would actually be 11.5 million.

His contract on OTC/Spotrac is not correctly shown. OTC even admits this, it’s because his contract is so complicated. In short, there is an approximately $16M option bonus that the team DOES NOT yet owe to Cox that those sites are counting as dead money (because it eventually will be), but it isn’t yet. So a trade/cut avoids that.
