Watching teams like the Falcons makes me appreciate the Eagles devotion to continually address their offensive line.

Houston and Cincy were better.

Cincy was the best. I’m partially biased because I always liked the black and blue color scheme the Panthers have.

If Tampa loses to Seattle and NO beats Pittsburgh, the Bucs would still be in first place due to division record.

The Saints schedule gets tougher after this weekend.

Did I imagine this or 40 or more years ago did a college all-star team play a pro team in an exhibition?

Was it an annual thing? I really think it was.

No ball breaking if I just imagined this. :smoke::crazy:

I have a recollection of watching one of them and it getting rained out. Like an insane amount of rain.

Yup. I remember that too. I believe that was the Steelers. Not sure which year. It very well might have been the last time that event was held. By then it was silly. In the early days the college guys had a remote chance to win but that was no longer the case.

The final College All-Star Game took place in 1976 during a torrential downpour at Soldier Field on July 23.[11][12][13] Despite featuring star players such as Chuck Muncie, Mike Pruitt, Lee Roy Selmon, and Jackie Slater, the All-Stars were hopelessly outmatched by the Pittsburgh Steelers, winners of consecutive Super Bowls (IX, X).

If this week goes badly, the Saints could be tied for first. That’s not good.

Go Steelers.

Not that the entire concept of TNF is flawed...  everyone around the country was dying to get a chance to see a marquee matchup between NFC South teams.

The NFL has brought us Super Bowl Sunday... and now Toilet Bowl Thursday.    And the TBT games come around almost every week.

I've said this over and over again.  YOU GUYS wanted the moderation.

We didn't even put up rules at first.  Then everyone wanted to report each other and ask for rules about what you could and couldn't do.  So I put up guidelines not even rules.  99% of the reported posts come from this blog only.  Everyone else has no issues. You guys complained, reported each other and wanted moderation so now you're getting it.

As for being anonymous, mods want to be able to post freely as a community member without being harassed.  It happens to VA despite us saying don't go to him about mod stuff.  "at their whim" is a funny one.  We don't want to suspend or ban anyone and we let A LOT go.   If we don't give warnings, half of you complain we're not enforcing the rules.  If we do give warnings, the other half complain we're too strict.  Can't make everyone happy.

Social media sites have moderation rules too.  It's not "dystopian" it's following the terms of service for a site.  Go to reddit, Facebook or elsewhere and try to post things against the rules and see what happens.

You do a good job.  But, the complaints come with the territory.  I've done message board modding without  anonymity and you are correct... you get people reaching out to you as an individual constantly, rather than using the proper channels.   And then there's the folks that make accusations that you believe your opinion on a given subject is somehow more valuable than someone else because you are a mod.

It is a sucky job, it doesn't pay, and you are always wrong, as you point out in the end of the third paragraph.  Just know that your efforts are appreciated by a silent majority.  Sadly, they are silent and all you hear are the bellyachers who want you to do more on one side or think you overstep on the opposite side.

I'll even throw a shout out to those who are currently serving and haven't yet achieved 'veteran' status.   Armed Forces Day gets overlooked, so I'll thank the future veterans along with the current veterans.

Hard to really make that case when only the Eagles have a winning record of that group.

Rams 3-5
49ers 4-4
Bucs 4-5
Falcons 4-6
Browns 3-5
Eagles 8-0
Panthers 3-7

And it is possible, given the state of the NFC that if the Vikings come crashing back to reality that the Eagles might not have a whole lot to play for in that game on January 1.  I'm not suggesting they will sit players, but there might be a few who are a little hungover for that game... given the timing.

As far as the mods go….who appointed them? Or did they volunteer? And if they volunteered, how can others join to help them with all the complaints? Or is it just a group of "old boys” that don’t want anybody else in the "club”? My issue again is a lack of transparency with them. There’s no avenue for a poster to appeal a suspension they may feel is unjust (and this has nothing to do with the recent suspensions). It’s all….I dunno….we all paid for this board to get up and running, yet some posters are able to wield a lot more power.

I guess it’s a real cool club, and we’re not part of it

We actually breed Mods in the US.  Message boards had become so prevalent, that the Department of Homeland Security set up a division to oversee the breeding and development of Mods.  They grow up and are raised at undisclosed locations.  IMO, one of the better uses of taxpayer dollars.

How many more days are you going to whine about this? Or at this point are you just trying to get suspended?
