I am first and foremost a fan of the game of football.  Being a fan of the Philadelphia football team is a distant second to that.

Which is why I’m such a fan of Stoutland.  He makes the game beautiful.  It is also why I am a fan of goeagles99 and dawkins20 and justrelax and Franklin and BigEFly and original sin and Iggles_phan and so many others here in the Blog.  They all make the beautiful game beautiful.

Sweat and Dickerson were injury risks just like Jones.  Jones at the University of Washington was never soft pre injury.

Yeah I stand corrected. He's listed at 6'4" 224. Having somewhat of a down year in 2022 with only 25 or so tackles and 2.5 sacks.

He's a former safety that moved to linebacker. One of the most athletic linebacker prospects going into the 2023 draft. Excels at pass coverage. But needs to improve run defense.

Should fly back up boards after the Combine. 2nd-3rd round grade

At this point, I don’t see how they don’t extend Hurts barring a serious regression or a really bad playoff performance. His progress has been uncanny. And he’s been throwing the ball well down the field, making good reads, and protecting the football. He’s shown almost  everything we wanted to see. He’s part of the MVP convo, and rightly so. That’s not someone you balk on. At this point, I’m fine with him moving forward. Maybe we could find better, but at this point, the chances of whoever being better than Hurts is slim. I hate the idea of the QB eating so much cap, but at this point, I don’t see another choice.

It won't happen, but I'd be thrilled to see him play out his rookie contract and get that payday in 2024. I can't imagine it would cost that much more per year to wait one more offseason.

The only benefits of that would be one year of more cap space, and the possibility of paying him less, or not paying him if he totally craps the bed. But the longer we wait, the more the contract will be. A couple years ago, $30mil per year was considered crazy. Now it’s cheap. By 2024, $50mil might be the rate. Especially if Hurts keeps this trajectory. Tough call

Well, that is the knock on Guidry, that he relies too much on his makeup speed.

Well that explains it.  I don't have a photographic memory.  I can't see the Big E on the eye chart.  I'm color blind.  I have no depth perseption.  I have hearing aids so I can hear.  I can't smell and I can't taste.  So of the five senses, I have only touch that works well.  That is why I was a good wrestler.  Visually Hurts meant something.  McNabb and Vick, not so much.

Of course he did.  Jenkins was a well respected member of the Eagles.  He was brought here by this GM.  He was retired, I always assumed that Howie reached out to Malcom before trading for CJGJ.

Peter King says they have a top 5 offensive line and a top 5 defensive line.  That got my thinking.  They also have a top 5 QB, top 5 WRs, top 5 TE, top 5 corner duos/trios, and probably top 5 corners too.  And then there is Britain Covey.

I thought so too but I looked it up and McNabb has an inch on him.  Then you notice how Hurts' sneakers have a bit of a lift to them.

McNabb is easily taller in the picture. The hat might be throwing it off but if you compare facial features McNabb is above him.
