EMB Blog: 2022 Regular Season (and beyond?) - NO POLITICS

They are going to be dumb and trade him, I can just feel it.

Maxey? I can see them doing that because they are going to sell themselves on if Embiid plays the way he did tonight and harden plays the way that he has before the injury that Kevin Durant, Harden, and Joel Embiid is gives them the greatest chance of winning a title this year, and next year. I’ve also been of the belief that the Sixers look at the fact by the time Maxey hit his prime peak that everything else around him is not gonna be as good at that point. so he likely is going to either ask to be traded or dealing him to collect assets for a rebuild. I can totally see them thinking that to themselves

frankly i doubt the nets make that deal. I think they are in holding firm until they get blown away by an offer

As of right now the top 10 picks in the draft are: Texans, Raiders, Panthers, Eagles (from Saints), Jaguars, Bears, Lions (from Rams), Seahawks (from Broncos), Texans (from Cleveland), and Steelers.

Texans and Panthers absolutely need a QB

Lions and Raiders will probably look at a QB if there's one there at their pick

Seahawks and Steelers may go QB early but will likely stay put for the year at least

Jaguars and Bears are set at QB for now

Throw in Skoronski, who is going to go very high in the draft and that Saints pick is looking damn good for a team looking for DL. Lots of football left to play but if things stay this way we're looking at a top 1-3 non-QB non-OT prospect available at our pick pretty easily.

Anderson, Murphy, Carter

As it stands now, one of those DL is ours.

I live in an area with fans of multiple different teams. They ask me that every single day. It’s a really dumb question. These guys are professionals not fans. They have been humbled many of times. Losing in week 12 has no impact on the playoffs. Every player takes playoff games seriously. Root for history. Hoping you’re team loses to be humble is just overthinking.

Ha - no, you want the team to play better. I’ve seen plenty of bad eagles teams win sloppy games they shouldn’t - the solution wasn’t to start losing.

Teams don’t lose because they weren’t humbled, that’s just a talking point people use to cope with losing when it happens. If the Eagles slip up this season it will be because they were outplayed not because they weren’t humbled. I would never want them to lose a game just for that, it’s asinine. Now as far as going undefeated vs resting your guys before a bye week, that’s another question and one I don’t think is worth crossing that bridge if and when we get to it.

A) SF has no vertical passing attack.

B) I have no idea why they gave up so much for McCafferty, Mitchell looks fine.

PFF has updated its Big Board:

2. Edge Will Anderson, Alabama

You won’t find many 243-pound edge rushers who come with no concerns about their size. And that’s just how powerful and explosive Anderson is.

After leading the country in pressures as a true sophomore, Anderson has 44 so far this season as the focal point of the Bama defense.

5. DI Jalen Carter, Georgia

Carter has been hampered by an injury in the early going and has been limited to only 132 snaps. However, his work as a sophomore in 2021 is enough to solidify his top-five draft stock, as he led the Bulldogs with a 90.0 pass-rushing grade.

6. DI Bryan Bresee, Clemson

Bresee is not your run-of-the-mill defensive tackle. At 6-foot-5, 300 pounds, he’s not holding an ounce of bad weight and could pass for a defensive end from a build perspective. He’s one of the best pure penetrators in the class and earned a 76.0 pass-rushing grade this season.

8. Edge Myles Murphy, Clemson

Murphy is still a bit of a bull in a china shop, but at 6-foot-5, 275 pounds, he’s one strong bull. You see it most in the run game, where Murphy has earned a 72.0-plus grade in every season of his career

Don't know much about Bresee, thoughts?

Go undefeated. You get the bye week in the playoffs. 2 teams have ever been undefeated in a season. Both made the SB. Try to make history vs resting because there isn’t any indication that resting actually helps.

Breese or Carter besides Jordan Davis would be Fing ridiculous.

What would be even more ridiculous would be if all three are on the Board when the Eagles are picking. Howie can move down either one or two spots in the Draft and still get one of the three.  Even better would be if Anderson is also on the Board.

To me it’s not about the advantage of resting guys as it is, your QB rolls his ankle and can’t play in the playoffs because of a virtually meaningless accomplishment that you don’t get any trophies for.

But I think the players should decide what they’d wanna do.

So one thing that did not happen today.

OBJ watching the Cowboys saying " I gotta get me some Dak Prescott!"

I know its always been his dream to be 3rd place in the NFC East.

If see somehow get Von Miller aka Will Anderson then just crap

Bresee - good range, can shoot gaps, not particularly stout against the run and can get locked up. I like him in the DAL defense (lots of games) or a one-gap system… the Fangio system doesn’t play to his current strengths although he has a lot potential if his technique gets better. Gym Shorts would be all over him.

???

The chargers stink. Have not been impressed by them all year and Herbert has not taken that leap.

Why is it virtually meaningless?

They literally have no DTs. They are all hurt. Remember Dak torching UPS guys playing 9th corner for the Eagles? This is the same thing on runs up the middle. Their best 2 WRs are out as well.

Its pathetic that SF is only up by 3.

It’s for bragging rights only, you don’t get anything for it. It would be cool to have and would be cool to be in the history books, that’s why I said virtually meaningless and not literally meaningless. But in the end, it doesn’t count for anything.

I kind of want the chargers to pull off a miracle comeback in this cause of shanahan being moronic and not using his best back in mccaffrey 3 straight times from inside the 10 to put the game out of reach.

What the F was that? Hebert must have a concussion

He looked awful on that play and much of the night. Then again the niners defense is good and he’s down his starting LT, starting RT, starting WR in Allen and his other starting WR in Williams. Not an excuse but takeaway aj brown, smith, lane and mailata, not sure we are gonna look nearly as good without them either

i haven’t even talked about their defense being down bosa and jc jackson. I don’t what the heck it is with the chargers but feels like every year they get crushed by guys getting hurt.

Coaches get a lot out of it. Resume builder. The players and fans will remember it forever. Every stat, team, player, coach, that doesn’t win the SB doesn’t count for anything but there is an impact. Every HOF that never won a SB (Brian Dawkins) is virtually meaningless but it doesn’t mean they didn’t have an impact on the game.

Yup, but he had a WR on the sideline and threw it to a different zip code. I'm putting that play on the QB with a lot of consideration for the game conditions.

That one is for sure on him. That was an awful throw. I don’t know what it is about the chargers but feels like every year they have a ton of injuries.
