It seemed unnatural, even for him, to consistently only send four in the first half.

Lol wut?

So was I.  Kevin Harlan said it about 55 times during the Westwood One broadcast.  It becomes a distraction for teams, and the Eagles haven’t been playing their best, even leading up to this game.  They need to re-focus, hopefully get guys healthy on defense.

The 2 takeaways every game won’t last forever.  They need to play better.

Yeah but to lose to this crap franchise? On allot of questionable calls too? That sucks. I would have rather loss to Indy

Also, my wife thought my reaction was insane after that Watkins fumble and the Graham late hit. Frankly, I think not waking up my kids was a huge victory and a real show of self restraint.

I wasn't so lucky. They woke up but went back to bed pretty quick after I told them I was going to ban Santa from coming to the house

Also I’m pretty sure we beat this team 9 out of 10 times. It took A TON of bad breaks for them to lose by 5 (Toohill never scored a TD, shut up).

Doesn't matter.  This one loss is the window into what this team really is.

A clumsy, poorly-coached collection of soft players who can't tackle, stay on the field, or avoid boneheaded penalties.

I'd agree with that actually. And of course the worry is that we now do lose to Indy and then things get tough.

Maybe they lose back to back

All of this.

This team had more than a few red flags through 8 weeks.

Although Indy is sort of a crap franchise with a crazy owner lately too now that I think about it.

That's the worry here I think. Short week, on the road, to a team who just won with a new HC.

But that's true of Washington too and we just lost to them.

They had 10 days to prepare for the Redskins and they lost. Let's see what dumb fn defense that d licker Gannon plays next week

Frank Reich will give us all the secrets, no need to worry.

Two things are true about tonight’s game.

1. The refs boned us.

2. We boned ourselves more.

On to Indy.

Pretty sure he was being sarcastic.

I have no faith in him going in to Indy. We know Taylor is going to get his yards. We need to put it on the offense to eat clock and put up points. No good relying on the defense.

11 days actually.

Taylor will go over 120 with this sad arse dline

He may go for more than that to be honest with you. He could go for 200 yards.

Their tackling has been a problem since week one. Really only game where they actually tackled really well was week 2 and 3 against the Vikings and jags. Even in the Cardinals game that they weren’t good. dallas got back in that game because of Poor tackling against the run particularly zeke. The Texans game run defense and tackling was also poor the first half. It caught up to them tonight. We can get either continue to keep overlooking it cause we are 8-1 or accept the fact their run defense and tackling needs to be better.

i didn’t even start ST who’s DVOA after tonight might wind up being bottom 5 in the league.

Think about this: In a game where just about everything that could have gone wrong, went wrong - We were still in it up until 1:50 and it took our most experienced veteran on the D Line making a mistake he wouldn’t make 9 out of 10 times to seal the loss.

Granted, Washington brought their A game and they deserve respect for that - we win this game 9 out of 10 times if we get half the calls and eliminate a mistake or two.

If he goes for 200, I'll say we lose that game

I took a look at the stats at halftime.  Commanders ran FIFTY plays on offense in the first half —29 rushes for 100 yards (3.4 ypc) and Heinicke was 12-for-21 passing for a pedestrian 57% completion.  They were literally eeking out first down after first down, and still only led 20-14 due to a 58-yard FG on grass to close the half.  I was telling myself that formula can’t possibly work for all four quarters.

The Eagles likely would have won the game in the 2nd half if they hadn’t constantly shot themselves in the foot.  Heck, if the only thing they did right was Watkins not fumbling after catching a bomb, the Eagles probably would have won.
