Didn't like that Howie sat on his hands at the trade deadline instead of finding a DT to add to the rotation.  I rather call up a young DT in Wilson than go for an aging vet in Suh.  They need some energy/juice there.  Liked the fight that Williams showed late in game.

Agreed. They need to call up Wilson to add a fresh mass in the middle and spell Cox and Hargrave. Cox is a shell of his past self and Hargrave gets gassed like any big man. Gannon and his "I look at the D from the perspective of a CB coach" BS has to change. He has a great backfield but he is so scared of the big play. You know what's worse than a big play? A 12 play 8 minute scoring drive that keeps our O off the field and gasses the D -- Earth to Gannon, Earth to Gannon...

I’m shocked how Cox has apparently hit a cliff in terms of performance.  From being considered among the best DT’s in the NFL to basically a rotational piece in the span of 2 seasons is surprising.  Is there some sort of nagging injury that we’re not aware of?

He was never a technique guy, just pure power. I imagine his shoulders have weakened over the years and age is showing

It shouldn't be a surprise to anyone who's watched his play the past 2-3 seasons. He is and has been shot for a few seasons now. It was a sentimental play by Howie to bring him back because he is an all time team great, but at some point you have to cut the cord. He shouldn't have been re-signed this season after they cut him.

The season is over.  Gannon needs to go.  They absolutely can’t compete with any of the NFC playoff teams with his lack of aggression and porous run defense.  Will not be excited about this team until he’s gone and we get some young talent on the D line.

Eagles didn't play well enough in any facet of the game to justify winning.

That said, that officiating crew should be sent back to doing high school games.  Not the reason the Eagles lost by a long shot, but watching a game that was officiated so poorly made the experience of watching that offensive and defensive effort that much more painful.

Congrats 1972 Dolphins.  And now we can put to bed the worry about having to play starters every week if they manage to clinch early.

Vikings managing to win last week looms larger today than yesterday.  And Giants managing to continue to win boggles the mind.

Giants are coached well in all facets, can run the ball effectively and play good defense. As simple as that

I mean, yeah I think we're in agreement, it's a team sport and we need to play well in all phases of the game. The reason why we have the best record in the league is because we have done that for the most part when needed. Current DVOA rankings are 4th on offense and 5th on defense. Which is good enough for 2nd overall. Sure we've beat some cupcakes to get there, but again, we can only beat who's on our schedule which we have no control over. For those thinking we've been exposed in a big way and are doomed for a freefall, I'd be curious to hear where they think we end up ultimately.

Tbh i think the next 6 games are going to tell us exactly who the eagles are on defense and going to be going heading into the playoffs. Going at colts, vs. packers, vs. titans, at giants, at bears and at Dallas. The colts finally have JT back healthy. I think it’s a much more difficult task than robinson and gibson. Packers are 7th in the league in rushing. The titans are 12th in rushing. Giants are 4th in rushing. Bears are 1st in rushing. And Dallas is 10th. I am guessing all of their game plans are going to be run the ball and control the game that way. Because to be honest all those teams right now are better suited to win that way besides for maybe Dallas and maybe the Packers are getting going with their passing game. but I think the packs needs Jones and AJ Dillon to help set up that passing game.

You guys will start to agree after next weeks loss to the colts.

Yeah, should be interesting to see but I'm not really seeing how the Giants, Bears or even Titans put up a ton of pts against us.

Apparently the head coach also feels we took too long to adjust last night.

I would love for a reporter to ask Sirianni about why on 2nd and 8 at the 22 late in the 4th quarter and needing to go 78 yards to get a score to take the lead he decided we were going to go with a three tight end formation along with gainwell and quez out there well. Meanwhile my two top wide receivers in brown and smith are on the sideline

Haven't seen the blog like this in a while. Feels like 2017 loss to the Seahawks, 2018 loss to the Vikings, etc.

I agree with most of what you said in your previous post however, saying they have no shot in the NFC and the season is over is a little excessive. There are too many veterans on this team that will not allow this team to fold like lawn chairs in the face of competition.

If Gannon cannot adjust his scheme, he's gone. The fact that one player injured (Davis) makes this defense  swiss cheese is inexcusable.

Both things can be true, but I just don't see the wisdom in not having a backup for a position that's obviously super important to this defense. Shouldn't be that hard to find a 330 lb 1st down run plug.

I think they believed they had that in Tuipoluto.  The way teams are running is by double teaming inside and pulling guards and players to fill the holes. Cox is getting blown off the ball by double teams as is whoever is the NT.  There's not many NT's that just can break double teams on a regular basis.  Part of the problem is that Gannon just isn't willing to move 8 men into the box of to run blitz.  His philosophy is that if he gives them enough plays they will make a mistake and to not give up the big play.  I hate it.

I'm sorry to have to tell you this, Mr. Nova, but Fletcher has contracted what's known as Ryan Howard Disease.  Symptoms:  get paid, get fat, don't care.

Season is over sitting at 8-1. 🤣

It's how we lost. Easily a game we should of won. I'm not going that far but listening to WIP it sounds like we just lost a playoff game.

It’s like this because this defense is soft.

Titans is really going to be about stopping Henry. Their other offensive weapons aren’t very good. If they score over 20 I’m guessing it’s cause Henry went wild.

the bears are capable of scoring points cause fields as a runner can open things up with the run game. I actually said on Sunday I’d rather have faced the bears in September and early October than mid December in Chicago. The weather at that time of the year actually benefits the offense they are running. I think we win cause bears defense is just awful. but the bears have scored 29 or more in 3 consecutive games.

imo the giants game is likely going to be a 21-17 type game. gonna see a ton of Barkley and bootlegs/play action from Daniel jones off of it. Also the giants for the most part this year have done a good job not shooting themselves in the foot. Year’s past theyd routinely figure a way to botch it. Imo the giants want to play that game in the teens cause it means they’ve ball controlled the crap out of you to keep it close. Their game plan is pretty simple keep it close by running the ball and ball control with a chance in the 4th quarter and hope Barkley and jones make plays with their legs in the end.

On the bright side, we might have 2 top 10 picks next year!
