Aren't all of these DTs that we have better in the role as 1 gap penetrators?  I know that Hargrave has played NT but it isnt the best use of his talents.  Cox obviously doesn't like and isn't good at that role either.

I don't understand Gannon's obsession with using the 5-2 sans Davis. If he wants to play that, they need to call up Marvin Wilson to 2 gap NT.

I think they want to play 6 in the box, if you go 1-gap then the OL can get to 2nd level pretty easily and the whole 2H safety thing starts falling apart.

Okay, then, how about mixing it up then. Keep the offense guessing.

You can 1 gap with 7 man fronts, but not 6 man fronts (there are too many open gaps otherwise0. Our DTs without Davis can't 2 gap, therefore we should play 1 gap and single-high coverages.

Of course, that would require Jonathan Gannon adjusting.

Sure - you might get a TFL, you also might get gashed... we know how Gannon feels about explosive plays.

I like the sky judge for egregious malpractice, I'm against making everything reviewable or more challenges as the game is already pretty slow/drawn out.

Well the TMO is normally only used where the game is stopped(the ref calls it) for scores if there is doubt and dangerous play. To be clear the TMO is there to tell the ref that need to look at something in his ear to look at something.

I understand the reasons if you have the personnel.  The Eagles don't currently.  I'd trust White, Edwards, Reddick to get off blocks and chase down RBs than I would trust Cox to 2 gap.  And it adds to unpredictability of the D as you can send LBs to blitz multiple gaps.

I am just saying I don’t trust them with that either. I rewatched that game when it came on nfl network at 2am. I was just as pissed off when our guys ran themselves into blocks and couldn’t shed blocks.

Put them in 3rd and long is all I ask for.

Gannon ran into this predicament before (last year), he started mixing in more Cover-1 iirc which worked OK against the string of JV QBs we played.

It's confusing because facemask is an easy penalty call to make.  I think the question is the who makes the decision to ask for a review.  Of course, I am not sure the Rules provide for any limit as to when an officical can call a penalty.  I do not think that an official would be prohibited from throwing the flag after seeing on the replay.  The non-call isn't reviewable but I do not think time to call a foul ends until the ball is set for the next play.

They were already reviewing that play for the turnover and whether or not the defender was touched after he recovered the ball.  If you can 'rewind' a play to end when the player was down even after you let him score a TD, because of a review... then why not just rewind it a bit further, call the face mask and give the ball back to the offense?  They had to see that on the review, and I have no doubt that the face mask played some role in the turnover.

They also were reviewing if Goedert was down by contact before the ball came out. They even admitted they saw it on the replay but there's nothing they can do which is just ridiculous.

I'm waiting for PFF to say that Fletcher Cox was the highest rated DT in week 10.

You know its bad when they hate him too. He's something like 45th out of 66 DT's according to them.

I swear it was infuriating watching the robinson td drive over again. Commanders OL isn’t that good and they looked like all pros as Cox looked like some PS scrub that got called up. To Cox’s credit in the 4th quarter he actually decided to play.

Darn. DIdn't expect him to make it all the way through anyway.

What a dick

Now with Dallas out it really would have been nice to go through with a deal for an RB at the trade deadline… but apparently nothing fit the bill.

We will have to go back to parts of the 2021 playbook.

Quick, now do BG

Last 6 games:

152 snaps

1 QB hit

0 sacks

2 TFL

4 tackes

1 boneheaded penalty

On Marvin Wilson, perhaps with the limited amount of call ups they can make from the PS, they decided this was the week to let him sit when Colts and Pack are on the horizon and he can be called up for those games

Isn't there the elusive pressure stat to factor in?  Also, I haven't seen him on roller skates - but yeah he isn't killing it out there.

Let's add Josh Sweat's last 6 games

233 snaps

4 TFL

4 QB hits

1 sack
