Hankins might have been a good pickup at the trade deadline - but we have a logjam of talent at DT.

No we don't, Cox sucks, Tuipolotu is way past sucking, Milton Williams invisible, Davis the only NT on the roster hurt and Hargrave while good at getting after the QB in passing downs has been invisible against the run.

The who defensive front scheme hinges on a NT being able to occupy 2 blockers, remove that and all the eagles have is a bunch of miscast DTs.

Big hard to move fat guy in the middle and now play 3 LBs please and let Dean's entire mission be tackling Taylor.

I think the paranoia is because the Eagles have shown a major weakness in the run defense.  Until they show they can improve that there will be some major concern.

Every single team has weakness. And as we’ve seen 8 out of 9 games, running the ball to win against us is tough to do because we are really good in most other areas.

As well as Wash did running the ball and controlling the clock….we still likely beat them if not for Quez’s fumble. We won’t turn the ball over 3 times a week, but we do seemingly have an ability to generate 2 turnovers a week.

By and large, we have a sound foundation to win games (especially this year with how bad the general play has been).

Eagles have a lack of identity in the front 7. That needs to get fixed

Yup, Cox doesn't like the way he's used in the scheme without Davis.

With Davis he was marginal at best without him cox has been atrocious.

Hargrave is Interesting because he was a 2 gapping NT in Pitts 34 and now Gannon has asked him to be more of a 34, 4i penetrator and he's done well at it but nothing of note against the run.

It's just inexcusable that the eagles contingency plan incase Davis got hurt would be to play Tui at NT.

Originally the plan was to have Ellis be the back up NT when he got hurt they should have looked for another NT instead of cramming the overmatched Tui in at NT.

Agreed - I think there will be less apprehension with the IND WRs, so the CBs will play up and the front seven might get some S help (knocking down that 3rd-down efficiency, which wasn't all running the rock BTW).

Team was exploring upgrading at nose tackle, but decided to sign an overweight old guy off the street instead.

I think the issue is lack of faith in Gannon to make adjustments. He doesn't really adjust to the strengths of his players (Slay and Bradberry playing off recievers on 3rd and short for example). There's also been mention of Fletcher Cox having discussions with Gannon because of his scheme for the reason I just mentioned.

As far as the offense goes, not too concerned there as Hurts has shown to be resilient.

🤔   A lot of this post seems to be about Quez Watkins.

I win 1000!

Quez is healthy, and has made a lot of excellent catches in real games.

Ive lost any hope in Tyree Jackson. And all interest. I didnt want him getting activated anyway. He should be gone.

Last time he was healthy enough to play, he was disappointing. He was dropping balls that you expected him to catch based on his amazing pre-season displays of skill.

He appears to be not that good, and most importantly, never healthy.

Even if he sucks at blocking that makes him a better blocker than Richard Rodgers

Months too late in the Joseph signing. Moronic not to have a backup NT and just throwing Marlon T out there to get bulldozed.

Makes absolutely no sense, was just thinking this. Howie knows better.

And I’m sure we’ll have two high safeties with light fronts against Indy. Always have to protect against the big pass play.

Big plays happen. Blitz the qb more

I think the backup NT topic is a bit overblown. This Dline was suspect against the run even with Davis out there. The interior Dline wasnt great against the run last year either, and its gotten worse. I dont want to say it and didnt think I would this year... Derek Barnett's injury is hurting us now. Having him and BG on the edge would help more than Sweat and Reddick, and TJ Edwards is getting exposed more and more each week. Add another year where we will be saying we need better LBer play in the offseason. I doubt we'll see what Dean is made of this year.
