If it ain’t broke don’t fix it, we lost one game, it was going to happen. Win Sunday and move on. Literally Quez Watkins doesn’t fumble we win.

So continue to let teams gash us in the run and hope not to turn the ball over? Seems like a hopeful legit solution.

I think something is def broken.

Had a fantastic trip to Philly this weekend. Drove down Sunday morning, through Buffalo and over to Syracuse, then straight down past Scranton and into Philly. Left Toronto at 9 am, and with a few stops along the way, eventually parked in South Philly at 7 pm. Good friends that I hadn’t seen in awhile so lots of good stories to tell, everybody had great bladder control, and only stopped for gas twice the entire trip; once on the way down and once on the way back. Though long, the drive was a lot of fun. Tons of dead deer though, all along the highways; far more than I see here in our rural areas.

My buddy booked us a place through Expedia, who booked through vrbo; we were to get a code for the lock on the door at 4 pm to check in. 4 pm comes and goes and nothing. The guy driving was the guy who booked so couldn’t check his phone too much, but we weren’t getting there till 7 so no biggie, yet…

6 pm we get the notification. Host has cancelled due to the house being to messy from the prior renter. Well that’s not good. Call to Expedia to find us alternate accommodations, we are put on hold and eventually the call disconnects after 45 minutes. City lights are now very visible. Luckily I find a place on air b n b just off broad street in south Philly. Closer to the stadium than our first place and cheaper too. Book it right away.

As we unlock the front door, Expedia calls back and can offer us (4 guys) 2 free hotel rooms for Sunday night only. Can’t refund the air b n b so we decline. Expedia gives full refund of booking.

Place was great, we picked up beers on the drive down, and we crack some as we settle in. Boys want cheesesteaks so we go to Genos. Was ok, not great, but hits the spot. 2 of my buddies are cops, so they enjoy the wall of police patches - and there was two Ontario based patches, OPP (our equivalent of state troopers and York region (the "county” directly north of and adjacent to Toronto).

We go grab some more beers and head back for the night, and stay up drinking and telling stories till 2.

Up the next day and off to the Rocky statue (none of the other guys have been to Philly before). Drove back down broad street to Chickies and Pete’s for lunch. Smoking hot server, but terrible service unfortunately. Took over an hour to get wings. Don’t like how you have to order fries separate from every food option (burgers and sandwiches should always come with fries). Wings were good when they arrived at least. Beer was cheap (I really liked Yuengling).

Back to the apartment to start pregaming at about 2….leave for the stadium at 530, take one subway stop down and the train is full of fans. Tailgate was a blast, there was a live rock band that’s hired out for night games by a guy in a giant RV. Chatted with a bachelorette party of 14, mostly from Orlando but bride is a golf instructor eagles fan from Philly….my dream girl. All of the girls and all of us guys are attached, so no pressure of putting on game.

Seats were in section 110, end zone, we get there just as the first punt is kicked and see the penalty, in our seats in time for first TD. Fly eagles fly.

Game didn’t go our way, but made friends in the stands, still had a great time. Left Tuesday by 10 am and took us the same 10 hours on the way back. Still have no voice today from cheering/yelling so much.

The last time I saw the Eagles in Philly was Reid’s first game back with KC and McNabbs jersey retirement, Thursday nighter, we lost. Still had a great time then. I already want to go back as soon as possible.

I am now 0-3 for in person Eagles games. Perhaps I’ll stop going, but I don’t really think so. It’s too much damn fun, even a loss.

Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

Taking on a division loss to the worst team in the division is worst case scenario.  Best case most realistic hope is that they go 2-1 in their 3 remaining division games.  If they go 1-2 or worse in those games then they aren't winning the division.

Anyone with a brain realizes the best case is 3-0.  Quit being overdramatic.

You make it sound like it would be a miracle if they went 3-0.  Ridiculous

I'm disappointed to hear you had poor service at chickie and Pete's.

That's my #1 pre-game ritual. Get to the parking lot early.  Walk over to there.  Eat. Take their taxi crab shuttle bus back over to the game.

Service is almost always way faster than you'd expect at a sit down place. Even when busy.

As far as the talent there,  probably get an attractive waitress like 80% of the times I've been there.  Pretty good in that aspect.

David, while I agree with the point you make about 3-0, anyone with half a brain realizes that responding to RTK simply pollutes the Blog.  If no one ever responds to him then he will disappear.

Glad to hear it was a great trip.  Keep going, sounds like it was a great time.  Unless you hit 0-10.  Then you should probably stop.

I think it's highly unlikely they go 3-0 in those game especially with how two of them are setup as part of a 3 game road trip.

Joseph started 12 games, had 57 tackles last year.  551 snaps in 14 games.  39 snaps a game.

We'll ask him to eat 25-30 snaps a game, he's got no wear and tear this season, and Davis returns in 3 weeks or so (and Wilson back to the PS).

So I think he can help against the run, too old to start, but probably has enough in the tank to help off the bench.

Rotate Williams in at DT on passing downs, with Hargrave, Cox and Joseph on run downs.

I hope Gannon isn't as obvious as he was with Davis on run vs pass sets.

People need to not freak out about Minnesota. They have won a bunch of close games and it took a damn miracle catch by Jefferson and a fumble by Allen and craziness to win that Buffalo game. They nearly lost to the bears, lions and commanders as well. All those games came down to the wire. I tend to think they lose at least 2 more this year

Yeah, I don't see the Vikings as legit as their record. Their win against Buffalo was their version of Washington beating us. It basically took divine intervention for them to catch enough breaks to come back to win. Before that, they've won all their games by 1 score against bad teams.

I don’t really buy the Vikings but Eagles don’t necessarily control their destiny when it comes to them. Yes, they beat them but what happens from here out is up in the air. At least with Dallas and NYG, Eagles can beat them twice and ensure they aren’t able to catch up.

It's changed a bunch over the years. Was 1, then 2, then something else, then during COVID it was unlimited, but now its at 8.

Ok well that's a relief for us as we will want to recall Goedert, Davis and Maddox. We wouldn't really want to decide which 2 to recall.

Our starting DTs can’t anchor.  Williams can’t anchor and never should have been asked to.

Joseph…we’ll see about his conditioning, but that’s exactly what he does.  He started 12 games last year.  Granted, that was for a team that was bad against the run.

Granted that was with a D running the same scheme as us, so being good at stopping the run wasn’t a priority and being historically bad was a matter of personnel and stubbornness (aka lack of adjustments).

I was at that same KC game and its the only time I saw a game in Philly (Standing room only tickets lol). I was 0-2 on games I attended as I went to Cincy in 2016 and saw that dumpster fire of a game lol. Cincy fans were surprisingly very nice and they bought me beer out of pity. I was able to watch the 2017 team in Charlotte however, and that was an absolute invasion by Eagles fans and such a great performance we put on there as a team. I still have an old snapchat video of my drunk self cheering with a ton of fans as we were walking out of the stadium. You could see how excited everyone was as that was such a huge victory for us at the time.

I didnt realize Chris Rodriguez is in his 6th season with Kentucky. I presume he will be a late round pick being an old guy with a power running style. Gonna be a great value for his first contract.

I believe Overshown is on the old side as well (RS-Sr) - but yeah, that’s geriatric for a RB prospect.

I guess that could be why overshown went from borderline round 1 to not talked about.  Still think he will go before the end of the 3rd. Rodriguez should probably end up in like round 6 as a RB.

I said the other day a lot of the top OT prospects are underclassmen… they usually stay in school, so I’m expecting that pool of prospects to take a big hit by January 15th.

In terms of draft strategy Howie is going to have tradeback at some point to get us some late round picks (specifically I’m thinking RB and OL flyers).

So we've got a washed up old big fat guy who's bad against the run because we're bad against the run.

Makes sense.
