Yes I know I just said I watched it 5 times.

It's tough to tell if he dove for the ball because it was a bit out in front of him or if he felt he needed to dive and didn't or just lost his balance and fell over, it was bang bang play.

Of course I don't expect you as a consistent hurts defender to be at all objectionable.

Like I said I think the only person that knows exactly what  one was doing on that play is Quez, whether the throw led him to dive is speculative.

All I can say is if he keeps his feet he probably scores and doesn't fumble.

Too bad it was a critical play in the game.

Yep.  For all the 8-0 goodwill and sentiment that drafts have gone better, there remains a discrepancy between drafts and player utilization on the field.

We’ve all been through Milton Williams.  A high first round pick on an intermittently utilized 160lb WR who gets mostly underneath passes in traffic while Parsons was available?  Eeeh, that’s not a good pick.  I’m not saying that’s the final script for Smith, but it’s got to change to justify his draft position.  They could easily have Pascal in his current role.  Didn’t need a high first for that.

Dickerson, a 2nd round LG,  is probably Howie’s best round 1-3 draft pick since…I guess Goedert.

I really like Smith and has been stated before if Howie didn't screw the pooch the year before in WR no need to take Smith and could have taken Parsons instead.

I actually at the time said I thought Parsons was the best player in the draft🤷‍♂️

I agree though with how steichen Siri are using smith they could get the same from pascal, just seems like a mis use of smith talents and skill set.

Screwed UK from the get go here.

Great throw by Levis gets them out of it.

Ngakoue gave Mailata issues last year when he was on the Raiders.  They have some quality corners as well.  I think we come out pass heavy again and I'm not sure how well that will work with Goedert out and both AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith banged up.

I think it might be a bit of a frustrating slow start by the offense.

Agreed.  This will be a close game, and I’m not sure they win it

Taking a RB in round 1 is dumb. Taking a RB in round 1 in a loaded RB class with other major needs is really dumb.

...but man is Bijan Robinson good at football.

We were supposed to be in Indy right now visiting the children’s museum before hitting up the Lego store to design mini figs of the family.

Instead we had to put our dog down after a well-lived 17 years. He got sick Thursday night and never recovered. Pour one out for Rowdy.

Sorry for your loss. I’ve had dogs my whole life and they really are like family members with their own unique personalities and quirks. But you and Rowdy got 17 of the best years of his and your life together

well, maybe that helps him not get traded when Harris potentially goes on 12/15. Silver lining?

Hopefully but Harris is likely out tonight as well so he’s also dealing with injuries. Amazing embiid is the healthier players on the team right now considering how his career started

They wouldn't trade Maxey.

Take bijan Robinson.  Imagine the option game with bijan, hurts, and our WR. Good luck.

It's just not worth it. I would love an elite RB in this offense but only 2 out of the top 10 rushers last year were first rounders. It's a terrible cost/benefit ratio when you can get top end guys in the middle rounds.

😑

Actually the guy to take is Robinson's backup, Roschon Johnson, converted QB with FB size, but QB hands and intelligence.

Good runner, receiver, blocker, 6'2 223 and runs hard with good speed. Also a ST guy, which is a plus in a backup RB.

May be undervalued playing behind Robinson, projected 3rd round pick.

I have upper deck seats in the end zone looking at the play develop going away from me. It’s an excellent view. If I were to talk through my thoughts as the play was unfolding, this is what it would have sounded like:

"They’re going deep. He’s got Watkins wide open. This should be a touchdown! Oh no, the throw is off target. I hope he still catches it. YES, he caught it. Get up! Be careful, don’t fumble. Oh dammit he fumbled. Maybe he’ll recover it. Damn it, he didn’t. F!”

I remember specifically having that instant of worry about him fumbling because I could sense the danger.

It was not a perfectly thrown ball. A perfectly thrown ball would have resulted in a touchdown. But it did get there and he caught it. At that point, any criticism should be directed at Watkins because he didn’t properly assess the danger in getting up with the ball to run.

If I were him, I would appeal. The officials said there was no facemask, so it was clearly determined there wasn’t. That is what the league ruled at the moment.

I’m not kidding. That would be my argument.

I keep seeing this argument that the Eagles could have had Parsons. They couldn't. The Cowboys only traded back because they knew the Eagles were taking Smith. If they thought for one second the Eagles were drafting Parsons, that trade never happens.

Morey wouldn't just for the sake of trading Maxey.  It would have to be for a top player and there aren't any out there that teams are looking to trade.

I don’t think it’s even fineable if they called it correctly. Feels like they are fining him to shift blame.
