The closest team to them after 9 games at 8-1 with point differential were the 1976 Raiders... who won the Super Bowl.

Remember 1994?  40-9ers?  Eagles 40 SF 9. Steve Young benched. They won the SB. Its one game even if it is a beating.

They are still the clear favorites for the 2nd seed in the NFC.

I'm not predicting an NFCCG or anything but hot take Harry talking heads saying they were exposed or some drivel like that has no meaning since almost every other team has been exposed 3 or more times.

Woah woah hold up! This is so off base.

We won that Niners game 40-8, not 40-9.

Gainwell and Scott can both go, as far as I'm concerned. They do nothing for me.

I hope that this game was finally the eye opener for the team that they need to activate Sermon and see if he can improve on those guys.

To be clear for the strawman builders- NO one is saying Sermon is better. What many of us have been saying is, its worth finding out because Gainwell and Scott arent any good. Especially as short yardage backs.

Minnesota literally has a negative point differential for the season.

They are pretenders.

The thing that really irritates me with the Eagles over the last two weeks is in the most critical times of games they take their best players off the field. Why? Last week they go to the  three tight information along with Watkins and gainwell. So you had Sanders, brown and Smith all on the sideline when theyre down 5 points with three minutes left needing 78 yards. That’s dumb. This week sanders finally gets into a rhythm and going. so then they take him out and put Boston Scott. Scott got three touches to get 8 yards. stop taking out your best Fing players in the biggest moments. play your best players in the biggest moments.

That was such a fun game, and a hell of a debut by Garner. Damn shame that team had the collapse it did.

Wouldn't surprise me if they are still riding high from last week and not even focused on this game.

The only reason I could imagine that Scott got those snaps was that he might be better in pass protection, otherwise I’m at a loss.

I could understand sanders needing a breather so maybe 1 play but all 3 rushes were with Scott. He is not that good. None of the three backs we have are great at pass protection. At least sanders found a rhythm late in that game and looked to get going. It’s idiotic to have him on the sideline at that juncture of the game. Just like it was idiotic to have brown, smith and sanders on the sideline last week on a 2nd and 8 down 5 with under 3 to go.

They are pretending to be 8-2 on the way to pretending to be 12-5 or 13-4?

If you have to pretend, that's a good way to do it.

Now if you are one of those who ignores the concept of a closed system then you can easily have 32 pretenders.

KC lost to the Colts. Pretenders.  KC 30 Raiders 29 . What a joke of a squad.

8 teams lost to Minnesota. Pretenders.

Philly lost to DC. Pretenders.

Its the National Pretenders League!

The best team in the league by delusional point differential significance lost to Green Bay last week.  PRETENDERS

8 teams? What are you talking about?

Minnesota is a pretender, period.

They likely will not win a playoff game.

Contenders don’t get curb stomped at home the way they did today.

The 3 teams i think present the biggest challenge to the eagles are likely Dallas, niners and i still think the lurking buccaneers if they can figure out their oline situation. Dallas is a rival and familiarity. Plus they have weapons on offense with Dak and defensively (most of the time; fortunately not so last week) if they can get a lead is going to create chaos with their pass rush. The niners have weapons and their defense is getting healthier. If Jimmy G doesn’t do anything dumb they are a tough matchup. The bucs i say cause they have Brady and if they can get their oline figured out then i think they become a tough team cause they have weapons and a solid defense. Imo Minnesota is after them along with the giants and Seahawks.

Carson Wentz now officially the backup in D.C.

Quote

Heinicke finished last season with 3,419 passing yards and 20 touchdowns with 15 interceptions after replacing injured starter Ryan Fitzpatrick. But Washington acquired Wentz — a former first-round draft pick — in the offseason, sending Heinicke to the backup role.  Wentz was injured in a victory over the Chicago Bears on Oct. 13 and was placed on injured reserve after having surgery to repair a broken finger on his throwing hand. He has not yet been cleared to return... "We are going to go with Taylor, and we’ll work Carson back in and see where Carson is in terms of when he’s ready to be the backup,” Rivera said. "Then, we’ll go from there.”

It was a long 2. I thought it was closer to 4th and 3 where they had it. It’s why I didn’t understand why they went to the formation to try and draw them offsides. no way in hell the Colts see that formation and think oh yeah you’re just gonna try to sneak it for basically 3 yards in that formation when they stacked that box. with 1:24 left and only 2 timeouts I get the logic where if you fail on 4th then (if make 3 stops) likely get the ball with under 20 seconds so the odds you go down the field and score a td to win are slim. So if you can try to draw them offsides and take the timeout has some merit even if it weren’t the route i go. I just thought it was stupid to run the formation they did trying to do that. The colts new based off formation they weren’t snapping it

Lining up in that formation makes a lot more sense if it was 4th and 2, but I absolutely hate wasting a TO there.

Buff - +107

KC - +64

Phi - +80

Dal - + 84

Min - -2

Thats current point differentials. Thus why ppl think Minny is a fraud

But keep going skippy, you sound so intelligent

They did what they needed to do today and a win is a win, but I’m hoping this team isn’t going the route of the Cardinals from last season and the Steelers from the season before. Two teams that were clearly the best in the league at the halfway point, got checked, and then never really recovered and dumped out in the playoffs in their first game. Heavy lies the crown when you have the best record in the league, so there isn’t much to criticize, but that would be my concern.

They are not playing their best football right now at a time when you want to be ramping up in November and December. A couple things have happened which were easy to predict: the second quarter murderball offense has come back down to earth, the turnover differential has come back to neutral and they’re in the negative in that department the past couple of weeks, and injuries to a few key pieces have done them in. The good news is that the rest of the conference is so wide open with no stand alone team that strikes fear. But I still maintain that San Francisco and Dallas with Dak back are awful matchups for this team. Especially with what we’ve seen the past three weeks.

The good news is that for how much people like to rag on the defense and Gannon, their second half adjustments have been tremendous all season. They’ve only given up double digit points in the second half twice and haven’t given up a TD in the second half in their past four games. They kept them in the game today while the offense was sputtering, gave them a chance to put together a winning drive, and slammed the door shut when all of us expected them to let Indy get into FG range.

Yeah, I mean Minny is going to make the playoffs at this point.

But, they’ve been absolutely handled by Philly and Dallas and had 2 fluke wins against WAS and BUF.

They really could and should have at least 4 losses right now.

They’re just not a serious contender.

If you go back and watch it, it really was a really long 2.  It was also formation similar to a victory formation. And there was no chance they were snapping out of it. I wish i had a pic of it cause I’d post it someone who does should. Pretty sure it was a design similar to what victory formation looks like when tried to draw them offsides.
