At least that was a part of the history of the franchise and had a reason for them wearing it.  No reason for all black uniforms or black helmets at all.

I’m offended or something

All black is dumb. I don’t know why we don’t embrace the silver more, would make us stand out from everybody else.

I’m really offended now, I need a safe space or a sanctuary city

This is kind of ridiculous. We are scoring 3 more PPG than SF, and allowing only 1 more ppg (18 to 17, roughly).

Their last 3 games have been against the Rams, Chargers and Cardinals. Rams are awful, Chargers were mangled with injuries, and the Cardinals are awful and were without Murray.

The Eagles have only scored more than 30 points twice this season, and yet....we're 9-1. Why fans feel a need to sell the team short is astounding. Much as we all hate on Gannon, and he is frustrating, his defense is really good at limiting points scored. Which is sorta the goal.

In summary, F the 49ers. We're the top dog and team to beat still. 49ers will be in a dog fight to even win their division, and those star players they have are very injury prone. It won't be the same team in the playoffs that you see now.

yep. We are better than the 9ers.

Our tackling may be suspect, but that means a guy like Taylor, Henry, Pierce, Robinson, even Zeke will be tough to bring down because they are more physical than our tacklers. A thinner guy like McCaffrey does not present an issue for this team. Especially now that he wont have big gaping holes to run through withour DL improvement.

Jimmy G has no chance against this D. 9ers are every bit the pretender the Vikings are. Theyre getting hot against a weak NFL. Theyll be exposed when they face us.

Doubt they go for two straight HC hires with Herbert.  Doubt they move on from Staley at all but if they do then I would see them targeting someone like Shane Steichen or Frank Reich since they both coached for the Chargers before and are offensive coaches.

I could see DeMeco in Denver.

Glad you are excited.  I am disgusted by the all black.   This team isn't the Raiders or Steelers.  Black wasn't a part of the colors for this franchise for the vast majority of its existence... but now we get to ride that little fad.

Yay progress.   Seems we can get a new helmet that's completely black, but the Kelly greens... those are too hard.  Or we didn't file the paperwork early enough... Or Lurie's ex-wife hates the color... Or whatever other lame excuse exists.

I don't know if I'll like them I'm just excited to be going to an actual eagles home game for the first time in over a decade. And for something that's a first.

You are pointing to black shoes, while they wear white socks, silver pants and kelly green numbers, with a kelly green helmet.  Not exactly 'all black'.

BTW... those black shoes were fined for a major part of that season, because the entire team wasn't wearing them, and the 'official' shoe color was either silver or white.  It took a few weeks before the entire team embraced the black shoes and they all wore them.  BUT... that's still not 'all black' uniforms.  That was 1990.  And the very next year, they went back to white shoes.

And you absolutely should be excited for that.  It is a lot of fun, especially when they win.

What's the best way to get there if you don't want to park at the stadium. Park somewhere else and take Septa?

Park at Chickie and Petes and take their shuttle bus over.

That’s right. While I don’t care about black uniforms now, as they have saturated the league - I do remember the black shoes being a fun thing back then. So, I can imagine some folks looking forward to the all black uniform now w/o thinking that it is dumb.

Yeah. We live in Sussex county Delaware.

Obviously someone is looking forward to it.  Lurie seems to love it, and there's a lot of younger fans who are all about the black.  That's fine.  I just find it frustrating that Lurie acts like he recognizes the desire from so many fans to have the Kellys back (even if just as an alternate uniform)... and somehow he couldn't get that done yet, because of the helmet consideration... BUT managed to get a black helmet lined up first.  Seems we know where his priority truly lies.  And weirdly, I think he'd actually get more money in licensing and merchandise with the kelly green than the black.  But... the Kelly green predates his ownership, and that seems to be something that he isn't interesting in honoring unless forced to.  He bought the team midway through the 1994 season... and changed their uniforms almost as fast as is allowed by the league, getting the new colors in 1996.  And since then, he's not really wanted much to do with the Kelly green.

Those uniforms were a favorite memory of mine.   I liked the uniforms being so different I can’t forget that game. They won 56-21 against the lions and Kevin Curtis had a career day.

This isn’t necessarily true. This is usually the time of year where teams catch momentum one way or the other heading into the playoffs. Arizona and Pittsburgh were both basically in the same situation the Eagles were in the past two seasons, limped into the playoffs the last quarter of the season, and were bounced in the first round. So that’s my fear for this team based on the past three weeks of play with a tough schedule ensuing.

The season is barely half over. Still a long way to go until the playoffs start. No one at this point last year was predicting a Rams/Bengals Super Bowl. Besides the Patriots it feels like it’s always some team out of nowhere. Giants twice, Ravens, Bucs etc. Even in 2017 the Eagles were white hot at this point, cooled off and then got hot again starting in the divisional round.

^^^ this is a good choice.

Also, you can park in the city garages around City Hall, and grab the subway down.   Lots of fun riding the 'Eagles Express' from City Hall down to the stadium.   I used to ride the subway down from Drexel... and it was a lot of fun both ways after a big win.  Sadly, there were few of those back in the late 90s.  But, it was always a good time... and even the commiseration ride back was cathartic as well.

And if you are making a day of it, you could check out the restaurants around City Hall, there are some good ones, or even the Christmas decorations at Macys (old Wanamakers building).

Disagree, Kinda, with 1 bye team, and an extra round of playoffs, I think home field for the top half is more important than ever.

Well yea, seeding is important. My point was more about the "this teams a threat” "this is the next best team” talking points. Dallas had a good week. That’s all it is. I’m wouldn’t be surprised if they collapse on Thanksgiving.

I agree with the other guys.

Go visit old city and center city and then take the train down to the game(or park at chickies if you dont want to make a day of it)

If I had to do... I'd walk around, eat, start drinking, site seeing for the 1pm games. get down to chickies around 4 for the 4pm games, and then head over and take in some tailagting around 6.

We were going to go up and explore downtown. Just got to find the right spot to park where we can catch the train.

What we know about Dallas, Dak and McCarthy:

Dallas this is their time of year to start swooning and having doubts. December is upon us.

McCarthy will make just enough bad decisions in a big game thats close, to screw it up

Dak plays great when everything is going his way, (Defense is smoothering teams, Run game is eating up yards) but when it's tight and he cant rely on the Run game and his defense? He will fall apart as usual.
