I hope this "black helmet" phase is just because teams were too lazy to do anything else with short notice. Hopefully next year they all come up with something cooler.

What we know about Dallas, Dak and McCarthy:

Dallas this is their time of year to start swooning and having doubts. December is upon us.

McCarthy will make just enough bad decisions in a big game thats close, to screw it up

Dak plays great when everything is going his way, (Defense is smoothering teams, Run game is eating up yards) but when it's tight and he cant rely on the Run game and his defense? He will fall apart as usual.

Nah.... first they will impress on Thanksgiving... then they will swoon.

1970s Eagles?

But really, you can't beat the 1980s/early 1990s...

The 1960s with just the silver wings is a bit more meh.

Well yea, seeding is important. My point was more about the "this teams a threat” "this is the next best team” talking points. Dallas had a good week. That’s all it is. I’m wouldn’t be surprised if they collapse on Thanksgiving.

I expect them to beat up on the already beat up Giants... traveling on a short week.   But, I anticipate the classic Dallas December Demise.   (nice alliteration there!)

We were going to go up and explore downtown. Just got to find the right spot to park where we can catch the train.

There is a parking garage under Macy's.  Entrance is at 13th and Chestnut.

Those 70s and 80s helmets really bring it back to me.  Largely we sucked but it was still fun AF to be a kid and a teen at those games.  I was so lucky to go so frequently.

Talking about transpo, I used to go SEPTA bus from NE Philly to the El to the Subway to the Vet.  At 11.  Alone or with one or more friends.  All the time.

Good times....good times.

I had season tickets in the 700 level back in the late 90s.  Sometimes the antics around me were much more entertaining than the action on the field.

I truly hate defending Hurts but Hurts has thrown a Counterpunch, It's landed, and should of f888ked the other team up but things outside of Hurts' control have changed the outcome.

Hurts laid a pass to Quez which would of given the Eagles 1st and 10, in the redzone, with 2 minutes left in the game against the redskis, but Quez fumbled.

Hurts answered the bell of **** play all game, terrible reffing all game, put the Eagles in the redzone, and Quez ruined it.

Trust me, I'll be the first to bash Hurts, but hes dont nothing wrong...yet

Why?

What's the best way to get there if you don't want to park at the stadium. Park somewhere else and take Septa?

Park at the navy yard if you can get in there and then it's an easy walk to the stadium and no traffic at all leave onto 95.  It's a risk though because sometimes they ask for a pass and if you don't have one then you're out of luck but they didn't ask for one this past Redskins game so maybe they aren't anymore.

Things I think about the game:

-Hurts may still be good enough to go all the way with us, but we need Goedert healthy.

-On the flip side, maybe today helps Hurts get more comfortable with the rest of the WR corps. He relies a lot on dump offs to Goedert if his boy AJ isnt open, and thats mostly it for the passing offense. With one of those guys out, clearly Jalen is very uncomfortable. He shouldnt be. And maybe getting through today helps him take the next step in seeing the whole field.

-The Suh and Joseph signings were fantasticl The D had one weakness, even with Jordan Davis. We faced the toughest RB we have seen all season, and even without Davis held him to 84  yards. The pass D had been our strength all season. Adding 2 pieces like that on the DL who made immediate impacts is potentially transformational for this D. Which should be scary for the rest of the league.

-Quez had a big 3rd down conversion early in the game, and then made the big TD catch and held on with big contact. People seem to remember his mistakes but forget some of the big time catches he can make. Todays really dont even compare to some of the other balls he has gone up and grabbed. He gets a bad wrap because our QB struggles to get him consistent opportunities. Ditto Smith. Although with him its not just the QB, its also the offense in general not putting him in position to make plays.

-The team, in general faced adversity over the past 2 weeks. Teams may have thought they had the blueprint to beat us. One team succeeded only because of all of our offensive mistakes. We tightened up the run D, and no team is going to be able to try that again. When the offense breaks out of its funk, games wont even be close again. It was so big to just be able to tough that one out and get 1 week closer to getting our key players back.

Thoughts on the future-

-Aaron Rodgers doesnt stand a chance on Sunday night.

-By the time we see Tennessee and Henry, Suh and Joseph are going to really be up to speed, and Davis may be back. That game wont be close either.

-We arent going to lose another game.

This post worth responding to...

Bolded some of your key thoughts. Agree with the entire post.

This team, to me, feels like a Huge Bomb, about to explode on the NFL.

Defense bolstered in just the right way, ( Thanks Howie) Hate me sum Suh, Love me sum Suh...:Eagle_smiley:

Joseph making his case right away, too. Davis' return will make this D formidable. Running Backs beware.

Secondary no worries, they Ball. Love McP, Slay will regroup, Maddox expected back, young guys filling in nicely.

Jalen is still a work in progress, trending WAY UP. Missing Joe Dirt, no doubt, but this QB1 is a Player. No fear, smart, protective of the ball and dedicated. My list of required traits mostly covered.

Oh, ...and Fun to watch.

Cut em all loose!

Oh, and Aaron better have his Depends on Sunday night...

Pretty crazy how we could have had Zach Wilson. Would he be this bad with the Eagles?

Would Hurts be this good with another team? Thankfully Jets said no and we stuck with Hurts lol

We expect effort above all else from our players, especially our super stars.  We don't take kindly to 'ugly wins'.   And we expect that when we are the better team, that we will prevail.

The Eagles looked completely lost and disinterested against the Colts for large stretches of that game.   They made some boneheaded plays, and frankly, even the last TD actually appeared to be a case of the Colts' D allowing them an easy score to preserve clock and try to get a FG to win it while there was still time and they had one timeout left.   (I'm not saying that they did... but the entire defense parted like the Red Sea for Hurts.)   Fortunately for the Eagles, the Colts' O stinks and they aren't good enough to pass the ball so easily... and the running game was basically off the table.

Unless you ask Bradberry to come up and play run support.   Once again on Sunday he looked allergic to contact and allowed the RB to go right past him through the hole for a huge gain, whereas if he played the position with any physicality (Run support only... not talking about his play against the pass) that's a 3-5 yard run at best.  Instead it turned into about 15-20, iirc.

I think Pittsburgh wanted Hurts and he would have been decent with them.

I'm genuinely not sure how close this was. We would have needed to trade a 2022 1st rounder to jump from 6 to 2. We went the other way.

No matter what though, dodged a bullet.

We hear this all the time, and some QBs just can't play at the NFL level... but also there is a lot to be said about the culture and the organization that the QB lands in that determines whether or not that QB will succeed.  That is why the law of averages just doesn't seem to work for teams without QBs.  They just still have bad QB situations for decade after decade with virtually no reprieve.  And it's why some teams just seem to 'luck' into a good QB after having a good QB.  Say whatever we want about this team... they've had pretty good QB play since Andy Reid came here.  From McNabb to Kolb to Vick to Foles to Wentz to Hurts.... the Eagles have had pretty steady QB play.   Never really the top of the top level like a P. Manning, Brady, Rodgers, Mahomes... (Outside of a few highly exceptional outlier seasons, or more exactly, spurts of seasons), but always seem to have above average QB play.

He sucks. The team is actually playing decent which is highlighting how bad he's been and holding them back.

After the offense only scoring 3 points and losing to the Patriots 10-3, he was asked if he felt like he let his defense down and his only response was "No." He would've been ran out of town here.

He was 9/22 with 77 yards. Also, he's just sucked and been dragging down the team overall in general. They should go back to Flacco.

Per usual the QB will take the brunt of the blame when things go south.

Jets have had a bunch of key injuries on offense Wilson has to play better, seems to me he faces a lot of 3rd and longs as the offense gets behind the chains, any QB in continuous 3rd and longs with a shoddy o line and not much at WR is going to struggle.

Still he needs to be better, he's got all the arm talent in the world to succeed so we'll see if he can pull his head out.
