I get what you’re saying and don’t disagree with your assessment. but if I’m hiring a head coach with a young quarterback that I want to develop which the Texans thought Mills could be at the end of last year then I am not hiring Lovie Smith.  Pep Hamilton is a nice cosch but I want a head coach that is going to help pep Hamilton and my quarterback get developed. i think the smarter hire wouldn’t have been a retread defensive type head coach so you could maximize Hamilton and the head coach to get the most out of mills that at the time they thought could be a good player.

I absolutely agree with your assessment of Lovie.  Terrible move by the Texans.  Seems to me  like he was always just a holding place hire.  Targeting Sean Payton (?) when available is a possibility.  I do wonder if the Smith move was to retain Hamilton and see how he did as an OC.  Could be they weren’t yet ready to offer Pep the HC job.  Most of my friends and in-laws were Oilers fans and now back the Texans and they are just as flummoxed as I am by the Smith hire.

I like Johnson but after being stung by losing both Fip and Reich after the Super Bowl, I suspect that Howie and Sirianni are loading the bench against losing both Shane and Brian.

Man, I am still struggling with the greater than less than symbols.  Hate them.  Someone give me a mnemonic for it.

3 < 4. (3 is less than 4)

4 > 3. (4 is greater than 3)

The lines are close together on the smaller number side... the lines are far apart on the greater number side.

So how does the alligator fit into this equation? 🙃

If Steichen is really the mastermind behind the offense’s success then he should get promoted to HC. It’ll never happen but it should. Look at the Bills offense taking a slight step back without Daboll.

Anybody else see this ? About to order one, the shirt is just as cool as the cause ! Also friendly reminder , if you’re shopping Amazon this Black friday (or any time really) please try to use the affiliate link at the bottom of the message board so the EMB can make a little commission which will  help cover the cost of this fan operated forum! Happy thanksgiving to all , especially VABeachEagle! Appreciate this place more than you’ll ever know !

Alligators are greedy.  They eat the equation.   Has something to do with their medulla oblongata, I think.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

I don’t think Steichen is some kind of mastermind. He calls a pretty simple passing offense and has Stoutland coordinating the run game.

Something is telling me that GMen pull off the shocker today,. I know they have injuries but crazier things have happen in this division.  The Boys are 3-7 over the last 10 Thanksgiving Games including 3 straight losses.   They just had a big win which could lead to a letdown the next game.   Also NFC BEAST games can be tricky since the teams match up so often.  Plus GMen haven't lost back to back games this season.  We'll see but I wouldn't be shocked if they do it honestly.

Dallas got humiliated off the field by .500 TB, and lost to 3-7 Green Bay

KC got punked by Indy, we almost got punked by Indy

We lost to Washington, but destroyed a Minnesota team that Buffalo couldn’t beat at home. Dallas destroyed them worse, but then we beat Dallas.

Meanwhile NYG have beaten the 7-3 Titans and the 7-3 Ravens.

Absolutely it could be a mistake-ridden game on 3 days rest and NYG win handedly. Or Dallas blows them out. Never know on Thursday nighters

I think the Giants have been largely fraudulent.  Something tells me DAL by 24+ today.

Yes. Mailata has some pipes, it actually sounds pretty good. But also weird. Which is perfect.

no way, they get slaughtered, they have a long injury list

Third time with the team.  All I remember about him was he was huge.  Around 340 or so but also pretty tall, IIRC.   Noah Elliss sized.  Keep thinking we might see Elliss added.  Guess either they weren’t impressed or his injury (torn hamstring IIRC) is a longer healing process.
