Test positive for COVID then the Cowboys and Vikings win. What a terrible day. Pats could've easily won that game too if they weren't idiots.

  • Perfect weekend for me. I got to make my long time soul mate my wife officially. And I got a eagles win today. Life is good.

  • Listen up blog.  Enough. These 2 ass clowns are suspended for 2 weeks.  They've both had warnings to quit the personal attacks.  There's a line between trash talk and just abusing other posters a

Why throw the ball right down the middle with no time outs and no way to get OOB?

Wow:  That’s about as bad of clock management that I remember seeing with a minute left, no timeouts.  I’m still not sure what I just witnessed.

The game was over once they overturned the Henry TD.

Would've been cool if the Vikings lost, but they'll lose at least a couple more the rest of the way. It's up to the Eagles to just keep winning.

On par with their 2 minute drill from the 1st half where they wasted two timeouts for no reason. What a sloppy game by them.

That turkey leg looks nasty

Not sure why he caught the punt at the end, it was at the one yard line.

Look on the bright side of it: You could die before the Cowboys or the Vikings beat the Eagles the next time they play, sparing you all kinds of grief.

Cowboys and Vikings made their moves.  Now Jalen will have to pay the rent again on SNF.

Definitely would have been nice to draft Parsons instead of Smith.

Why so Gannon can misuse him like he does Reddick? Parsons would not be what he is now if we had drafted him.

@LeanMeanGMthey've been playing like crap.

Eagles 23 packers 28

Prediction: sanders rushes for 100+

I'll be starting Rodgers in fantasy to avoid this outcome since all my starters either get injured or do nothing

I don't know the NY Giants have a horrible offensive line for years and no real receiving core (OBJ has been probably their best WR in history and he's average at best).

If they improve the oline & get a WR in Free Agency or the draft, NY Giants might be a threat next season they have a good GM now.

NY Giant QB Jones has been sacked 30 times which is 4th in the NFL.

yeah, Ive just never been sold on Jones as their qb

So everyone won yesterday who we needed to lose. Yippee

Yup. Worst possible outcomes. Ugh.

Well GMen played well first half and collapsed in the 2nd to the Boys.   Lions put up a great fight and almost won 4 straight but once again that Defense left them down against the Bills.  Vikings bounced back and beat the Patriots.   The NFC Playoff Picture is coming into shape.  The Birds are getting Greenbay's last stand here.   If they lose, they will be several games out of the last Wild Card spot.   Aaron also have a good record against us.  With that said, I still like our chances.

Is it a 'bad rule' and they are over-officiating it... or is the style of offense now (Specifically more RPOs) running squarely into the intent of that rule?    Seems to me the issue is two part...

Part 1 - The RPO tells the OL to run block - aka, drive your man backwards - and then break off from the one guy you are blocking in a double team, and get to the next level - aka, downfield.

Part 2 - QBs are looking to 'make plays' and so they want to throw the ball and will hold the ball more often than they should and throw it late, rather than just handing it off like they should on the read.

Part 3 - Practice time is dramatically decreased and we are seeing the compound interest on that decreased practice time coming home to roost.  Years of decreased practice time, decreased time actually ON THE FIELD, versus being in the classroom is leading to a lack of muscle memory for how far down field is DOWN FIELD.  And I think the teams aren't stopping practice to correct it often enough, because they frankly don't have the time available to really do it.

Seems to me that the style of offenses that teams are running far more often are running head long into this rule and the consequence of it is that OL are going downfield more than they have in the past.  And, defensive coaches are sending tapes to the league, no doubt, to show how often the OL is actually downfield and have been over the years, so the officials are more aware to be aware of it... and perhaps to look for it.   That doesn't make it over-officiated.  That just means that they are noticing it when it is over-committed.   The illegal man downfield on the Giants that called back a TD, which I'm sure is the genesis of this discussion even without going back to read it, because it helped Dallas tremendously, was a correct call.   And in that particular instance, the OL KNEW he was too far downfield and tried to get back where he was supposed to go.  And perhaps it was actually his backwards movement that drew the eyes of the official to him.  Who knows, but the OL was downfield too far.  Did it affect the play?  That's another instance all together, but things get called all the time that don't really 'affect the play'.  Is a OL lining up too deep in the backfield really that big a deal?  Or if the eligible receiver on the outside covers up the TE?  Does that really affect the play?   Tons of rules have been put into place to help the Offense over the years... let's keep them honest by keeping the ineligible players behind or at the LOS.  Seems to be that the offenses are almost banking on the fact that the officials won't call it as often as it actually happens, just like the Seahawks of the past would grab, bump, mug, etc. WRs all game knowing that officials wouldn't call them on it every time.  Play the game the right way, and it won't be called.

@LeanMeanGM  Eagles 31 Packers 3 Bonus.  Pass D holds Pack to 170 yards passing or less

If they retain Joseph and Suh for the 2023 season and draft Anderson with the Saints pick, the first game of the 2023 season could have that configuration.

Sure Matt but that’s a lot of Ifs though… I have no idea if 72 and 74 will survive this season uninjured or playing at a high level or even if they have the appetite to play another full season. The Saints pick is at 10 now, so we might not even be positioned to get A blue prospect let alone The blue chip prospect.

I do like the idea of drafting/acquiring another NT in 2023 so that we might be able to run a heavy penny set, e.g., Milton-NT-JD (and more importantly having some contingency for injury, other than scouring the streets). I would want another 3T/4i while we’re talking turkey.

In the short-term just seeing a heavy set once JD gets back would be interesting.

His drafting hasn't been very good.

Not to beat on Howie but they have to do a better job with selecting defensive players, specifically in the draft. Seems to be blind spots in general on that side of the ball.
