I agree that the offense has changed but they are calling the penalty tighter this year, like they focused on as stated by the NFL during the preseason.  All it is demonstrating is that the NFL rule is bad. Three yards make better sense.  But I watch a lot of college ball and like some college rules a lot better. The defensive contact and pass interference rules in college are a lot better, IMHO.

What it is demonstrating is that offenses aren't following the rules as written.  That shouldn't be a mandate to change the rules.  NFL offense has it too easy as it is... no reason to make it even easier.

He's been terrible at drafting on the defensive side of the ball.  I posted a few weeks back the last 10 years of defensive picks and it's BAD.

Found my post.

OK, let's do last 10 years of defensive drafts.  Find the impact players for me.  I'm talking guys who can change the outcome of a game.  Hell, let's just look at starters over the last decade.  I'm counting 5 starters and that's a push by counting Maddox a starter.  Davis will be a starter but he's currently 3rd on the depth chart.  Dean might but who knows.  So MAYBE over the last 10 years the Eagles have drafted 7 starters.

Everyone is blowing Howie because he traded for AJ Brown  but this is just atrocious defensive drafting.  I know there's a Chip Kelly year in there but the overall outlook on defense in why they continually look to plug holes with aging vets and is because they can't draft.

2013- Bennie Logan, Earl Wolff, Joe Kruger, Jordan Poyer, David King

2014- Marcus Smith, Jalyen Watkins, Taylor Hart, Ed Reynolds, Beau Allen

2015- Eric Rowe, Jordan Hicks, JaCorey Shepard, Randall Evans, Brian Mihalik

2016- Blake Countess, Jalen Mills, Alex McCallister, Joe Walker

2017- Derek Barnett, Sidney Jones, Rasul Douglas, Nathan Gerry, Elijah Qualls

2018- Avonte Maddox, Josh Sweat

2019- Shareef Miller

2020- Davion Taylor, K'von Wallace, Shaun Bradley, Casey Toohill

2021- Milton Williams, Zech McPhearson, Marlon Tuipulotu, Tarron Jackson, JaCoboy Stevens, Patrick Johnson

2022- Jordan Davis, Nakobe Dean, Kyron Johnson

you back from your ban, LOL

I just learned you get triple the points for winning as you do tying, so a 2-4 team is having a better season than a 0-0-5 team

How they don’t penalize losing and thus the sport hasn’t picked up here may be a metaphor of how different parts of the world view failure

When I was a kid that actually was different and you only got 2 points for a win. They changed it to 3 to get teams to play to win instead of just settling for the draw as that makes for more entertaining games.

I only watch the Eagles now and nothing else but I would say that change actually made a lot of sense. It‘s other things that make this sport boring.

I don’t get the whole draw thing in the first place. Is the sport not popular enough to command airtime for additional overtime?

I genuinely believe it’s a reason why hockey and soccer aren’t more popular in the US. They are content with noncommittal finishes; the last 2-3 hours suddenly become a complete waste of time

His drafting has been piss poor.

And we only got AJ because Ridley gambled on games and Allen Robinson decided to sign with the Rams over us. Pretty scary to think if we had Robinson here rather than AJ.

That's a pretty ugly list of defensive players

UNC/NC State playing a great game here.  I singled out Drake Maye way back in week 1 as a guy to look out for and think he could be a great NFL QB...needs to bulk up a bit though.

People are pro Howie because he's made the playoffs 4 times in the previous 5 seasons (will be 5 in 6). He's done that with a variety of QBs. He has a SB ring too.

There's more to being a GM than just drafting.

I figured the lack of interest was due to very few Americans playing soccer or hockey - of course, based on my logic I’ll be watching the eSports championship in a couple years.

Probably - especially if you played the video game before.

Instead of the black jerseys, I would've liked to see a silver/gray jersey, similar to the pants or helmet below. You could have done kelly green numbers or even the midnight. Would've been more original.

Also, since the lure of the Super Bowl and being a Super Bowl champion has been prominent in the discussions with players like Suh and Joseph and Bradberry and CJGJ, I wonder how the NFL would assess a Mattress Mack approach to handling incentive payments?  Implementing a Mattress Mack approach would certainly stretch cap dollars considerably.

I can’t say I’m looking forward to an era of hastily assembled dream teams composed of grizzled vets, talented headcases and the guys who showed up for camp.

As someone who has watched a lot of esports, I can confirm it's more entertaining than soccer.

As opposed to what? Football? Can you watch a game without a refs decision seemingly out of nowhere determining the outcome? Hockey? Can you even see the puck? Basketball? Baseball?

Soccer is entertaining for the rest of the world, but not the US, because they understand the sport. They relate to it. Anything is boring if you can't relate to it.

Neither am I; however, the Patriots have used that approach quite often in recent years… without the word "hastily.”

He doesn’t get credit for drafting pro bowlers and all pros on other teams
