Curious that there is no update on CJGJ. Hopefully he didn't lacerate a kidney or something. He seemed to be in a lot of pain if it was just some cracked ribs. Unless he just likes being dramatic, maybe.

Just some cracked ribs? Rib injuries are brutally painful.

This is crazy. They're worse than us and Dallas.

All they need is Jimmy G to game manage. They have the offensive weapons to put up some points too.

That NFL players play with or through all the time. His reaction was much more than what you usually see.

The Eagles should draft a RB, I don't see any value in signing one unless one comes at a bargain. Don't waste valuable cap dollars on that position.

In theory, yes. But the Eagles have a lot of needs and only 4 picks. They have free agents at safety, corner, both linebackers, DT, RB, and RG. They'll have to spend some money in free agency. A guy like Dameon Pierce would have been nice in last year's draft, but they traded away their 4th round picks. Really hope Nakobe Dean can play!

I'm not very concerned about the Niners. As long as we don't shoot ourselves in the foot, they don't have a playoff caliber offense to match up. McCaffrey hasn't really changed that.

Yup.  And this is also about 'hot takes' to a certain extent.  49ers are 4-0 in their last four, and haven't allowed second half points in a long time.   They haven't allowed more than 16 points in those 4 weeks.   Meanwhile, the Eagles lost a game and squeaked out another against a bad team (Indy).  Dallas was beaten by a bad Packers team.   3-1 and giving up lots of points is not as impressive as 4-0 and a stifling defense.   And in the playoffs, the defense is the part that shows up most reliably, rather than the offenses, which can be far more streaky.   Vikings also have a bad loss in that stretch of 4 games to the Cowboys.

Their short passing game with our CBs playing 10 yards off will be death by a thousand cuts

Could have been a few things at once there too.  Did he get stunned in the head a little AND have the pain of the ribs?  Did he get a stinger at the same time?  Who knows?

Nick spilled the beans!

"We're running some tests and gathering information. I can tell you that it is in the rib area."

I'm excited for Titans/Packers. You can run on the Titans, despite what their stats say, because they use so many light boxes. They're not going to stop the run with 6 guys, so they'll have to go out of their comfort zone to stop us. I do think Vrabel will have some fun ideas.

Conversely, while Henry is good, the Titans OL is not. We should be able to control the LOS against them. Cinci whipped them yesterday. Going to be a fun brawl.

We may get to see your imagined Penny Reddick - Suh - Davis - Joseph - Graham

Yup. I think he's going to be a good one, too.

Only if a team interviews a white coach first.  Have to meet the Jim Bob rule.

I wanted DeMeco Ryans instead of Sirianni.  I think he's going to be a stud coach.  Sirianni is proving to be the right hire but part of me still wants that defensive minded coach.  Man I love a dominant defense.

Yep. I've both bruised and cracked ribs, and saw my brother almost pass out from the pain shortly after he cracked his. In my experience, the level of pain is highly dependent on location, and same for how well it responds to meds. My cracked ribs in my oblique when I was in my 20's was horribly painful and every breath had to be extremely shallow to avoid wincing. Pain killers didn't really help all that much. A laugh or cough would shut my brain down. Conversely, I recently bruised some ribs near my sternum and it was far less painful, easily managed with 800mg ibuprofen, but still had to avoid deep breaths or putting pressure on the area.

Yup, which means we won't get it.

Need more out of special teams, in all aspects. Covey's time here is short. Went back and checked all of Boston Scott's returns in 2019 and think I am ready for full time KR & PR duty here for Scott. Shows more explosion, shiftiness, suddenness and overall upside in these returns. We need to explore every little edge on the roster, that can be gained here BEFORE the playoffs. Covey's roster spot, as I have been saying for months, is an ABSOLUTE WASTE. Just being "not terrible" isn't good enough. Hopefully, Davis is ready soon so we can move on here.

Here's some Bosco 2019 returns...

Suggestion for Nick.  A huge amount of snaps on STs are for players that aren’t starters.  This week on walkthrough Wednesday, practice STs.  On rest Thursday, practice STs off on the side field and maybe use one of the padded practices. On tryout Tuesday, he should bring in every PS and stretch FA RS out there. Frankly, at this point I elevate Allen and see what he can offer, at least as a gunner.

You have loaded down with coaching "consultants”, maybe one for STs.

Given the move to try Scott at KOR and the option of using Devonta as the PR, I'd move Covey down and bring up Allen.  Nothing to lose.

When Davis comes back, someone will have to be cut.

Whats wild is, theres a team(s) that prefer and want Jonny Gannon over Ryans

I can't imagine why, other than maybe teams think Gannon can be a better head coach than a DC, as a DC he's been pretty average.

Where as Meco has been lights out.

Meco would have instant credibility with his players as a coach, he was well respected as a player and achieved success at the highest level.

I was actually surprised Lurie ever let him out of the building and didn't hire him in some capacity.🤷‍♂️

So who is the next go to for Oline since JR left us?

How has Mailata been doing this season so far? He seems to be getting beat lately

Besides getting the story wrong (Doug didn’t tank), I hope the nfl doesn’t go to a lottery. I don’t think there is real tanking in the NFL, at least not like the NBA/NHL.

But it seems like Payton hates the eagles, or am I just imagining things?

Brown hasn't been right between the ankle and illness, but I think this offense does a good job of sticking with what works for them game to game. Last night was the run game, so when you're averaging 7.5 ypc on the ground, you don't have to force the passing attack. They fed AJ in the PIT game and DeVonta in the first WAS game. People can talk about how they gave Brown a big deal or spent a first rounder on DeVonta and want more consistent production out of them, but the identity and strength of this team has been the offensive line and run game. That's their bread and butter and AJ and DeVonta provide an extra threat that they didn't have last year to help that aspect of the offense.

Amen

We also had nowhere near the talent at WR during Doug's tenure that we do now IMO

Yes, Howie spent 3 seasons messing up the roster with bad picks and FA signings.
