I don't even know what the debate is at this point, but Hurts is on pace to shatter the QB rushing attempt record by like 30 or so carries.

People are acting as though he's turned into some elite passer in addition to his running.

He's improved, definitely. Though as the season goes on, he's reverting more towards the norm (as of right now).

He throws the same amount per game, but he's also running more than he was last season. Because his completion percentage has gone up, people suddenly believe he's some elite QB that we should pay whatever he asks for.

Improvement? Absolutely. We'll see where he stands at the end of the season.

This isn’t entirely true.

Tackles for loss is not an official stat, so it’s up to the stat tracking site as to whether they want to count a sack or not.

Take this game:

https://www.espn.com/nfl/boxscore?gameId=401030865

Dante Fowler recorded a sack with a 9 yard loss. ESPN credited him for a tackle for loss on the play.

However….

https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/201811110ram.htm

Pro-Football-Reference did not. There is no absolute rule on unofficial stats one way or the other.

It's listed in the official NFL gamebook for each game, so I think that would more or less make it an officially tracked stat:

I don't think you are. I haven't seen anyone say they like it. Not just here either, even all the podcasts/articles I've read with it. It got a "meh" at best.

exactly

I didnt give up on him lol. I know exactly what he is. He's never going to be Mahomes, Allen, Rodgers, ETC. He's never going to be someone who can shred a defense like Manning, Brady,

He's a running QB whos ok at passing.

That's a pretty good QB of a 10-1 team.

Let's revisit this. 😉 Talk more later Steeler phan. I am sure you will be tooting your horn on his next bad game.

I think he still has improvement as a passer, not sure where that ceiling is but as said I think his lack of arm strength will limit how high that ceiling is.

Not to beat a dead horse but again Steve young was a pretty unpolished passer coming in, he had a string arm and was an athlete but as a locket passer he was a mess his footwork was erratic and with hurts with his work ethic and coachability I think he had the ability to become a more polished pocket passer and ti be fair to him he's shown glimpses here and there of being able to win from the pocket, the texans game comes to mind where he just stood in the pocket in the face of the rush and dropped dimes on that cover 2 granted it was the Texans and playoff degenses won't be the Texans but he showed improvement as a pocket passer that I wasnt sure he had in him.

So I believe he still can improve there ,question though again is how much, where's his ceiling as a passer?

for the lawyer types in here

Lets say you get a building permit for a detatched garage. Approved, have the permit since September.

You start excavation and have it framed out to pour concrete. Now township comes and says you cant put it there. When they already approved it to go there.

After about $20k already in to the project now have a work stop order. Hearing scheduled, not till 12/20.

What sort of recourse is there, if any?

schedule a consultation with an attorney

That's not a good thing.

You get 6 months to start working from the issue date of the permit(which assuming you mean September of 2022) you're within those dates.

If your permit is 10000% accurate with the location, sizes, measurements, I'd start pouring and tell them to get F888ed

that would be nice.

I guess we can only do that if we hired a lawyer to look over everything and tell us we would be ok to do so.

Wouldnt want to go ahead with the build and then they tell us to tear it all down.

So now Hurts is Mahomes...gotcha.

Wilson is a try hard doofus, which used to kind of be tolerable because he was really good at football now it's just sad and pathetic like him and the broncos .

Right now, Im wondering if its worth it.

If they tell us we cant build, and they arent going to reimburse the money we spent (because they approved it), then I will have to.

I wonder if at this point there is any reason to yet. Or if I just have to put up with another 3 week delay on my project and hope it plays out in my favor. Menwhile all of our lumber was delivered yesterday and will be sitting out in the weather while we wait for this hearing.

It's funny that Hurts probably saves about 3 sacks a game by avoiding the rush and not being a Wentz and play hero ball and people dismiss that. He's running too much. Saying they rather him sit in the pocket and take a hit so he doesn't run too much. Peeps dismiss all of his unguardable running talents that promote good team play. This league has changed. You have to be able to run some to be successful. The days of Tom Brady statue type QBs are done. Brady has a mediciocre offensive line and can't escape and now you see he isn't all of that. Rather have Hurts style. Gets you out of a lot of jams and plays smart football. Take it all day, with a few of his warts. Can't have your cake and eat it too. I want him to do what it takes to win. Throw out the stats geeks.

When people like me say he bailed out of the pocket too soon we mean the pocket was clean and he was protected

Definitely meet with a lawyer to discuss.

I have some experience with fighting townships getting variances to build homes.  Not to be negative, but it's almost impossible to fight city hall.  You might get the approval after approaching that $20k in legal fees.  Worst case is that you lose the 20k in the project.  The town will have some fine print reason for why the permit was issued but the current construction isn't OK.  I wouldn't expect an "oh, we gave you a permit, sorry about the confusion."
