I am not arguing against Hurts running less, but his run counts are inflated by sneaks and kneel-downs.

It would also be nice if there were stats readily available that distinguish between a scramble and designed run.

Hurts has 125 "rushes” on the year, Fields has 122, and Lamar has 111. All have played 11 games.

Mariota is next at 82.

I don’t think kneel downs would account for an inflated number. QB sneaks are more risky than a kneel down, and i don’t think they should be discounted. It’s another blow that he’s taking, with bodies piling on as well.

Id much prefer he run less, but there are times and games where it’s clearly been our best option. If we want him to be the long term answer, he’s gotta lower those numbers. If we don’t have long term plans for him, let him run to his hearts content

I missed this- This week it came out that Jerry Jones was in a picture from 1957 that shows him participating in wall of white students trying to keep white school segragated.....

Just another distraction for the Boys. Gonna bring in Odell who will also be a distraction....

Just so that we are clear... one guy doesn't win a game.  It takes a team.   There are 11 players on the field at all times, not 1.

Hey greend.  Good to see you popping in here and there.

Thanks!

This is a dumb "controversy”. 1950s Alabama was a completely different time and place, and he’s what, 15 years old here? It’s just dumb all around. And now I see Lebron made some remark that the media only questioned him about Kyries recent controversy, but didn’t ask him about this. Modern day athletes who get involved in politics just suck

@LeanMeanGM

Eagles 24

Titans 27

Derrick Henry 160+ rushing yards.

Which 'he'?  I am assuming the Head Coach.

Sirianni is calling the sneaks. (Which I still would discount, as there isn't the potential for a collision.)

Sirianni is calling the designed runs for Hurts.

Sirianni is calling the option plays that sort of dictate themselves if Hurts keeps the ball.

Yes perhaps "they” is a better descriptor. Both need to lower his numbers or he won’t have a long career.

any buck luck this rifle season?

My mom bagged her first buck on the 1st day this year. Missing a brow tine so it was a 7 pointer. Nice deer.

I had work, and arrived with my kids just in time to help drag it out of the woods and eat dinner on the fire afterwards.

Perfect timing on your help and dinner. No bucks this year for me yet. Did get a bear and a doe so far. Thanks, tell your Mom I said congrats!!!

It may be a "dumb controversey" , but I Love that it is a distraction for the team. And again you MAY HAVE miss the point I was making - even though it was so clearly written ... "Just another distraction for the Boys. Gonna bring in Odell who will also be a distraction..."

So you think this is a nothing burger to the POC  players on the team? Interesting.  I am not so sure about that.

I'd disagree that that's an inflation.  The way they are running sneaks with him, they are basically using him as a battering ram, and he nearly took a helmet to helmet collision from Vander Esche jumping over the line like a heat seeking missile, head first.   Those are dangerous plays, IMO, for his long term health.   AND... they are now bringing in other players to push him from behind.  I think that can increase the chance that he have some one roll up on his legs or step on his ankle as they try to push him.

Kneel downs shouldn't even be counted as a rushing 'attempt'.   Should be a completely separate category now.

Yes, because it’s a nothing burger story. It’s insanely stupid.

And as far as OBJ goes, the players have been actively trying to recruit him. The cowboys love being controversial

Are sneaks more or less dangerous than passing from the pocket?

I think when they collapse again this year- things like this are always distractions, yes Jerry likes being in the headlines, but this is also his downfall. Has always been.

Distractions do matter, they do affect the team. Maybe these wont affect it much, but again I am not so sure.

I’m into that draft. Would rather go CB/DT/DE on first 2 days, doesn’t matter the order. Just get future starters at those positions. I’d rather grab that RB from UCLA in round 3.

I'm comfortable with Jalen Carter and/or Bryan Bresee at DT, but if it isn't one of those two then I believe DT can be more of a 2024 draft need.  I believe Howie can get what he needs for 2023 at DT from the free agency marketplace, just as he has done with Suh and Joseph this season.  With the 2023 Day one and Day Two picks I would rather see a double dip at EDGE/DE rather than DE/DT ... unless the DT is Carter or Bresee.

I’d like to get a 3T to replace Fletch, but aside from Carter/Bresee early I haven’t found those type of guys later. DE seems to have a bit more depth, and it is more about what type of DE you want at the end of the 1st (stand up vs base). Agreed  on RB, should be targeting a guy in the 3rd - probably will need to maneuver to get the right one.

Agreed

More.  Sneak guarantees he's taking contact, every time.   Passing from the pocket means that if the OL does their job properly, he's clean.

Them collapsing because Jerry Jones was in high school when they allowed black kids to mix with white kids. Think about how insane that sounds

Wow Casual with the racism there? It's not the one item..  Distractions, ALL OF THEM, add up.

Nevermind, you keep missing the overall point being made.  My bad, I forgot who I was discussing this with.

Took a glance at Walterfootballs draft…has us taking Myles Murphy at 6, Clark Phillips at 31, and Henry To’oTo’o at 63

Hope you bought a new laptop on Black Friday. You're going to need it.
