With Pascal and Smith both limited by groin injuries, something tells me they elevate Greg Ward on Sunday.

If they have to cut somebody for Davis might as well be Covey. Ward can fair catch.

Don't even tell him just pull his parking pass and let them tell him to take a hike again.

Kaep, lamar, how many times do we need to see this movie before people recognize that we know the ending?

Kaep came pretty damn close to getting a ring. If Hurts can get us that close, I won't complain. Lots of other things can happen over the course of a game to tip the scales in your favor when it's that close.

San Fran was getting crushed, it was 28-6 in the third quarter. They were saved by that weird blackout that killed all momentum.

I have a tough time believing a blackout suddenly made the Ravens defense incompetent against a supposedly ineffectual QB. Seems like a position that's far too subjective when there are more objective factors to consider. Jacoby Jones, for example, was a far bigger factor in the game than the blackout was.

Have to avoid looking at one fluky season in a vacuum. The contracts/decisions have multi year impact on the franchise

Oh don't get me wrong, I don't want to give him a massive $50M/year deal. Just saying that Kaep lost that game by a pretty slim margin, so not sure he's the best example to use there. If Hurts gets us that close this year, I'll gladly watch that movie.

He was a below .500 QB who had 1 lucky season, it's called an outlier

By this logic, our 2017 season was an outlier too. If it gets us in striking distance to relive that experience again, I'll gladly take an outlier.

The argument is you don’t pay big money to bet on outliers

I don't want to pay him big money. My argument is there are far better examples to pick from than a QB who came extremely close to winning the ultimate prize.

Sure, you believe what you want.

San Fran put up 6 points in the first half, had multiple turnovers, and were down 28-6. Then the blackout happened and they rallied back. Those are just the facts. Logic would dictate the blackout had some effect on that game

Yes, I'd rather believe that a particular player (whose contributions to the final score are easily and objectively quantifiable) were a far bigger factor, than the subjective and almost magical effect a blackout had on boosting only one team's offense. Did the blackout have some small effect? Perhaps. Was it enough to discredit and downplay SF's offensive performance? Nope.

What you didn't see was the fairy dust that was sprinkled on the San Fran players during the blackout that gave them their magical powers!

Yes psychology has no place in sports. You’ve obviously never played a competitive sport

Sport has a lot of routines and rituals, so when they are disturbed, some players, coaches, etc cannot get back into the flow of the game naturally or nerves/doubts etc creep in. Physically fine, but out of the moment and struggle to get back into it.  It's why some teams simulate the longer Super Bowl half time as it's outside of the norm and they need to prepare for it.

I have and psychology is certainly a factor, but to speculate on the positive or negative psychological effect of a game stoppage on only one team? Nah, not enough to justify the use of it to downplay an entire team's offensive performance. It's a reach when there are more objective factors you can point to as the reason for the final result.

Yep, Covey has done nothing.
