Weren't you in the Carson Strong is going to eventually overtake Hurts as QB camp this summer?

That's epic. You could have stated that he would be on someone's practice squad and still look stupid. Izel getting burned again. 🔥

It's going to be the future primary color of the Eagles after Nike re-works their design.

I know this will be an unpopular take but I think it would be a great primary color with black outlines around the numbers and helmet wings

reminds me of when I was a kid and I drew an eagles helmet with a black pen and a green highlighter lol

This is a very deceiving Rueben Frank kind of stat.  This is a very dink and dunk offense that isn't producing the big play.  Longest pass play of the year is the 53 yard TD to Quez against the Vikings.

I think I accounted for every completion using NextGen Stats.  I also looked at the NFL.com stats and there's some discrepancy.  Not sure if they count 20+ yard plays based off of air yards traveled or outcome of the play.  NFL.com says the Eagles have 37 pass plays of 20+ yards.  I counted 30 from NextGen.

8 teams have more 20+ yard pass plays than the Eagles.   NFL.com has the Eagles down for 7 40+ yard pass plays which does not line up with NextGen at all.  With 7, there are 13 teams tied or ahead of the Eagles for pass plays over 40 yards.

LOS or behind- 53 completions

1-5 yards- 49 completions

5-10 yards- 53 completions

10-15 yards- 26 completions

15-20 yards- 17 completions

20+ yards- 13 completions

This isn't meant to take anything away from what Hurts has done this year.  Just showing how stats can be deceiving.  155 of Hurts completions are within 10 yards of the LOS or nearly 73% of his passes.  25% of Hurts throws have been completed at or behind the LOS.  Hurts is making the safe throw and that helps in his excellent lack of INTs.

With AJ Brown, DeVonta Smith, Dallas Goedert and Quez Watkins this offense should have more big plays.  Hurts throwing nearly 3/4 of his passes within 10 yards is a complete waste of what this insanely talented group of WR can do.

Officially secured the title of worst deadline trade of the last decade.

There are a few others in the running... but he might be the odds on favorite right now.  Genard Avery?  Golden Tate?

Unless he does something eventually, it's his spot to lose

It’s a joke that there’s a black and white photo… Those players aren’t in the same breath.

Yes and No.  I'm pretty sure I heard last season that Brady, Mahomes, and Rodgers ranked 1-3 in most passes 0-5 yards from the LOS.  The key for a QB is to adjust as soon as the defense starts crowding the LOS or switches to a single-high safety.  I think Hurts did a decent job of switching from running to throwing when Green Bay finally switched up their coverage to single-high last week.

Hurts is improving.  I'm just greedy.  I look at the weapons he has and what they are capable of.  Quez is a DEEP threat.  DeVonta Smith averaged 17 ypc his final year at Alabama with 23 TD.  AJ Brown can abuse CB.  All 3 of these guys are being grossly underutilized compared to their abilities.  I keep saying it but why do the Eagles have such a hard time getting the ball to their guys with the chance for RAC.  The play to Christian Watson was a great example of what we don't see with the Eagles.  When's the last time you saw DeVonta Smith streaking across the field in the 15-20 yard range and being thrown the ball with the ability to run for a big gain?  It doesn't happen.  He's being thrown 7-8 yard curls or WR screens.

I have to provide stats to prove my legal case here, right? I am going by what is called the eye test. Stats are for geeks.

Tate?  He caught a pass to win a playoff game.

The Eagles sent him on his way so they could keep Nellie for another year of overpayment.

You mean let him walk in FA?  He was a rental.

This isn't a "very dink and dunk offense that isn't producing big plays".   Hurts is tied for the second highest YPA in the league.

You listed things such as "8 teams have more 20+ yard pass plays than the Eagles" and that there are "13 teams tied or ahead of the Eagles for pass plays over 40 yards" but you're completely missing the context that Hurts has the 18th most pass attempts in the league.

Eagles are picking up big chunks of yards when they pass the ball.  Furthermore if you look at QBs who have played at least 9 games this season then Hurts ranks 4th highest in the league for average air yards per attempt.  He has the 7th most pass attempts in the league for passes 20+ yards down the field, the 4th most pass attempts in the league for passes 30+ yards down the field, the 5th most pass attempts in the league for pass attempts 40+ yards down the field, 7th most pass attempts in the league for passes 50+ yards down the field and this is again when he has only the 18th most attempts.

With Bobby Quinn getting all those double teams, sure!

I’m not sure how much I buy that analysis, but I have seen a good amount of quality rushes that amounted to nothing because the QB hit his back foot and got rid of the ball against soft coverage.

He had a great rush and was pulling on Ryan’s collar, and Ryan was somehow able to deliver a strike to Campbell. It had to have been the best throw of the season for Ryan. It was completely out of nowhere.
