Manning, Peterson, Moss, Gronk

Edit: Just saw I picked the same as @garingovt2000. Still, this is the only right answer.

My team of Brady, Peterson, Fitzgerald and Gronk is better.

Brady > Manning and we saw prime Moss with Brady and while they came close they did not win a Super Bowl.  Can you imagine prime Fitzgerald with Brady?  It'd be worth the tradeoff of not having Moss in order to upgrade from Manning to Brady.

I’m not sure how much I buy that analysis, but I have seen a good amount of quality rushes that amounted to nothing because the QB hit his back foot and got rid of the ball against soft coverage.

He had a great rush and was pulling on Ryan’s collar, and Ryan was somehow able to deliver a strike to Campbell. It had to have been the best throw of the season for Ryan. It was completely out of nowhere.

Our pass rush has been good this season, but the soft coverage is a killer. The Washington game in particular was egregious.

This isn't a "very dink and dunk offense that isn't producing big plays".   Hurts is tied for the second highest YPA in the league.

You listed things such as "8 teams have more 20+ yard pass plays than the Eagles" and that there are "13 teams tied or ahead of the Eagles for pass plays over 40 yards" but you're completely missing the context that Hurts has the 18th most pass attempts in the league.

Eagles are picking up big chunks of yards when they pass the ball.  Furthermore if you look at QBs who have played at least 9 games this season then Hurts ranks 4th highest in the league for average air yards per attempt.  He has the 7th most pass attempts in the league for passes 20+ yards down the field, the 4th most pass attempts in the league for passes 30+ yards down the field, the 5th most pass attempts in the league for pass attempts 40+ yards down the field, 7th most pass attempts in the league for passes 50+ yards down the field and this is again when he has only the 18th most attempts.

https://www.fantasypros.com/nfl/advanced-stats-qb.php

Are we judging him on completions or attempts?  Where are these big plays because I don't see them.  Again, 73% of his completions are 10 yards and under.  Goedert has been a YAC monster with 374 of his 544 yards coming YAC.  AJ Brown has 342 of his 841 YAC and DeVonta Smith has 222 YAC for his 609 total yards. My biggest complaint continues to be the use of Smith.  2/3 of his yards are coming with nothing after the catch.  For his style of play and what he's great at, that's not good.  He's being used as a possession WR and that's just wrong.

I just think there's more to be had.

Avery at least had 3 sacks, 6 TFL, 10 QB hits and about 55 tackles.  No where near the 4th round pick they gave up for him but Quinn is on Ryan Kerrigan's level right now.  He's done nothing.

Hurts is not better than Mahomes.

With Mahomes you might have a point.

But what is Allen doing that's so far above what Hurts is doing?

And let me note:  I was 100% off the Hurts train before this season.  I was ready to take the Saints pick and move up like we did for Carson and take one of the young guys.  But for real though:  what is it about Allen that's such a slam dunk better than Hurts at this point?

If I could find completions I would use that but I can only find attempts. That said, he has the second highest YPA at in the league and  at a 67.3 completion percentage I think it's safe to assume that he is completing a lot of his 10+ yard passes.  If you looked at other QBs in the league I highly doubt that 73% of completions being 10 yards or under is going to be that high of a number.  It's probably on the lower end comparatively to other QBs.  In fact let's take a look at that right now using this site and figuring out what % of throws for some of the QBs have traveled at least 10 yards or further in the air this season.

https://www.fantasypros.com/nfl/advanced-stats-qb.php

Percentage of QB attempts this season that have traveled 10+ air yards (QB selection mostly random).

Tua Tagovailoa 38.7%

Jalen Hurts 34.8%

Patrick Mahomes 31.9%

Dak Presscott 31.9%

Joe Burrow 29.6%

Josh Allen 29.3%

Lamar Jackson 29.2%

Kirk Cousins 28.5%

Justin Herbert 26.6%

Tom Brady 25.1%

Aaron Rodgers 23.2%

How DeVonta Smith is being used isn't on Hurts, that is on the coaching staff for how they are using him.

EDIT: To further supplement those air yard attempts that are 10+ yards, the QB rating for Hurts at certain parts of the field to further show he is likely completely a good amount of those attempts.

Manning ($3), Moss ($4), Smith ($2), Gates ($2) and Largent ($1) because I have to have all four positions but since a had the dollar, I took the best possession WR in NFL history.

The only right answer is Brady $1. Circumvent the rules of the game by giving him below market value and invest in TB12 on the side.

Hard to argue with it. What do you think of Burrow?

Is Davis going to active considering he’s not on the injury report?

He's not on the injury report because he's still on IR. They have until tomorrow afternoon to activate him.

I'll say this, I think Hurts gives us a better chance before his rookie contract is up over any of this incredibly overhyped draft class that I was flamed for before the CFB season for saying lets just wait before we say this is a historically good class.
