I respectfully disagree.  Having him take up a roster spot for four weeks unnecessarily is the dumb move.  My belief is that he will be lucky to be back healthy even after the four weeks.

Not that it matters, but I don’t think any team would claim him and block him. You don’t want to piss off an agent or player in that scenario.

I think they would, especially since today was the deadline to come off the retired/reserve list. They wouldn’t even need to add him to their roster, just block him from clearing waivers. I don’t think anyone is worried about pissing off Jenkins, and his agent is CAA. They aren’t going to stick their neck out for a retired player when they represent a ton of other clients.

Shouldn’t hurts aspire to paying more than the rent? Shouldn’t the mortgage be due?

He shouldn’t be satisfied being a renter

Long time since your last post. Do better after your stoppage.

What’s his base salary? What if Jenkins decided to unretire and show up, forcing his way onto the 53? The team would be on the hook with a player who doesn’t want to be there. It’s not so simple as claim him and block the Eagles.

Better he rent and then get evicted

He would definitely default on a mortgage, you’re right.

Also, Jenkins turns 35 in a couple of weeks. I don’t think teams would actually feel the need to get cute and block the Eagles from claiming him. He’s not worth the fuss.

He can’t. Today was the deadline to come off the retired list. His base salary was restructured to vet minimum to help give the Saints cap relief, but that in itself is a moot point since he has to stay retired, and since he would have to stay retired, he wouldn’t be getting paid anything.

it really is that simple at this point in the season. Opposing teams get a free block that costs nothing that Jenkins can’t do anything about.

So you’re saying they could put up a Jenkins stoppage?

Like I said in my first post, it doesn’t matter anyway because it’s not happening. I was talking theoretically if the Saints had actually waived him.

I know, I’m just saying how theoretically easy it would be for teams to block it specifically because of todays deadline. The only way he could play is by clearing waivers and becoming a free agent through a loophole. It’s the same scenario that happened to Deion Sanders in 2002, which 5 teams took advantage of.

LSU isn't dead yet...

I have the sound off. Why isn’t Daniels in at QB for LSU?

That was going to be the next post after they scored a TD here.   lol

Nussmeier has some Favre in him.  Just fling it up there and hope for the best.

Especially if he's only interested in coming out of retirement for them if the Saints agree to cut him.  Also, would he even be subject to waivers?  He has way more than 4 years in the league.

Welp... nvm.  Terrible play call for 4th and less than a yard.

Jalen Carter too beast

Are college coaches aware of a play called the QB sneak?

Carter is such a beast.

Yup... pretty much.

Give LSU credit though... they aren't giving up.
