I think Suh holds cox accountable.

Agree there.  I think Suh brings a whole different Alpha mentality that has probably humbled Fletcher Cox.

  • Perfect weekend for me. I got to make my long time soul mate my wife officially. And I got a eagles win today. Life is good.

I think those numbers are a bit misleading though because their big dogs go stretches without making a play.  I just want more consistency.  I don't want a 20 sack/year guy but I would like more substantial starters I guess.  I think Fletcher Cox has tainted my view on their DL investment.  I think he should have been gone 3 years ago and I hope they learn their lesson with him on how they handle Hargrave.

It also seems their DL, as high as the sack number is, isn't dominant.  I need to stop comparing to JJ days because as good as his pass rush was, that defense was equally as frustrating.

Again, I'm not complaining where they are right now.  I'm thrilled with the team.  Outside of the penalties, yesterday's game was so fun to watch.  I'm just doing out loud thinking of total investment in certain areas.  Next year will be interesting to see what they do with Cox, BG, Hargrave, Barnett.  Some serious retooling will be going on.

Sacks are the most misleading stat for DL, you have to look at overall pressure. Play a bad passing team, get ahead and you can rack up sacks, play a veteran QB and you can pressure him all day and not get a sack b/c he gets rid of the ball.

And sacks tend to come in bunches for that reason, when you get ahead against a mediocre pass blocking line, you can get 5-6 sacks, but it doesn't make you a great DL.

Yea, I'm sure the 15 Texans fans would be dying to see Baker Mayfield. Ticket sales would be through the roof.

That and a sack on say first duen for a 1 yard loss isn't as impressive as a sack on 3rd and 5 to force a punt, or a sack fumble to get the ball back.

For instance cox was credited with a sack which was hardly impressive as. He merely ran the QB out of bounds a yard behind the LOS, good hustle by cox but it's not like cox beat his block and crushed the QB.

Dacks also go hand in hand with the back 7 if they can't cover then most qbs can hit the open tarhet before the rush gets there.

Having said that the eagles pass rush was really good ahsinst titans.

Baker Mayfield is a step up from Matt Ryan. On 2nd thought..

What about the three Johnsons on the roster?

So nick foles at this point likely is and they don’t use him.

I think it's so embarrassing that they can't pull him till they exhaust all options. They are tanking at this point. He's perfect. They are gonna eat a lot of dead money there tho.

Josh Johnson was picked up. But got to believe baker has more upside than Johnson.

Johnson might be their 'safety' school type. Baker would be better than Johnson, but is also prone to the big mistake from time to time as well.   They need a QB that just gets the ball to their playmakers, not tries to make plays himself.

Frankly, they should have flagged that, and in retrospect, he should be fined for it.  That's poor sportsmanship, IMO.

It ain’t cheating if you don’t get caught!

Oh baker is turnover prone. Frankly a he’s regressed and who knows if he’s mature enough to lead the niners. However the one really good year in Cleveland he had talent like the niners do. I’m guessing with cmc and deebo they still become run heavy to try and limit his pass attempts. I still think it’s worth the risk especially if purdy gets hurt or struggles.

Getting to be worse than soccer. Something needs to be done to curb this before it gets out of hand.

Listen, they may get all the way up to 19 fans, okay?

Colts are a dysfunctional organization on their way down.  Bringing Philip Rivers in instead of drafting a first round QB was a small mistake, but a mistake.  They took a huge risk bringing Wentz in, and it turned out to be compounding the first mistake by again not drafting a QB.  They turfed Wentz out the door and made another big mistake bringing Matt Ryan in -- who, at that point, wasn't even as good as Wentz.

I keep hearing what a good GM Chris Ballard is, but it's either him making these bad decisions or he's being overruled by the owner in making these decisions.  Either way, Ballard should be gone after this season.

That's why I am saying he should be fined.   AND... it should have been a flag for delay of game.   Since they missed it as it happened, it should be a fine only.  This deals with the integrity of the game.  We don't need players flopping like that, and stoppages kill the flow of the game and make it less enjoyable to watch.  It's why I hate a super tightly officiated game.  Let them play... that's what everyone tunes in to watch and pays the money to see.   No one paid to watch yellow handkerchiefs be tossed about.   Only the egregious stuff should be called, not the ticky tack.  And reviews should be clear and obvious and reviewed in real speed, not super slow motion.   Officiate at the speed of the game, not frame by frame.  Reviews should be there to fix egregious mistakes on the field, not micromanage.  Once again, the flow of the game is destroyed by these prolonged reviews.  The ref on the field doesn't need to run over and watch the film.  The process should be the 'expedited review' style that they use for scoring plays.  Take 30 seconds, watch each angle in real speed and if its not obviously wrong... the game continues.

Yeah until Carson Strong showed up and outplayed everyone.

Baker is gonna be a 49er by the end of the day.

Didn't watch the Colts-Turds game last night.  Looked at the score this morning and holy $hit.  What the hell happened?   Wasn't expecting Indy to beat them but damn.

I watched the 1st half.  Colts tried to get cute with a bunch of passing plays, but it turns out they have nobody to block the Cowboys.  It was close in the first half, but you could just feel the blow-out coming.

Cowboys sadly have a very good offense.  They are better than they were when we played them.
