I don't watch the Turds much, but Brown looks better than Diggs to me.  That's a loss for them.

Their next man up is The Accomplice. He has not been good thus far in his career. This may be a big deal

43m a year. Oh my god

I’m actually surprised they went verlander and not rodon. Rodon is much younger and like average yearly salary likely going to be less. Verlander was great this year but he’s going to be 40 next year. risk relying on him to just be as great next year cause he was this past year simply due to his age and how he could fall off a cliff at some point.

Why didn't they just keep Degrom?

Steve Cohen is like early 2000's Dan Snyder. Spending tons of money on older over the hill guys. What a dope. Good luck with the geriatric "aces" next season, jackass.

That and a sack on say first duen for a 1 yard loss isn't as impressive as a sack on 3rd and 5 to force a punt, or a sack fumble to get the ball back.

For instance cox was credited with a sack which was hardly impressive as. He merely ran the QB out of bounds a yard behind the LOS, good hustle by cox but it's not like cox beat his block and crushed the QB.

Dacks also go hand in hand with the back 7 if they can't cover then most qbs can hit the open tarhet before the rush gets there.

Having said that the eagles pass rush was really good ahsinst titans.

ONe stat I like, next gen or someone counts how often a DL "wins" in 2.5 seconds, that is, it takes away the QB for the most part (though hard to beat a 3 step drop in any case b/c the play is usually over in 2.5 seconds). That's the kind of thing you want to look at, does the lineman get penetration fast enough to take away slow developing plays and shrink the offensive playbook.

Alright, since there's not enough to fight about right now...let's try this: Position by position, 2022 vs 2017 vs 2004 Eagles.  Ranked #1-3

I'm going to group positionally:

QB: Wentz/Foles (SB trumps all).  Foles' NFCCG and Super Bowl are the bar that's been set.  Hurts... then McNabb.

RB: Blount/Ajayi/Clement, Westbrook, Sanders

WR: Brown/Smith/Watkins, Jeffery/Smith/Agholor, TO (and who?... exactly)

TE: Ertz/Celek/Burton, Goedert/Stoll, Lewis/Smith.  (Smith might have been the most responsible for our loss in that SB.)

OTs: Runyan/Thomas, Peters/BigV/Johnson, Mailata/Johnson.  (I might get push back here, but Peters only played half that season in 2017.)

OGs: Wiz/Brooks, Dickerson/Seumalo, Hicks/Mayberry

Cs : Kelce.   There is no second place.

Edge: Graham/Long/Barnett/Curry, Reddick/Sweat/Graham, Kearse/Burgess/Douglas/McDougle

DTs: Hargrave/Suh/Davis/Cox/Joseph, Cox/Jernigan, Walker/Simon

OLBs: Kendricks/Bradham, White, Jones/Simoneau

MLB: Hicks, Trotter, Edwards

CBs: Slay/Bradberry/Maddox, Lito/Brown/Hood, Mills, et al.

S: Dawkins...   big gap        ... Jenkins/McLeod, Epps/CJGJ.    (though McLeod made a TD saving play in the SB all alone and suplexed Cooks!)

I like sacks. I like sacks a lot more than pressures, pass rush win rates, and all that other nonsense.

Sometimes analytics are overvalued.

Mets have the two oldest aces in the league.

Good grief, why?  That is a LOT to spend on a couple of very old aces.

LOLMets continues.

Indy scored and missed a two point conversion to tie.

Dallas came back and Dak threw a pick, but the refs ruled it incomplete on the field. For some odd reason, Saturday didn’t challenge it. It was tough to tell if the ball hit the ground or not, but it was such a big moment in the game, you throw that challenge flag regardless.

He didn’t, seemed like the players gave up at that moment too and the rout was on

It clearly hit the ground. Saturday didn't challenge it because it would have been stupid to do so.

Considering what happened after, I disagree

Can't wait till this Sunday.  I know most on here view the Turds as enemy #1 but the Giants are just as hated to me.

Expect the Eagles to have extra compensatory picks in 2024 for potentially losing most of Hargraves, Cox, Seuamalo, Epps, Edwards, White, Bradberry & CJG. Think he's gunning for more picks in 2023 and to add to 2025 with the Saints pick. This game tonight is huge.

I don't get why fans think that Seumalo won't be re-signed. He's a good player in the prime of his career. The Eagles traditionally pay those guys, especially when they're home grown. Not only that, but he's probably the most versatile lineman we have. Heck, in a pinch he could probably start at any of the five positions on the line and do a decent job.

I don't want to look too much in to it because Hargrave is playing at a high level and consistently for the time being, and Cox seems to have stepped up with the arrival of Suh and Joseph but with ALLLL of the money and draft picks invested in the DL, to only have one DL play 50% of the snaps just seems like such a waste.  I know the starters were pulled early too and that effects the snap counts but I just feel the DL is hugely overrated.

With that being said, maybe I need to look at the Eagles DL like the Phils bullpen.  They are going to pay guys a lot of money for non starter type of roles.  Sweat had a great game yesterday.  Hargrave is playing at a top level. BG is still getting paid a lot of money...14 snaps but had a sack.  Cox is getting paid a ton, 49% of the snaps but made some plays.  They don't have a horse on the DL though.  They don't have that every day threat that you game plan against.

I said this before the draft because this is an ongoing theme for the Eagles DL...I think for what the Eagles do you can build a very solid DL with veterans instead of 1st round picks and $100s of millions.  I don't think Davis is a bust, but I do look at his impact on a game compared to where he was drafted.  Trading up for a run stuffer to play 40% of the snaps in a passing league just seems silly.  He isn't Vita Vea.  I don't know, I'm just so underwhelmed with the DL even after a good game because they aren't consistent at it.   It took bringing in to 31+ year old veterans off the street more than halfway through the season to "wake up" the DT on the team who are already getting paid handsomely.

These are just out loud thoughts, don't want it to come off as complaining after a great win and shutting down Henry.  Again, just looking at the amount invested vs the amount played and production.

I think when we look back at the game, we are going to see some three DT packages.  Pretty sure I saw both Suh and Cox playing the DE slot.  No need to rush in Davis back.  When they substituted at the end of the game, we saw some Davis and Williams together.  Nice to see some of that. Note their DEs were the Johnson brothers.  I think Reddick got so many snaps because they had Patrick Johnson as the emergency DE.

I am not worried about how slowly they have brought Davis along.  Let him learn.  Can you imagine how Suh might helps Williams grow and what Davis can learn from Cox, Joseph and Hargrave?  That DT room should be a strong influence on the rookie and the sophomore.

Is there a chance week 16 gets flexed to Saturday night football instead of Raiders/Steelers? Or do they not have flex option for Saturday games?

But how can you know what's going to happen in the future?

Here's what I saw. I wasn't watching a lot of the game but I kinda tuned in when it was 21-19. And then the Cowboys were driving. I saw the Colts player "intercept" the ball and I got excited, especially when he gesticulated to the sideline that they should challenge the incomplete call. I figured, well, he would know!

And then I saw the replay and my heart sank. The ball hit the ground. It was obvious. The announcers saw it. The Colts saw it. No one thought it was a controversial decision except for Eagles fans.

Dean needs to be kept clean in order to be effective.  But, with the 5 man front, that is the goal.  Then he can fly to the ball.  He did well yesterday, but I think he's much more useful on D than as a ST.  As a ST, his instincts won't come into play the same way as they do at LB.

He played STs yesterday like he had been singled out for playing badly. I noticed he avoided the blockers.  Christian Elliss may have been a threat to our underperforming reserve LBs on STs.

Assuming Kelce moves on, I don’t think they’ll want to integrate 2 new starters into the line-up.

Giants' fans are comical.  Lots of them calling in to sports radio last night to defend Daniel Jones because he has no weapons, and his OL isn't that great, etc.

What they don't understand is Daniel Jones is EASILY replaced.  Worst thing they could do is commit money to him long term.  Even franchise tagging him for one year would be somewhere around $40M.  Giants should be in the QB draft in April; they could find another Daniel Jones anywhere in the first 3 rounds.

Is there any more overhyped story in sports right now than "where is Odell going to sign?" A dude who averaged 38 yards per game last year coming off a major injury he suffered in February? He's not that good anymore and that was before the injury.

Admittedly though, it will be funny when he signs somewhere other than Dallas, simply because their fans and organization seem to think this is like recruiting Randy Moss in his prime, because he's not going to the Cowboys.

It’s likely they never overturn the call, I understand that. But football can be a real emotional game. As the coach, throw the challenge to support your guys giving it their all. Let the officials come down with the call to not overturn, and use that as motivation - "The cowboys AND refs are against us, let’s rally”

Instead he did nothing, and the Colts went completely limp, getting routed in historical fashion. Sure glad he saved that challenge and timeout now!
