Is there any more overhyped story in sports right now than "where is Odell going to sign?" A dude who averaged 38 yards per game last year coming off a major injury he suffered in February? He's not that good anymore and that was before the injury.

Admittedly though, it will be funny when he signs somewhere other than Dallas, simply because their fans and organization seem to think this is like recruiting Randy Moss in his prime, because he's not going to the Cowboys.

I thought he was supposed to announce where he was signing like 3 weeks ago?

  • Perfect weekend for me. I got to make my long time soul mate my wife officially. And I got a eagles win today. Life is good.

  • Listen up blog.  Enough. These 2 ass clowns are suspended for 2 weeks.  They've both had warnings to quit the personal attacks.  There's a line between trash talk and just abusing other posters a

Btw credit to AJ Brown for not getting ejected yesterday. If I were him and Adams twisted my ankle to try to hurt me, I'd have pulled his helmet off and punched him as hard as I could in the face. What an absolute dope move. That's not a football play. That's Haynesworth stomping on your head esque. It wasn't even during a fumble in a scrum or anything either. He made a tackle, grabbed his ankle, and twisted it. He should be suspended, honestly. The C word is reserved for people like Adams.

I don't get why fans think that Seumalo won't be re-signed. He's a good player in the prime of his career. The Eagles traditionally pay those guys, especially when they're home grown. Not only that, but he's probably the most versatile lineman we have. Heck, in a pinch he could probably start at any of the five positions on the line and do a decent job.

I'm not against signing him. But I think he will get paid. Not sure we can afford him. Remember what happened with Vatai, who wasn't even as good. Was a tackle, but ended up playing guard himself. I'd like to see if Dillard can play left guard and if so, can move Dickerson to RG. But Dillard may not be that cheap, but I'd assume cheaper than Seumalo. And does Dillard want to stay and play guard anyway?

For those that still care, Birds with Friends brought up Noah Elliss. They said he’s still on the team and still on IR but they never saw him in the locker room once all year.

I also listen to Birds with Friends and can confirm your report for all of those bloggers that don't trust @LeanMeanGM

There's a lot of fans that don't like him, for some reason. Not sure if it's because of how bad he was in 2017 or what, but he's clearly not that player anymore. He's also very smart in the meeting room. Mailata said Seumalo is right up there with Kelce as two of the smartest guys on the team.

I like sacks. I like sacks a lot more than pressures, pass rush win rates, and all that other nonsense.

Sometimes analytics are overvalued.

I think the problem with stats like pressures and pass rush win rates is that they seem more subjective than objective.  I mean does a pass rusher get a quicker win rate when there's a screen or pass option play that leaves them unblocked? I do think they have some relevance.  Certainly you can look at a game like Sunday's and see that the d-line just killed the Titans.

With 5 weeks to go, the mvp race is down to 4, maybe 5 players.

Mahomes still number 1

Hurts has elevated into number 2

Burrow and Allen are basically 3/4, interchangeably.

Then Tua a long shot at 5.

Any of those guys could go on a torrid streak the last 5 weeks and take it. Should be fun

But how can you know what's going to happen in the future?

Here's what I saw. I wasn't watching a lot of the game but I kinda tuned in when it was 21-19. And then the Cowboys were driving. I saw the Colts player "intercept" the ball and I got excited, especially when he gesticulated to the sideline that they should challenge the incomplete call. I figured, well, he would know!

And then I saw the replay and my heart sank. The ball hit the ground. It was obvious. The announcers saw it. The Colts saw it. No one thought it was a controversial decision except for Eagles fans.

I thought it hit the ground on replay. I get why they didn’t challenge it. Went back and watched it multiple times, there’s no way they overturn what the call in the field was, which was incompletion.

It was a totally dirty and classless play.  There's no place for it in the game.

Okay, so we can all agree that after yesterday that Jalen Hurts is a strong MVP candidate. Amazing eh? Personally, put Mahomes number 1, by a scoatch, as I have watched each one of their games. A little more consistent and doing amazing things without Tyreek, impresses me. Do critique him a lil tho for some of his hero ball turnovers.

I have Burrow above Hurts

Yes exactly. I think it’s fine to look at and track those things, but it gets completely off the rails when you have people claiming they’re better indicators than actual sacks.

Even if you have a pressure, or a high pass rush rate, the QB could still get a completion on that play.

A sack leaves no ambiguity.

Of course you so.

Jalen and Mahomes are neck and neck for MVP.

Betting odds say otherwise, but hey let's instead go by the person who has had issue with Hurts since he's been drafted.

Hurts is #2 behinds Mahomes due to the Eagles having the best record. No way Allen/Burrow are above him.

Why wouldn't you go for it if you were the 49ers?  They have a good team and Brock Purdy does not inspire confidence.

I mean, unless some team claims him first?

You just said it "you are going for it”.

That’s why you don’t do it.

$12M/yr projected, that’s more than I figured - inflation…

Definitely not Allen. He's struggled with that elbow. And picks. And Burrow started slow. But he has Chase back and can make up ground. Yeah got him at 3 right now. Chiefs should win out. And it will be close with Mahomes and Hurts.

I can see him getting 10M a year. It would be nice going into next season with both tackles and guards from the previous year. Also can address needs in the draft and not worry about it
