2022: probably going to have a winning record and win AFC South again

Pretty wild decision to fire the guy

Makes you wonder what was going on behind the scenes. Perhaps a power struggle with Vrabel, with Brown as the tipping point.

Possibly defending a TE?

I think has better speed and agility than Edwards.  Edwards is good when he can read and react.  It's not like he's a bruiser shedding O-linemen in blocks.  He's best when he diagnosis and can get to the ball by getting past the line.  He was aggressive on Sunday and played very physical. So I don't know that Dean is worse than Edwards in that role.  I also think they need faster LBs when they have a running threat at QB.  Dean would be able to chase down Jones in the open field.  Edwards was slow to get to Tannehill when he escaped the pocket.  I don't think he was assigned in a shadowing the QB type role but they were likely in cover-4 or cover-2 defenses where he could put eyes on the QB.  The problem is that he could not get to the QB when he took off in time to beat him to the first down marker.  I think Dean gives them a better chance at stopping that first down.  I also think he would be adequate against the run.  Arguably getting Barkley is more about having better speed and agility.

I dispute he is good against the run. Dean showed more instincts in five minutes. And yes i would rather see him on a te over edwards.

Edwards is a likable try hard but he is a replacement level jag

I agree with this mostly.  I think Edwards has played well this year for the team.  I understand the team not wanting to take him out of the starting line up early in the season.  He still is probably the best tackler on the defense.  He doesn't go for the hit like White vs. just wrapping up the ball-carrier.  So he is technically a sound player but his athletic limitations aren't ever going to change.  He played well on Sunday and was physical but the defensive line also had more to do with the running game getting stopped.

My wife tried to offer me $300 to go to chicago.  That was right after she asked me for $300.

Keep that and buy a new driver. There's a reason why they're leaving that ish hole and moving to Arlington Heights

Drafting Malik Willis and trading AJ is the two biggest decisions he's made in the last year.  Unless there is something else behind the scenes.

He was probably thinking who is better off with an extension. Simmons or AJ? I like Bruks a lot tho

Yep exactly. Defence really needs a blue chip player and we could get one in the top 5

Don't think it's a coincidence he gets fired days after his star WR he traded away dominates his team.

Shove it American!

Robinson paying Dupree of an ACL, drafting a cornerback with a broken back, trading a 2 for Julio and Vrabel hating his guts, and then trading away Brown probably had Vrabel ready to pound some Bud Lights and fighting everyone in the front office.

I'm guessing there are reasons for it.  Maybe higher ups are really frustrated with Brown coming here and seeing him contribute to an 11-1 record here, versus them scraping by at 7-5.   Or other internal issues.   BUT, when you trade a guy like Brown for so little, you had better be right.  Seems the higher ups don't believe he was.

That could do it.

So ESPN does this big story about Andrew Luck and why he retired.  When in reality it was just what we all thought.  He didn't want to play anymore and risk further injury.  Did I get that right?

Yeah I started reading it and skimmed thru, and didn’t really understand the point. They just detail his daily life now, but I’m not sure who really cares

Naw that’s howie leaving the bathroom at the Novacare

We owe Jon Robinson a sincere heartfelt thank you.    I feel bad he lost his job over it, but we all know Howie 's track record drafting WR's. So without the help from Jon Robinson, we would NEVER have a WR the caliber of Brown.

Devonta Smith not withstanding, Devonta is a pretty good WR, but he will never be an AJ Brown.

Robinson deserved to be fired cause the tannehill contract structure really hurt their ability to get out of the deal or even move him. It prevented keeping some guys like brown and even go after better QB like rodgers which it was mentioned he was really interested in going there. Add on the bud Dupree signing. That said Burks actually had been coming on as of late. Fortunate for us but he wasn’t able to play the rest of the game after the Epps hit. But i don’t think burks becomes brown but i do think he can be a very good WR.

I forgot about Robinson drafting Isaiah Wilson in the first round too. Yikes.

Not surprised. Stafford done for the year and who knows what he does long term. I wouldn’t be surprised if Stafford retires this offseason. Apparently his wife has wanted him to in the past with his back injuries and now concussions. I really wouldn’t be shocked if he did. I don’t think he does but i don’t think it’s a slam dunk he comes back especially if the rams oline doesn’t get fixed.

also a chance to screw the niners as an added bonus
