Eagles run a surprise onside kick.  Because Nick just discovered that it's legal and he wants to show everyone how smart and stealthy he is.

Surprised you gave a prediction and gave away your competitive advantage.

We did get Smith.

Then again he must have been easy to scout.

Still, glad we broke that spell with him.

Smith was a no-brainer after the Jefferson miss.   Just draft the Heismann trophy winner that just put up bigger numbers than the dude that put up monster numbers that you passed on.

You'll notice that rather than dipping back into the WR pool in the draft, where they are scared of the deep waters, they instead invested a first round pick and $100M for a vet WR.

Similarly, this organization seems to be unable to draft CBs right now as well... so they traded for Slay... and have spent the last two years grabbing vet CBs late to avoid the CB position in the draft as well.

Bill Buckner flubs the ball.

The umpire says the batter was out of the box so its a strike and a do over.

Buckner flubs it again.

That was McNabb in the SB with his pick do-over pick.

Reid built 5 teams that were good enough to win and McNabb never had that Aikman, Flacco, Foles type playoff run to finish the deal.

Yeah but his early years he easily made the playoffs with very little help. When receivers and QBs could still get killed

And Driscoll is Lane’s backup/protégé, they’re probably as close as any of em. I see

Yeah, I don't see Driscoll as the protégé.  He's good depth though.

Maybe Jalen Hurts isnt even the starter anymore. We'll have a competitive advantage when we surprise them with Minshew out of the gate!

No lie, I'd actually go an purchase a Minshew jersey immediately if they did that.

I’d add unable to draft a safety to your Cb and WR list.

Yeah right. Like anyone here knew that’s how it would go down.

People fully expected us to pass on him. And plenty of people here didn’t want him because of his weight.

Thank god we did. No way that pick could’ve netted us a player like Brown. That was just the right thing to do.

That sadly is still very true. Atleast we now did find competent corners outside the draft. I’ll call that a huge improvement.

I don’t think it’s all that lazy of a comparison. Personally, I think comparing him to Vick would be lazier.

McNabb clearly a better talent but young McNabb had good athleticism and throughout his career would miss some easy throws.

The one thing I’ll give to Hurts over McNabb is consistency. I feel like we know what we’re getting in Hurts. McNabb would look like modern day Mahomes one week then the next week look like Jamarcus Russell.

Thats the worst take i have read in quite a while

Has there been a team with a more controversial group of QBs in the last 13 seasons?

McNabb > Vick > Foles > Bradford > Wentz > Foles > Wentz > Hurts

Talk about a model for debate and inconsistency. Wonder if that’s just a coincidence…

So quez is the PR according to the depth chart

That means nothing since it's only accounting for the players currently on the 53-man roster. I'm pretty confident that Covey is going to be called up from the practice squad this weekend and will be the punt returner against the Lions. That'll probably be the plan for the following week unless he flubs it up completely. They'll eventually have to fully promote him to the active roster since you can only play that game for a few weeks, but that shouldn't be too difficult. They can put Dillard on IR at a moment's notice.

Speaking of practice squad promotion games, it looks like the Cowboys are really embracing the process. As far as I can tell, they don't have a backup quarterback or a kicker on their current roster. (Unless they did something recently.) So they'll obviously promote guys for the opener.

I'm talking about how the front office read the situation.   Easy scouting job.  Just take the Heismann trophy winner that put up huge stats, even better than the guy that they past on, which were already unworldly.

If the voice of the people here mattered, then we wouldn't have passed on Jefferson for Reagor.

Ok saying McNabb was good but inconsistent. Right

@LeanMeanGM:

Eagles 27, Lions 21.

Defense turns them away in the red zone to seal it late.

@LeanMeanGM

Eagles 48, Lions 9

Kyzir White with an Int

(Crushing win, and afterwards everyone will claim they saw it coming and that it would mean nothing against the Lions.)

It's going to be Covey.

Stealth!

I watched the press conferences.  A whole lot of coach speak for wait and see.  Note he brought up Covey on his own without being prompted.   Forgotten tidbit brought up. Mentor (Fipp) v student (Clay)

Gannon wants to say more but holds his cards a bit.  On CGJ, he said when he is ready, he’ll play.

Shane got the best question. Will he miss JimBob’s game management. Coachspeak answer but good question.

@LeanMeanGM

Eagles 27, Lions 13

Marcus Epps gets an INT
