Wentz was MVP in 2017

Embiid in 20 and 21

Harper in 21

Hurts in 2022.

City has had a run of MVPs over the last half decade, it's a pretty impressive display of great individual talent. Philly sports has been pretty great lately.

Yeah, Embiid really wasn’t MVP but you’re on a roll.

Are you ignoring who actually won MVP and inserting your preferred Philly icon?

He forgot Giroux when they gave it to that joke on the Devils instead.

Here's a prediction: When the Eagles place Siposs on IR, they will not sign a punter to the 53-man roster. Instead they will sign a veteran to the practice squad and then activate him from there for three straight games. Eventually they'll have to put him on the active roster, but they can buy three weeks of roster flexibility that way.

I also agree about what someone said earlier about signing Anthony Harris. Anytime K'Von Wallace is near a play, something bad is happening. He's a disaster waiting to happen.

Do you start Minshew next week?

They shouldn't look past the Bears (we are 9-point road favorites), but I'd be fine with them resting Johnson next week.

He is essential for the Dallas game.

Hope he's not a flash in the pan but he sure looked good today. Well, unless Eagles play the Niners post season then he can look like what he is, a wet-behind-the-ears rookie.

Haven’t been in this thread at all today. Do we have any updates on injuries to Myron Johnson, siposs, Blankenship, and lane Johnson?

He has to be slowest safety we have had, mentally and physically. His tackles are always him being dragged around. People laughed at Jenkins mention a few weeks ago. We needed depth for just this exact reason. I am pretty sure Howie can make that happen if he wants to. Wallace is putrid and must have dirty pix. Harris blows and is washed. Agree with punter on practice squad. Most likely Kern.

That feels like getting cute a bit early. I'm more worried about Brown, Smith, Oline, Dline injuries than Hurts

From what I gather, Johnson is okay. I expect the worst from Siposs and Blankenship. Dunno a thing about Johnson.

I have no idea what you mean. I hope the Eagles start Hurts at quarterback against the Bears. Why wouldn't they?

The thought had/has nothing to do with Hurts … it has to do with 3-10

Mahomes is the Giannis of the NFL.  He is, by far, the best, most dominant player in the league.  Whether the stats bear it out or not (and they usually do), he's the best player in the league.  Last year, the year before that, this year, next year.  This year, the INTs are up.  While Travis Kelce is awesome, his overall supporting cast doesn't remotely measure up to what Hurts enjoys.

BUT...that doesn't matter.  The MVP award isn't there for doing more with less, IMO.  Hurts has more wins, less prolific passing numbers...but cleaner ones...and even better when you throw in the running.

Mahomes could win the award every year and IS the best player in the league.  But Hurts earned it this year over him.  Hurts also only needs 2 more really good games.  If he gets that, he's only going to be judged off 15 games and his case is complete.  The rest of the pack needs 4.

Then why pick out the QB versus any other position. Hard to comprehend how sitting Hurts has nothing to do with Hurts but okay

Speaking of Minshew, he should spend some time in practice holding for FGs.  Considering that Siposs is out, Covey gets obliterated on returns 2-3 times per game, and continuity is so important in that role, let's get someone who won't get hurt in there working with Jake.  Minshew makes the most sense there.

People act like Mahomes plays with a bunch of stiffs. Maybe not household names. Lot of good role players on that team with McKinnon, Pacheko, Hardman (when healthy) Schuster, Scantling etc. And have 2 good backup tight ends and helluva offensive line as well. I'd actually argue they have more  depth on offense than Eagles overall. And plenty of speed. Eagles with no Goedert and Kelce playing all world as well, should give this award to Hurts all day long. Best record in the league Bubs. No fluke here.

Also, not to be understated, Hurts in the red zone and 4th down has been almost automatic. Mahomes not as good this year and the TOs to boot.

Good idea.  Could also maybe use him on some FG fakes, if the opportunity ever presents itself.

Ideally it's never needed, but absolutely, great flexibility.

Johnson could have continued, if needed.  Will know more about them all tomorrow.

I realize it is a rich man's problem, but it's a problem nonetheless.   If the Eagles do win the next 2 weeks, they'll have 2 meaningless regular season games followed by a bye week.

Someone should go back and look it up, but recent history just feels like teams with that much rest (or at least meaningless practice games) heading into a divisional playoff game have had an increased risk of starting slow and getting caught with their pants down.

I would probably play the starters with an aggressive game plan in the first half of each of the last 2 regular season games.  Keep them sharp, mitigate injury risk by half.

They should invest in a good belt.

Detroit is still a team that makes me nervous for the future.  Getting Jameson Williams back gives them a couple of deep threats to go with 2 good backs.  They have a really good O-Line and have that Rams pick which could also be Will Anderson along side Hutchinson.

In his sixteen regular season starts since the Giants disaster last season, Hurts is...

318/469 (67.8%), 3,866 yards, 25 TDs, and 4 INTs.  That's a 107.1 passer rating.

He's also rushed for 775 yards (5.0 ypc) and 12 TDs.
