I don’t disagree with either of you.  The bottom line of what you are saying is that there is no objective (uncrude) measure for comparing Offenses, only subjective personal opinions.  Is that right.

I think it’s a fools errand to compare offense nearly 20 years apart. The game has changed significantly

Eagles sign Anthony Harris.

You remember, TO was sent home about halfway through that season, and McNabb was dealing with a sports hernia the whole season and eventually went to IR.  Thomas missed almost the whole year at LT.  Then, Herremanns went out.  They finished with Mike MacMahon at QB.  Was that really a TO, Westbrook, McNabb team?

The team’s record of 6-10 is an indication of all that turmoil.  I mentioned it because it technically fit the three named players description.  Interestingly, even though he was sent home about halfway through the season, TO still led the team in receiving yards (according to ProFootballReference.com)

TO in 2004 - 14 games, 77 for 1200 and 14TDs

AJ in 13 - 65 for 1020 and 10

Looking at the raw numbers it’s not as close as I thought it was

Then again... who else did they have to throw the ball to?

TO - 77 for 1200 14TDs.
Pinkston - 36 for 676 1 TD.
Mitchell - 22 for 377 2 TD.

Lewis - 29 for 267 2 TD.
Smith - 34 for 377 3 TD.

Westbrook - 73 for 703 6 TDs.

On 547 attempts.

Brown - 65 for 1020 10. TDs.
Smith - 66 for 775 5 TD.
Watkins - 26 for 315 3 TD.

Goedert - 43 for 544 3 TD.

On 388 attempts.

And that team also couldn't run like this one.  In total 16 games, only 376 rushing attempts.

This team in 13 games has 433 rushing attempts already.

I think 'efficiency' can definitely be given to Brown, so its not just about gross stats.

Obviously.  Numbers can be used, but need to be qualified for older eras compared to current eras.   But, comparing teams from years gone by or players can't really be done 100% objectively... ever.  Numbers can be used to provide some context, but those numbers should also be discussed within the context of their own era as well.

Not a great feat when you look at who the other options were.  Greg Ward led the 2019 team in receptions.  Travis Fulgham led that team in receiving yards.   But, that team was only those 3 for about 8 games.

So I had some time so I made my own model to predict the draft order.  Below is the table showing the relevant teams.  Wins are highlighted in yellow.  Bolded games are between two bad teams.  Here is a scenario where NO loses out.  I have Arizona and Vegas winless as well.

Here is a scenario where NO wins two games.  That appears to be the high end, pick #11.

That KC at LV game, along with other week 18 games, may be influenced by starters sitting.

Hmmm....

TO vs. AJ Brown... I might give the nod to Brown.
Westbrook vs. Sanders... Definitely Westbrook.
McNabb vs. Hurts...   Hard to go against Hurts.

And for the rest:
As a unit OL:  Thomas, Hicks, Fraley, Mayberry, Runyan. vs.  Mailata, Dickerson, Kelce, Seumalo, Johnson    I'd give the edge to that OL to pass block, and the edge to this OL to run block.  Slight lean to this unit, as they are slightly better at pass blocking than that one was at run blocking.

TE: Chad Lewis & LJ Smith. vs. Goedert & Stoll, etc.   Gotta go with this crew.  Smith might have been singlehandedly most responsible for that loss in the SB.

WR2: Pinkston vs. Smith - interestingly two twigs at #2 WR.  Smith over Pinkston, easily.  Different styles, but going Smith.

WR3: Mitchell vs. Watkins - Different roles... almost more appropriate to line up Pinkston vs. Watkins and Mitchell vs. Smith.  Even so... I go Smith and Watkins over Pinkston and Mitchell, however you slice it.

RB2:  Did the '04 team even have a #2?  Dorsey Levens vs. Gainwell/Scott.  Tough, honestly.  Slight nod to this group.  Why so close?  Because Levens wasn't terrible as a short yardage back.  I wish this team had a short yardage back that wasn't also the QB.

So... yeah, I think we have to go with this team slightly over that one.  That team really couldn't run at will.  This team can.

I’d go TO over Brown

Westbrook over Sanders

Hurts (this year) over McNabb

This Oline over that one

Goedert over Lewis

Smith over Pinkston

Watkins and Mitchell a wash

Levens over Scott/Gainwell

Just went through the exact same thing this weekend. Friday I was fine. Saturday I woke up with the highest fever I’ve had in years. Covid test negative as well. Sunday afternoon I started feeling better but I still have a bunch of congestion, a small cough, and a sore throat.

You must have passed it to me. A hole

They aren’t impressed with K’Von. Probably last year as an Eagle.

To active roster? Guess that means no Blankenship or CJGJ in the next 3 weeks.

I love all of these guys coming along and spiking the football, like they are the ones who saw Hurts making this kind of a leap.  Or they have a hand in his development.  Imagine needing to come to a message board for your weekly affirmation.

I love all of these pillars in here acting like they haven't been eating crow all year long after months of "Hurts is RB 1, can't throw the football, we need Carson Strong, we need Russell Wilson, we need Watson, Swag" LOL.  Oddly enough, it was the same guys who have been saying since year 1 that Sanders is a bust.

I never said Hurts was going to be MVP.  What I did say is that he was a winner, a gamer and a hard worker.  Because of that he had a good chance of improving
