I don’t disagree with either of you.  The bottom line of what you are saying is that there is no objective (uncrude) measure for comparing Offenses, only subjective personal opinions.  Is that right?

No an either or really. All models are wrong. Some are useful

Premier being more of a technicality, but still applies.

Tell us how you really feel La canfora. I’m not sure if he’s reporting the kingsbury news or saying if they don’t then the bidwell’s don’t care about winning.

So I had some time so I made my own model to predict the draft order.  Below is the table showing the relevant teams.  Wins are highlighted in yellow.  Bolded games are between two bad teams.  Here is a scenario where NO loses out.  I have Arizona and Vegas winless as well.

Here is a scenario where NO wins two games.  That appears to be the high end, pick #11.

That KC at LV game, along with other week 18 games, may be influenced by starters sitting.

Thanks for doing that.  By my calculations New Orleans’ ,502 translates to 111 wins (and 110 losses) LA’s ,498 is 110 wins (and 111 losses) and Denver’s 484 is 107 wins (and 114 losses). The question is how the remaining 64 games play out in moving the three respective SOS calculations. The 4 wins difference between New Orleans and Denver can be erased pretty quickly.  Lots of the 64 games end up being a wash because both teams count, so the loss offsets the win.  However some games, like last night’s Arizona game count twice for one team (LA) and only once for the other team (NO).

Would you like some fries or a desert with your order?

Fries please.  I have seen nothing so far on the signing other than what has been posted here.  I go into Twitter and search the term Philadelphia Eagles and get nothing.

thans for sharing.

First Dallas, now Buffalo. We’ll see if someone picks up OBJ

Contending Teams going in on unemployed WRs, wishing they had a positional group as stout as Philadelphia’s.

What a world we live in

I don’t know what Mac Jones will or won’t be.  I just don’t like his face.  It bothers me.  That’s all the QB analysis anyone needs.

Not sure how many people were pining for Mac Jones either. Most on here didn’t like him when he was coming out that draft. That said, doesn’t help that Matt Patricia is his OC.

Patriots are actually practicing here this week. I can tell Mac you don’t like his face if you like while wearing my eagles Super Bowl shirt.

Matt....the SoS shown is fully calculated for the entire  season.  No need to do any additional math.

Interesting path to prominence as well - like 10 years in the wilderness of coaching working his way up; like the opposite of Kliff Kingsbury.

If this is directed at me then this is categorically incorrect.  I have never said Sanders is a bust and it seems to me that you are unfairly just lumping people together because they might have hurt your feels about your favorite players.  RE: Hurts, I have eaten crow a few times in here the past few months and will gladly continue to do so.

Saying a pro football player is a "winner, gamer and hard worker" is the QB analysis this place needs.  That's some in depth stuff right there.

As far as the Carson Strong deal.....

I’d add to this most didn’t say sanders was a bust. They said he always got hurt and was regressing from his rookie year where he was a better pass catcher and pass blocker then. Also he got banged up every year and would miss time. Most saw he’s a running back so they didn’t want to pay him the money after this year at that position going forward and use the money elsewhere and go with a cheaper option. Which is still on the table as likely

Ha it wasnt directed at you although I do seem to recall you saying RB 1 and Swag quite a bit.

About 90% of the blog refused to even entertain the idea that a player like Hurts could improve to be a decent starting QB.  Then there was a month long discussion about Hurts squatting pre snap Crouching Tiger, Hidden Squirts.  That was some hard hitting analysis right there lol.

All I ever said that is with his work ethic and leadership skills that he had a chance of improving especially with an improved roster around him.

There’s a group of posters who take any criticism of an Eagles player as outright hatred of said player. It’s strange

He was crouching strangely last year, it was a fair criticism. He stopped it this year. Why is that not up for discussion?

So you are saying that the remaining 68 games of Denver’s opponents are going to result in 33 wins and 35 losses?   Similarly you have New Orleans’ opponents winning 38 games and losing 30.  What is your confidence level on that?

Again with the over reaction.  I didn't say people hated Sanders.  I said that he was outright criticized and talked about as if he was some scrub that was easily replaceable by any number of backs in the draft

Hurts is still crouching.  There is a recent interview with him and Kelce where he explains that he has to get in an athletic position because Kelce fires it back so fast.

Pot meet kettle

On the eagles signing Kern and losing siposs. Might actually be an upgrade depending on how Kern looks at this stage of his career. Siposs only had 44 punts which ranked 26th in the league. Cause the offense has been so good we haven’t nearly had to punt as much as other teams. But he was 26th in terms of average yards per punt. His net average yards per punt is 29th (not all on him).

that said elliott is in last place in both of those categories so I’m guessing kern is an upgrade over that lol

Who gets more freaky this weekend, Swag or Fields?

Sanders is average and Ill die on that hill.   Sorry PSU fans

Brown/Smith/Goedert is the best trio of receivers we’ve ever had. Frankly I’m not sure it’s real close. and I go back to the Montgomery, Carmichael days as a youth. We’ve had better RB’s for sure but combined with the Oline I’d think I’d give this years team the nod over ‘04 squad.

There was a very brief moment of time when we had Mike Quick, Cris Carter, and Keith Jackson. I'd put that group up there. It's certainly in the conversation anyway. Of course Quick was always injured by then and was a shell of his former self. But I'm gonna say the first couple weeks of the '89 season they were at least healthy. I'm thinking of that huge comeback win against the Redskins. Quick made an unbelievable catch in the back of the endzone during the comeback. (I'm not sure his foot was in but I'll take it.)

Matt, this is an exercise in curiosity.  I am not preparing a study for the Government or an Academic Review Board.

I picked whom I perceived to be the favorites.
