I think you can make a case for him being the third most important piece to this defense behind Reddick and Slay with how he’s played this year. And part of that goes into him being significantly better than his replacement. I don’t think Dean can come in now and replicate what he’s done. But maybe I’m biased because we’ve had such poor LB play the past few seasons that it’s just nice to finally see some good play there.

Yeah, he’s a fine player. He’s much improved against the pass in zone coverage. I suspect he’ll be re-signed and not White.

He’s not close to as valuable as Reddick, Sweat, Hargrave, Slay or Bradberry.

Washington had almost a month to prepare for this. They SUCK.

They need to be drafting QB in the worst way.  They already moved off Heinicke as starter in the offseason and now they’re wasting their time with him starting again.  Two consecutive games against the Giants, zero wins, a bye week to get ready and puts up 12 points??  Unacceptable.

The only reason he’s supposedly in there over Wentz is he doesn’t turn the ball over — so tonight he fumbles away a TD and another fumble deep in NY territory.

The guy just isn’t good.

Wonder if they’re able to re-sign Miles, Bradberry, and Hargrave that he might be odd man out

He’s a high end backup. Nothing wrong with that and you can make more coin than most in the NFL.

3 points are given to the home team in spreads so if it were in Philly, Eagles would be favored by 1.5. My guess is they’re factoring in that it’s the third straight road game for the Eagles with only 6 days of rest coming off a physical game in Chicago today.

Actually if you were playing in Philadelphia the line would be 4.5.  1.5 minus the 3 takes the line to a neutral field, then adding the 3 when you go to the Linc means a swing of 6.

Was hurts calling his own number on all those qb running plays, maybe he's thinking about that mvp too much

I’m too lazy to dig into this any further than the tweet, but that’s a crazy stat.

Well Dallas clinched anyway with the GMen win.   So 3 Teams from the NFC BEAST are most likely going to the playoffs.  Washington still holds the 7th spot but they have to win out.  Its' wild how the Eagles have 13 Wins and the Best Record in the NFL and still need one more win to clinch everything (Or another Vikings or Boys loss). And that very next win breaks an All Time Eagles Record.  We are witnessing a very Historic Season.

I want nothing but bad (football-related) things for Heinicke after that roughing the passer celebrating BS. Dude is a total loser. Hope his team gets hosed every time he starts and all his QB hits are Sheldon Brown vs. Reggie Bush.

Dude has been balling out for sure. He’s been way better against the pass this year than any of us imagined he would be.

Washington did get hosed honestly. Call some questionable illegal formation ticky tacky bs and then ignore PI? Lol bad officiating.

Yeah I don’t feel that bad for them.

FWIW, the Eagles have a chance to be only the second team in NFL history to win 16 regular season games.

Maybe I missed something or a qualifier was missing from your statement but didn’t ‘72 dolphins and ‘07 patriots win 16 regular season games?

'72 season was 14 games.   Dolphins finished that season 17-0 overall.

"Elite” 😀  I don’t know how anyone can continue to cite that Pollyanna mush mouth. Tom Peterson.  Dude has zero credibility and is the biggest rah rah dork on Eagles Twitter.  Which I guess is why he’s constantly quoted on here.  No other explanation.

If we had an elite LB the defense wouldn’t be in the bottom quarter of the league vs. the run. He’s playing better than I expected, but so is the D overall. If the DL can keep Dean clean, I don’t expect a huge drop off. I’m not hating on TJ, just saying…

When I say "good" chili I mean well made. Good quality butcher meat. Fresh ingredients. High quality canned tomatoes. Rehydrated beans instead of from the can. Slow cooked instead of insta pot style etc. Basically all the ways you could make chili "good". And the end result is just "pretty good".

People treat it like it's some amazing Sunday meal. It's not. It's a solid easy casserole dish.

Which brings me to my point ... you don't like Chili or think it's just ok and that's fine. And I'll admit I was a little quick to minimize your opinion. I'm sorry if I came off insulting. You're entitled (to your opinion). But you should recognize that if a lot of people think Chili is some amazing Sunday meal than it probably is. Further, I know a lot of people that don't have Chili often and when they do, they're reaction is "OMG, this is amazing".

@Mattwill, I'm not the chef. Last couple years I've been working on perfecting Thanksgiving dinner. My wife is Russian so Chili is as foreign to her as Borsht is to most Americans. My son makes Chili and it's amazing - recipe he got from his mother. I've asked him what the secret is and he tells me "a lot of good stuff including love" - which is the same thing she always told me.

Morning papers reporting Hurst is banged up.  Color me shocked.

Exactly. Above average to elite in the passing game. He's passable in the run game but he's definitely not making an impact there. If we don't see the DL getting a stop on a run they're pretty much guaranteed a minimum of 4 yards.

Everyone has different tastes.   I love chili.  My wife puts up with it.  So, I generally don't make it, and most of the time just get a cup of chili as an appetizer when we are out (typically at a steak restaurant as I don't trust most others to do it properly).   My chili is great however.  Mix of pork and beef, Pork loin (the end that would most likely be considered the 'chuck' of a pig.  And beef chuck steak.  It gets cubed into roughly 1/2 inch pieces and when rendered down is as tender as the day is long.  I add beans, not so much because I like them in there (it is better without them) but it is healthier with them.   Plus makes it more hearty and filling.   Great meal on a cold day in my book.

Pretty sure the biggest hit was when he scampered and was landed on by the 350 lb DT.  Not his fault though.  That was the play call.  :nonono:

At this point, it seems everybody (coaches, players, FO) are OK with the volume of Hurts runs.

So, instead of worrying about it, I realize now that a great Canadian band said it best…he’s here for a good time, not a long time….so we should have a good time while we can (and hopefully that results in another Lombardi)
