Yep.  You then force yourself to have to beat New Orleans, and then if that does not go the way it should, then you have to play to win the last game of the season, against a Giants team still fighting for a playoff spot.

Dallas will have the tie breakers and be the #1 seed if they win out and the Eagles lose out.  You beat Dallas, always, the end.

Also, what if Hurts gets concussed or something vs the Saints? And he can't play vs the Giants either. Don't put yourself in that position. You're just asking for it to come back and bite you when you treat big games flippantly. The last two games are not gimmes. The Eagles will be big favorites, but anything can happen in this league.

Mahomes is going to set the single season passing yardage record, and his passing yardage will be 300+ more yards than Hurts total offense.  He will have 700+ yards more of total offense, and will be the #1 seed in a much tougher AFC, while having his #1 WR traded away.

He is also now ahead of Hurts in completion percentage, #1 in QBR and 3rd in passer rating.

It is a 2 horse race, but Mahomes has a slight lead.

Pretty sure his completion percentage last night was something absurd.  The team looked bad but Mahomes was still a beast in that game. So I get the odds moving.

Unsubstantiated rumors on Twitter about some type of Jalen Hurts injury. I hesitate to even share it but since we are blindly speculating about why the line is moving, I’ll play too. Could just be wishful thinking from opposing fans, or trolling.

Let me reiterate that no legitimate sports journalist has reported anything official about this.

More tinfoil hat. I’m a bit surprised we haven’t had a Sirianni press conference today. Isn’t there usually one the day after?

LVE with a sore shoulder. No sh!t. Surprise!

Dallas stacking excuses a week early. Dak is next, nursing a ....something....

Just hope they show Jerrah in his Box throwing a fit when his team gets their asswhoopin on National TV..

I don’t mind them with smith. He is usually pretty physical even as he isn’t physically built as brown. The issue is Quez offers little in terms of breaking tackles. So your blocking better be good cause he’s not breaking tackles

I wouldn’t mind them even throwing one to Pascal when he’s out there. Not sure Watkins has broken a tackle all year.

I made these same arguments the other week. To me if the eagles had to play out the stretch of games that the Dallas game was a huge statement type game for Hurts winning or losing the award. Now he’s likely not going to play a lot once they clinch and the game lost some of its luster (not to me but it was more hyped before Dallas lost yesterday).

I think mahomes and hurts are closer than what eagles fans want to believe. Mahomes is having a pretty ridiculous year. The fact he has competition is a testament to hurts playing as well as he as cause any other year mahomes is likely running away with the award. Mahomes had 3 ints against a broncos defense that’s dvoa 5 and pass defense 3rd. Meanwhile hurts had 2 against a dvoa bears defense of 29th and 31st against the pass. Both threw for 300+ and had 3 total tds. So basically the two roles in week 14 and 15 reversed

Yep.  That is why the Vikings beating the Cowboys was best case scenario.  We would have the division wrapped up, and if somehow the Vikings had gotten the one seed, who cares.  You still have all your playoff games at home, as the Vikings would choke and not be in the NFCCG anyways.

Quez is a straight line speed guy without a lot of shiftiness or shake and bake and for some reason they're using him in ways that they're supposed to use short burst shifty players.

Gonna pull a willis reed and play. Cowboys by OBJ’s contract!

Sometimes yes, sometimes no for Sirianni.

I think the line moves are mildly interesting. It feels a lot like last year after the Giants when nothing was out there about Hurts until later in the week when he was suddenly LP every day and then ruled out. The first report of why he was even out didn't come out till gameday.

Who would even contemplate doing this? I guarantee you there is zero thought to this going around the locker room and with the coaches.

I don't know if the Eagles will, but I've heard at least 3 people who cover the team all say they'd be in favor of it. Jeff McLane, Zach Berman, Bo Wulf. It's been a pretty big topic of conversation today. A lot of people think it's the smart play. To give players rest, not give the Cowboys anything to put on film. I think it reeks of arrogance. Not to mention the NFL would not be happy tanking their spotlight game. And it would probably upset the players. "Hey guys, you can't play this week, sorry."

So. what's the reported injury?

Your story left unfinished....

I’d care about the extra game you have to play as a 2 seed tbh. If it was the old rules where both 1 and 2 get a bye week I’d agree. That said i wanted Minnesota to win cause i figured they’d lose more games down the stretch. I still think the packers if they win the next two games will beat Minnesota in GB as they have something to play for

It’s unsubstantiated, but Gargano was talking about it this morning too. Nothing official though.

Collarbone is what I am seeing on Twitter.

My guess is a shoulder injury. Took a few pops to that throwing shoulder yesterday.

I would bet that with a starting role, he is a playmaking #2 and is capable of numbers like Doug Gabriel, or Mooney. Hes an excellent player who is being misused.

I don't see it personally. He's a limited player that's best served in a niche role. In a starting role he's going to draw more and better defensive coverage also.

Maybe if every pass his way is perfect and not susceptible to fumbles. But that's a big ask.

Yep.  The play he was slow getting up, he took the full weight of the DT on his right shoulder.

Again, talking about what? The Clap? Calf strain? Cerebral Annuerism?

Whats out there? Gargano is usually pretty tied in...

This is not Jalen Hurts hate.

But I think Gardener could step in and produce in this system and with these skill players and OL if his number is called.

That is what I expect, just as I expected it from Nick Foles, and this team is way better on offense....................

Yeah, I don’t disagree. I’m just thinking that practice squad spot might be better used on someone else (at least next year).

I could see a team claiming him at this point in the year. Might be risky depending if you think he can further develop with an actual off-season.
