Sure, but that's just unlikely.

2020s: Mahomes, maybe Allen
2010: Brady, Rodgers
2000s: Manning, Brady, Brees

I would trade Hurts and our next 3 drafts for Mahomes in a heartbeat, but the reality that you have to get lucky (draft #1 overall in the right draft, find Brady in RD6) to do so.

Lets just hope Hurts takes less $$$ to help the team like Brady did for years

I'm not talking about what is likely, I'm talking about the goal.   The goal should be to develop a guy like Hurts to be more like Mahomes or Allen, than to relegate him to being Lamar Jackson.  11 carries per game average is too many.  17 carries in a single game is ridiculous.

Detroit might end up with Hutchinson on one side and Anderson on the other.  Crazy to say but that team might be really scary next year.  Plus they're top 10 in cap space I believe.  Hoping they don't get one of the last playoff spots.

Depends what the Bears want to do; they're not in the QB market (apparently) and their remaining schedule is BUF, DET, and MIN.  They look almost locked into picking #2 overall.

Thinking about it, CHI is quite likely candidate to trade back to a QB-desperate team.

What are peoples thoughts on Jordan Davis right now? I figured he would start off slow and show his value later in the season. He's been playing about 20% of the snaps, and Joseph has been getting much more playing time. Is the ankle injury still nagging him or is his head still spinning? He hasn't recorded a stat I see in the last 3 weeks.

He’s been disappointing for sure. I’m not too worried about him going forward though. He’s the kind of player who will benefit greatly from his first NFL offseason. He needs to get his weight where he needs it, and having NFL experience will help him as well.

Maybe. If this qb group tests well. These aren’t prospects people will move heaven and earth for.

Good thing he's also a great passer that's only getting better.

Being a running QB that is also a good passer doesnt increase shelf life unless that good running QB limits his running and hits taken.

17 runs a game is a lot for a RB let alone a QB.

If Hurts usage continues as it has, eagles won't have to worry about giving him a second contract because he'll be dead...☹️

I've been very wrong about Hurts and have been happy to hop on his bandwagon while live Tik-tok-ing feeds of myself eating crow, so I'm hardly here to spike the football...and I'm very disappointed that he's injured.  But everyone can take that "data" and those "studies" about injury risk to running QB's and shove it.  The fact that our starting QB is now dealing with a potentially impactful injury is a direct, unquestionable result of the way our offense now utilizes the QB position.  It's not the result of a stupid game plan against the Bears.  You live by the sword, you die by the sword.

I don't think the issue is really that he got injured.  The real issue is that for an athletic QB injuries take a bigger toll on their long-term ability to function at a high level.  The margin that Hurts provides over other QBs is his athleticism.  As that erodes, he is going to be a below average starter.

If the QB is a prime Russell Wilson and avoids contact, especially big hits, then it's possible to achieve some longevity.

Unfortunately, it appeared Hurts went to the RG III school of QB punishment against the Bears.

He can reduce his running as his career goes on.  Use it while you have it.  That was a big problem for McNabb.  He shunned his running ability early in his career because he was too concerned about how he was viewed and he neglected that part of his talent and ultimately I believe it cost him from reaching his ultimate potential.

Wilson had no Oline with Hawks so he had to learn quickly or retire early

Yup he took way too many big hits.

It's nice and all that he's a sturdy power lifter And all that but big sturdy guys in the NFL get hurt all the time from too many hits.

If Siri wants hurts to be his QB of the future he needs to change hurts usage or there won't be a hurts in the future.

Cam Newton was a physical specimen at the Combine -- 6'5 and 248 lbs.  When you're taking hits from men who are paid big money to deliver hits there is a cumulative effect of punishment -- and it doesn't all go away at the start of the next season.

I agree Hurts running will be reduced when he's on IR or out of the league.

People have been saying all year this and last and forever that running ones QB 10+ times a game isn't sustainable.

If hurts gets hurt he won't have a career to go on.

McNabb ran quite a bit early in his career, he stopped running as much because he got fat.

That would be absolutely foolish.  The team can beat Dallas, there is no need to risk the ultimate goal of winning a title because of a cheap shot, or just additional punishment.

You know the Cowboys will be overly physical with him if he tries to play.

He had toned that down quite a bit the last couple years.   Of all the show I have listened to over the 20+ years I have done Philly sports shows, by far my favorite.

It's just your usual fluff gamesmanship. Right after he goes on how they are making a game plan for Minshew.

He has an injury that if he needed to play on then he could play on (and did play on the rest of that game).  He didn't suffer a career ending injury or a season ending injury.

I see a QB like Joe Burrow who takes as many big shots as he does in the pocket having his body break down prior to Jalen Hurts.  Jalen will do what his necessary to win to win a Super Bowl this year.  As his career goes on and he continues to to advance as a passer while he gets older and that recovery time starts to slow down then he will transition his play style as well.
