How about that Jaguars offense being so dynamic with JaMycal Hasty having 1 carry for 13 yards and 1 catch for 2 yards :roll::roll::roll:

13 YPC is pretty explosive

This is also why I hope they sign either Bradbury or another FA CB.  Teams have to realize positions they know how to draft.  Who is the last CB the Eagles drafted who really excelled?  The past 10 years have given us the following players in the draft.  Yes, I know there was a Chip Kelly era but even so, this is NOT a good track record at CB.

Jalen Mills was a decent #2 but even as a #2 he got beat.  He was a gamer and I loved him but he was far from solid at CB.  Prefer him much more at safety.

Rasul Douglas was another who was OK but would you call him a good draft pick?  He's been better as a non-Eagle.

Avonte Maddox?  Good slot CB, potentially a better safety.

Zech McPhearson?  OK ST player who has barely sniffed the field as a CB.

Sidney Jones?  NOPE

Blake Countess.  Another player who was better at safety.

Randall Evans. WHO?'

JaCorey Shepherd, biggest steal of the draft for a week.

Eric Rowe.  Remember him more for getting torched in SB52.  Still hanging around as a CB/S.

A lot of tweeners who are better suited at safety mixed in with others who are EHHH as CB2.

Sign/trade for a CB.

The ones that really matter for me are Eric Rowe, Sidney Jones and Rasul Douglas.  3rd day picks are lottery tickets, you hope to get good contributions like from Maddox, but the Day 1 and 2 picks are where this team has really hurt themselves.

This gives Foles at least one start for every season of his career. Has never started more than 10 games in a season. Can't think of many stranger careers than his.

When he looks back at his career, even though he was never "the guy" I think he will be happy with it.

Agree for the most part but I put a lot more value on 4th round picks.  It's why I hated giving up a 4th for Quinn.  I think 4th round picks should be core ST players and have the ability to develop in to a quality starter.  McPhearson still might start at some point but here we are going in to his 3rd year in 2023 with no idea how he is on defense.

None of those players you mentioned developed as players for the Eagles.  Bad draft picks.

frank should have started him before that rookie they threw in.

I wasn't disagreeing with their inability to draft.  Across the board, they have been bad drafting defense in general for a long time.

Random thought… I’m guessing it’s probably a No but what are the chances Hurts is active and still brought in to run the ball…?

The Eagles (Howie and other brass) approach to roster construction is to build the "nucleus" positions through the draft -- QB, WR, OL, DL.  They don't seem to see some other positions as crucial -- LB, S.  They spent a mid-second round pick on Sanders to be a lead RB with the 53rd pick.  Coincidentally, they also drafted LeSean McCoy with the 53rd overall pick.  I assume they see that range to be the sweet spot for RB talent.

It could be argued the premium CB talent in the draft has been just out of their reach the past few seasons but, to your point, they have had better success acquiring CB talent through free agency.  Right now, CB salaries haven't risen as quickly as WR salaries.  A premium CB costs $16-20M on the free agent market whereas a WR1 costs $25-30M.

Overrated?  I think that's a bit of a stretch.   Not a top 10 all-time guy, certainly.  But a Hall of Famer.   15th all-time leading rusher right now... and was like 3rd or 4th all-time when he retired behind Peyton and Brown.   It could be argued he was a volume runner with his number of years played.  But, I think there is something to be said for longevity as it pertains to the HoF as well.    Then again, I am against Frank Gore getting in and he's currently 3rd all-time.  Not sure what I would have against Gore though.  🤔

In no way, shape, or form was Franco Harris overrated. He was a star for a decade, one of the best in the league at his position. It's not his fault he played for a good team.

The emails and tweets to Jim Rome about Foles right now are hilarious.

"Nick Foles is a Colt in every measure, and will have a lengthy Colts career"

"Big news out of Indy, we thought it was a long shot, but now Nick Foles is the starting QB"

"Nick Foles starting, love to see it" signed Lady clones

"Hey Rome, this QB change has been a long time coming"

"The legend of Foles is inching up"

Josh Johnson's career is pretty impressive/odd.  13 years in the league, has played for 14 teams and (would be 20 if you include off-season/practice rosters.  Is 1-8 in his nine career starts.

Probably not, but nothing else being posted so I threw it in.
