49ers/Bears was the first game of the season in a complete monsoon too. I put no stock in that game.

  • Perfect weekend for me. I got to make my long time soul mate my wife officially. And I got a eagles win today. Life is good.

Still think this is going to be the biggest obstacle come playoff time.

Listening to the talk shows here in Nor Cal they think they are everyone’s biggest obstacle as well.  The level of overconfidence is staggering.

Nice.  What's defensive rushing success / defensive success?  Stopping the other team from scoring?

I assume LVE is out?

He's definitely out for Saturday..I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't play again this season

Niners/Eagles would be a helluva NFC title game.

For whatever reason I think the Vikings could upset them in Minnesota

Vikings might be the most bi-polar team in the league

They have the option of leaving Kern on the Practice Squad.  That would mean he would miss one regular season game, but once the Playoffs start he would be eligible for elevation throughout all the Playoffs rounds.  I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Quinn never gets reactivated, and CGJ can replace RB #4 on the roster.

So what are you doing going no punter in the final game?

What an idiot .

Eagles legend.

I have absolute confidence in the Eagles beating the 49ers.

They don't need to worry about that for 2 weeks.  One step at a time.   No need to elevate Kern until they have to.

It is lame.

We made it all the way to zero at one point

How is it possible that these people are so stupid?

1) they have a punter … Jake Elliott, who is plenty good enough for a meaninglessWeek 18 game against the Giants.  2) Sirianni is perfectly capable of going for it on each and every 4th down.

Remember when people credited Douglas for Howie's success?

Now Howie has made his share of mistakes, and Lurie can grate sometimes with his PC BS, but the Eagles have been one of the best run organizations for a long time.

Lurie turned it around in the 1990s, then realized Rhodes wasn't the answer, got Big Red. Chip was his one misstep.

Howie worked his way up, and all those "smarter" football guys he outlasted, exactly where are they these days.

Now Howie screwed up after the SB, and he admitted it, but didn't take him long to climb out of his own hole he dug.

Oh yeah, we not only have the best record in the NFL, but NO 1st this year and 2nd next year.

Meanwhile, you see a franchise like the Jets continue to flounder, the Giants lose for years before they barely get above .500, let's not even talk about the "Commanders" . . .

Jets have a solid roster they just whiffed horribly on the qb

That is an absolutely ridiculous suggestion, Matt.    Seriously?   You want to put Elliott at extra risk, just before going into the playoffs... when it might be extra important to have a placekicker you can rely on?

That damn game eliminated me from one of my survivor pools. First weeks can be brutal.

He bet on table games on an app. I’m surprised that’s not allowed.

Is it worth having Jake Elliott attempt punts in a meaningless week 18 game?  He would probably be fine but I wouldn't want him doing that except in emergency situations.  Don't need him pulling a hamstring or something doing those punts or taking a shot while punting or tacking on a punt return that broke.

Keep Siposs on IR and just roll with Kern.

Wait, really? That’s dumb on the NFL then. He’s appealing at least.

I’m not sure you’re understanding the argument. No one is saying to discard Kern. He would be punting in the playoffs. But they could save a roster spot by not putting him on the 53 man roster for the final game of the season IF THE GAME IS MEANINGLESS.

Furthermore I’m not sure that Elliott punting would expose him to unnecessary risk. And as stated before, they could EASILY sign another punter to the practice squad to be activated for that game.

It’s all about massaging the final couple spots on the active roster. You don’t want to cut someone that you’ve been carrying all year with the idea of him competing for a spot next summer, only to see him get claimed by some other team.

That’s what I read. I feel like there has to be more to this though.

His lawyer said table games and non NFL sports betting. That second one is probably what's going to sink him.

If that is a concern sign another punter to the PS for that one game.  It is more than likely a meaningless game.  That is the option 2) I listed Hanover downside.

Unfortunately,  Cowboys DE Sam Williams got into a car crash yesterday. Has a concussion and will miss tomorrow's game.

Cowboys front 7 depth is now thin. Will be a good week to go tempo.

I'm worried about the playoffs.
