One thing that gives me confidence for tomorrow is knowing how everyone on that team and Minshew will be playing for Hurts.  It will be their driving force.

Try some different bait.  Their driving force will be sealing up the 1 seed.

They have to pick up Hurt's slack for lack of leadership with him being on the sidelines and all.

I'm not worried about next year.  Opeta is a good backup OG to have for the playoffs.   They've already shown that they have no interest in actually using Sermon.   And Book isn't a developmental QB.  If he is claimed by a team.. oh well.

I happen to agree with all those points.  However, the equivalent to Book on the 49ers roster several weeks ago was Mr. Irrelevant.  The Eagles won’ risk going into the Playoffs with only 2 QBs.  Sermon is needed as the cut to accommodate Gardner-Johnson.  So those three players are essentially spoken for.  With that being the case, who do you cut to make room for the punter?

Nope.  Purdy was in the backup QB role several weeks ago.  He was in the Book position at the very beginning of the season, and they had to go through the full 17 weeks.

So, my guy to cut remains Book.

Hurts?   Why would they play for Hurts?

Yep.  They are playing for the name on the front of the jersey, not the one on the back.

Minshew if anyone is playing for Leach.

This would be a defining win for Uncle Rico - he gets a W here, he might get a real shot elsewhere or at least cement the lucrative back-up for life role… not bad for a kid with limited tools. The rest of the roster is filled with pro bowlers, so I’m expecting the backup bounce with the Day 1 goal of the division/1 seed on the line.

Feel like every commercial break intro and outro tomorrow during the game will be different parts of the Philly Special Christmas album.

My only concern, and its very minor, is that it was easy to neutralize parsons with Hurts at QB due to the threat of a QB run in the read option.

Im sure theyll run Minshew 1 or 2 times, but I dont think the threat is nearly enough to make Parsons concerned about that.

Im not too concerned because I am sure theyll have a variety of other ways to put Parsons in conflict.

I suspect we can run the ball right at him, and engulf him with our big OL run blocking. Id expect to see a healthy dose of our TE screens return to the playbook. If Parsons wants to fly upfield to pressure our pocket QB, he will be leaving Goedert free on screens. And then there are still the RPOs we can run.

Such a shame we won't be seeing them live again until 2024 since they just finished their world tour and the bassist is pregnant.

So you are comfortable going into the Playoffs with only Hurts and Minshew?  I will be surprised if Howie and Siri share that level of comfort. Time will tell.

Gardner is a good enough athlete to take the easy yardage in the open field if the read defender crashes hard.  Missing Hurts is an obvious problem in the RZ as he routinely ran through contact/made defenders miss/did MVP stuff… the OL/Miles will need to earn their laurels with a conventional attack and Minshew will need to make good decisions (he generally does given his TD:INT ratio).

My feeling is that the Cowboys D is spent, they’ve lost multiple players and have been consistently soft against the run. While we took steps to tighten up our run defense with LJ and Suh, they lost Hankins and LVE.

Jackson going to IR was predictable. Using that spot for Elliss is kind of surprising though. They still need to clear spots for CGJ, Quinn, and Kern.

Don’t need to clear Kern a spot until the last game and since that may be meaningless, they might just go without a punter and then it resets.  Ellis earned the spot. Frankly, I am not convinced Bradley plays MIKE as well as he does. Quinn?  That spot is either his or Robinson’s. Latter can go PS if they feel a need to elevate Quinn.  CJGJ?  We don’t know when or if he will be healthy because a lacerated kidney can vary.  Who might go waivers (or not to jinx it but can’t discount it, IR) is TBD.

I guess that if it’s true that they can reset the PS activations for the playoffs, they could simply not promote Kern for the Giants game and instead use Elliott to punt. Or sign another punter to the PS that week and have him punt. Obviously this would only be an option if everything is clinched before then.

Damn, I respond to your post and then scroll down and see this. 🎯

dont kid yourself, they will come out ballin, if they just run the peepee out of the ball it would really help minshew

I’m taking your word for this about the rules.

Also, can you imagine the uproar that is going to erupt when the Eagles sign some random punter to the practice squad and then elevate him for the finale? Nearly everyone will assume it’s an indictment on Kern (who incidentally was pretty bad against the Bears) or wonder what the hell Howie is doing.

See the language on page 2 below. Specifically, "except during the postseason” and "any number of postseason games”

Harden has tied 6ers record with 21 assists in a game.

1:30 to go. he may break it.

the temp here in crenshaw is kinda good now, just me and my homies

I feel pretty damn good about this one. When I’m this relaxed, which is rare, it’s usually an easy win. Eagles 34 Dallas 17. Minshew plays inspired football, and the team rallies behind him.

Holy crap harden has 21 assists. He’s a rebound away from a triple double

he got it. 20-11-21

There’s also AJ/Smitty vs Diggs/Player X… that’s a good matchup.
