As far as I know, other Catholics eat meat today.

Not really sure, been like that for generations.

Italians and Italian-Americans follow through with this tradition, where the Feast of the Seven Fishes involves feasting on seven seafood dishes on Christmas Eve. It's not always seven dishes, but in any case this has been around since time immemorial. I think they do the same on other religious dates including Easter but not too sure.

Aye, and I suspect many Italians don't adhere to this either.

Apparently the no meat thing is a Catholic pennance thing... representing good Friday the day Christ gave up his flesh, so good Friday ash Wednesday and lent they don't eat meat...

I had no idea, having said that my wife makes a good artichoke lasagna.

Something about that Jesus dude blessing some fish and bread that then multiplied to feed the multitudes.

That's lent. But both traditions could have the same origin story.

There was a baby that had super powers, and he lived in the Middle East, but the part we like.

The end

I was raised catholic and I think the no eating meat on Christmas eve is just an Italian tradition rather than something the entire church observers.

Are we going with a run heavy offence do we think? Should I start Boston Scott in fantasy?

Typically it's more of an older generations thing from what I've seen. Younger generations (especially those that marry non-Italians) tend to drop the tradition.

Correct.

Only if you are very, very desperate at the RB position this weekend.  I can't imagine that working out for you.

I think Dallas will probably play their defenders in and try and force Minshew who doesn't have a strong arm to throw deep and dare the Eagles to beat them deep.

Yes, Fish on Fridays during Lent or at least no meat… anecdotally I was told by my father that pizza delivery took off due to this (as cheese pizza is an easy meatless option).

His arm is as strong as Hurts.  He threw with a slightly higher velocity at the combine.

Minshew vs the Jets (2021) as a refresher.

Eye test in games shows differently IMO. We'll see today.

The Eagles are playing their 3rd consecutive road game, on a short week, with a backup QB against a 10 win team. We *should* lose. But I believe in this team. Go Birds.

I think Goeddert will get targeted a lot on seam routes with success. Expecting him to get close to 100 yards today.

My family is Italian and they’ve usually eaten fish on Christmas Eve but typically one type, not "seven” so even in Italy it’s not a "mandatory 7 fishes”.  It’s something that varies from region to region.
