Eye test in games shows differently IMO. We'll see today.

He actually threw a pretty long ball at Washington State and excelled at the over the shoulder throw.  One thing that was a criticism of his play there was his tendency in his check downs to favor the short option over the intermediate option.  Minshew bounced around a lot in college.

In Italy they dont do the 7 fishes, thats an American thing.

Its fasting before a feast day, which modern catholics usually translate to no meat and hence fish.

My family has always done a fish/shrimp on Christmas Eve and no meat.  Its an old school thing for sure

Such a shame we won't be seeing them live again until 2024 since they just finished their world tour and the bassist is pregnant.

I wouldn't mind the chance to impregnate Laura Lee...

So things may work out in my favour and I might be able to watch the eagles game at home. It’s not a done deal yet but things are looking up. It’s trending in the right direction and I may have consumed some alcohol prior to it.

And that no meat before Christmas must be a very specific region thing as that isn’t a thing in Ireland which is traditionally a Catholic country(still is a majority catholic country) and it’s be weird if you didn’t eat all the meats on Christmas Eve. The fish on Fridays is something that was done, but now it’d be only(if a person does it) on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday which is the start and end of Easter. Another weird Irish Catholic thing was that pubs here used to not open on Good Friday, but they do now. Pubs also used to be closed on St Patrick’s day here in Ireland which makes zero sense to me.

In some countries it is illegal to sell alcohol on Good Friday or consume it in public.

I thought his arm looked really bad in that meaningless game against Dallas last year.

It will look better in a dome. Get ready for a lot of 9 routes that turn into back shoulder fades.

Some other non Eagles things to root for today:

Saints loss(obviously). Game is going to be frigid. Could benefit Browns who are a running team anyway.

Giants win. Don't want week 18 to mean anything for them in case it comes to the Eagles needing to win that game. And obviously Vikings loss eliminates them from #1 seed.

Panthers win

Falcons win

Raiders win

It used to be no alcohol sold here in Ireland on Good Friday but you could drink it alright, but not in public. People do drink in public but it’s not allowed, and our police force will move you on.

I'm worried about the playoffs.

B-)

Prioritize your worry, Brother.

Beat the stuffins outa Dallas, show up Dak for the Choker he is and Secure #1 Seed.

That's enough worry for Christmas Eve.

The rest can wait....

I was raised catholic and I think the no eating meat on Christmas eve is just an Italian tradition rather than something the entire church observers.

Correct, but the Italian feast of 7 fishes is a lot of fun.  We do it every year.

Glazer: Hurts has a 1.5 grade sprain of the shoulder. 1-2 week injury. If Eagles lose this week, Hurts is gonna push hard to play next week. If Eagles win, Hurts will sit vs Saints and play vs Giants because Eagles don't want him to not play football for a month before the playoffs.

My family is Italian and they’ve usually eaten fish on Christmas Eve but typically one type, not "seven” so even in Italy it’s not a "mandatory 7 fishes”.  It’s something that varies from region to region.

This is the first time I'm hearing about the 7 fishes thing.

That really isn’t news, though.

Scumbag Payton was going to join forces with Scumbag Tom Brady, who was going to ditch Tampa Bay to play in Miami.  Fangio was slated to come along for the ride.  Their scheme led to Payton resigning from his job with the Saints, Brady "retiring” from football, and Ross being suspended by the NFL for trying to put it all together.  Ridiculous that Ross was suspended, but Payton and Brady were not.  They picked up the phone in spite of knowing league rules, after all.

It’s why the Bucs are so dysfunctional this season; Arians had to step down for Brady to "unretire”, blow off most of training camp, and rejoin the team right before their last preseason game.  Bucs players wouldn’t ever say anything, but it’s hard to imagine there aren’t guys who do not want him in that locker room.

Yes, Fish on Fridays during Lent or at least no meat… anecdotally I was told by my father that pizza delivery took off due to this (as cheese pizza is an easy meatless option).

Mushroom pizza with steak fries was a staple of my diet during lent when I was in high school.

There aren't a lot of teams needing a new QB and a new coach. The best fit are the Panthers and Colts, but the Saints won't trade Payton to Carolina and would Brady every play for Irsay given Deflategate?

Houston-Tennesse with a 1 hour delay due to power outage.

If not the Chargers he probably goes back to the Saints. I still think Fangio could become the Eagles DC next year, but if not, maybe Dennis Allen would be the Eagles DC. Or Brandon Staley if he's fired.

Still retaining hope that Vic joins here if/once Gannon lands a HC job in the offseason. He has familiarity with the Eagles in a consulting role this year and it is a rather attractive project with Howie and Nick in place.

I like fish a lot but seven types of fish in one sitting ? I doubt I’d be able to eat that much.

And is it seven because there are seven sacraments in the Catholic Church ? There’s baptism, confirmation, marriage, death, confession, communion, and one more I can’t think of.
