Yes to playcalling. I don't think they called a run on that last drive despite having just under 2 min

The team isn’t even playing that well and we have a lead. Want to complain, but it seems bratty.

They need to run the ball more and eat clock.  Use Boston Scott more maybe on some screens.

Yeah, there are basically 4 types of backups:

1) low end starters/high end backups (ie Foles)

2) good backups that can bridge a starter being out for a handful of games and win half of them (Minshaw)

3) young guys with starter talent but you don’t know what they can do until they get called to action (Hurts prior to becoming a starter)

4) slop (basically half of the leagues #2 QBs and almost all of the #3’a)

I’d be totally fine picking a QB in the top 3 rounds this year if the right guy is available. Good QBs on cheap deals are just so valuable. That #31 pick would be interesting if someone like Anthony Richardson is available.

Maddox can never and will never stay healthy 

Seems like Dallas has been lucky so far, the missed sack, the 4th down penalty and the blown coverage. CGJ would be huge for us this game because he can play the slot. Scott is overmatched, but we will see what adjustments they make.

Minshew is a touch passer.  That's who he is.  He threw for 4700 yards in college (1 season) with touch passes.

Not every QB is a cannon passer.  Tom Brady is the prime example. 

Joe Montana, Tom Brady - all "touch" passers.

 

You guys need to forget the Brett Favre's of the world and begin to understand that the QB position has more to do with finesse than it has to do with having an cannon arm.

Agree. There are some proper scary backup QBs out there.  Minshew has to be a lot better, but the team needs to run the ball a lot better to take out of the game and wear the D down
