Driscoll can be solid at RT.  Problem is he will last about 3 quarters before he gets injured.

I agree 100% with putting in Dillard at LT and Mailata at RT but only if Driscoll gets hurt.

Driscoll needs to stay healthy. If he does then he’s adequate. The problem is he's like maddox.  Always gets banged up. if he’s healthy i don’t want to move mailata over to RT. Mailata in the past has shown he’s not nearly as great at RT. And dillard isn’t better than mailata at LT. So essentially you are weakening yourself at Rt by lane being out but also LT by moving mailata to Rt

  • Perfect weekend for me. I got to make my long time soul mate my wife officially. And I got a eagles win today. Life is good.

Even if maddox gets hurt then you are likely fine if you can use CGJ as the slot and have Blankenship at the safety spot. Blankenship isn’t spectacular but he’s not Scott out there.

the issue is we spent decent money on maddox and the dude is always hurt. Last year in a contract year was the only year he’s stayed relatively healthy. I was against extending him for the money he got cause he is injury prone.

Yup, Maddox is good when he's on the field but dude is always hurt

I mean the dude hurt his toe sacking the QB🤷‍♂️

I think all the injuries in the secondary caught up to them today.

Can't expect to win in downs often when Josiah Scott and Kvon Wallace are on the field.

Hopefully CGJ and maddox can get back and stay healthy for the playoffs, they're a much better defense when those two are in the lineup, without them it gets sketchy.

Even then if the eagles don't have 4 idiotic TOs today they win with those liabilities in the secondary.

It’s fair to cast a critical glance at Davis.

Conditioning questions, extremely low snap counts, zero impact, and lots of injuries.

I realize it’s blasphemy to criticize a rookie first round pick still in year 1, but it’s been a forgettable rookie campaign.

In the playoffs, we'll likely get Maddox and CJGJ back. That's massive.

At the same time, Gannon is just bad against real QBs. I get that our LBs are bad, but he's also actively choosing to have them on the field over Dean or McPhearson.

The refusal to play man coverage at a high rate is killing this team. I understand that most teams don't play man 70% of the time. A lot of teams are in the 40% range. However, most teams play man coverage on 3rd down. We have Bradberry and Slay, 2 top 15 CBs this year, and don't even challenge WRs. It's insane. Lamb and Gallup routinely got matched against LBs/S, because Gannon played predictable zone coverages. I'm not an Edwards/Epps guy, but asking them to cover WRs in space is not fair...especially when that WR is CeeDee Lamb.

Stop playing sides, and just man the f. up.

I don't remember Mailata playing RT at all.

I would only put Mailata at RT and Dillard at LT if both Lane and Driscoll can't play.

I fully trust Driscoll at RT but don't expect him to stay healthy.

This was exactly what we were talking about the other day - you can’t have your C2 safety milling around the box presnap because it might turn into a foot race to the deep half against a much faster wideout on a go route… why they would get this cute on a 3rd and a mile is mind bottling.

To be fair, he wasn’t close to the LOS or in the box. He took a terrible angle. That happens when you’re not really a safety.

Games like that might be what makes Howie choose to keep Bradberry over Edwards. Edwards has been good and a nice story, but you can find LBs on the cheap who give you close to what he does.

Anyway, someone start a new blog thread so we can get rid of this lag

Isn't Gardner-Johnson supposed to come back this week?

The combination of Scott playing deep safety, and not having him lineup deep at the start, is the problem. Gannon knew Scott wasn't a safety and didn't call a sticks defense anyway.

Hopefully at least one of them loses.

Actually I’m not even sure it matters, I’d have to play with the playoff simulator machine. They are both a game ahead currently and play tomorrow. It’s possible they both lose tomorrow and next week and Titans win, but Titans still are out on tiebreakers and would have to win Week 18 which would make them division winners anyway.

It didn’t result in any sacks and it was against the NFLs best edge rusher, but Mailata consistently failed to keep Parsons out of the backfield.

As the edge speed struggles continue, I still wonder if Mailata is more of a RT.  I’d be intrigued by Dillard LT Mailata RT.

Breaking up the Mailata/Dickerson combo impacts the way they have weaponized the running game on the left.  Running behind either side of Dillard/Dickerson and Mailata/Seumalo is going to be a major downgrade in blowing open holes, as each pairing has a below average  run blocker.

Reminder: If the Giants beat the Colts next week, they are guaranteed to make the playoffs. They may lay down in week 18 no matter what.

I trust Driscoll to be good enough at RT to beat the Saints.  Then he’ll either get hurt or taken advantage of against the Cowboys in the divisional playoffs.

No it’s only this one and I think it’s probably the thread length causing it

To be fair haven't seen Dillard on the field since he's bulked up to know if he's a below average run blocker or not.🤷‍♂️

I’ve only experienced it here. No other thread or forum.

Will be interesting to see if Hurts plays vs the Saints if Lane is out.  If Lane is out until the playoffs anyway then I think you gotta go for the win against the Saints to secure the #1 seed/division especially since the Giants will be playing for their playoff lives in the last week and are starting to play well again.

I think Hurts wants to play and will be pushing to play.

I

Jordan Mailata won his matchups with Micah Parsons today. Parsons routinely overshot Minshew. If Minshew could just sit in the pocket and not be frenetic, Parsons doesn't sniff him.

Can’t stress enough how impressive the play designs were today offensively. We had wide open players all over the place. We’ll remember the crazy catches Smith made, but this offense made things very easy for Minshew. His accuracy was scattershot, and we still could have scored 40 today.

Parsons won his fair share, and Minshew was able to maneuver the pocket a bit to save Mailata. All in all, I thought Mailata held up well.

Gardner Johnson got a chance to be activated this week?

They've been doing it all year. It's been very impressive.

I think it was more impressive today considering Minshew doesn’t get the type of attention Hurts does. Then again, it seems like the Cowboys had very little respect for Minshew’s arm too. The Cowboys had a lot of players around the LOS today

They also rushed towards the end of the game to encourage him to run to his left. He was terrible.

No it's the length of this thread that causes the lag.  That's why the mods start a new one every so often.
