Accomplished in just 15 games.  Should really have Hurts in this picture instead of Watkins though.

Strange how posts are taking longer to submit in this thread for me

The real takeaway from today was injuries.  Goal 1 for the day was staying healthy.  Winning the game was an unnecessary bonus.

The team is now dinged up and let it happen to them in a losing effort.

The second takeaway is the middle of the defensive secondary.  It is THE definitive blueprint on how to pour points and yards on this defense.  They need CJGJ and Maddox.

I slightly disagree because I think you can’t have both of them out. You can afford to have maddox or CGJ out. The reason why I say that is, I’m guessing if CGJ was healthy and Maddox got hurt then they would move CGJ to the slot like the Saints did and have Blankenship as the other safety. Blankenship isn’t a world beater at S but I think he’s adequate. Unlike Scott, who you’re asking to play safety but is a slot corner and he’s not even good at that.

This has been a problem for everyone today. Apparently it’s due to the length of the thread.

Any updates on Lane Johnson and Jordan Davis?

People were saying Davis has a concussion but don't know how accurate that is

Probably is accurate he got a helmet right under the chin by sweat at full throttle

Tbh gardner isn’t as good as hurts. It’s obvious he’s not. He’s good enough to win you a game or two if hurts is out. He’s likely with this roster good enough to get 8 to 10 wins (possibly more). I don’t doubt that. He doesn’t have a great arm you’d like and he’s sometimes erratic like his near INT. However i do think he’s better than anything the jets are using right now. The titans would love to have him. Ditto with the colts. i also think he could start for teams like lions, niners, Carolina (less so cause their line isn’t very good so might get knocked out) and have success with the weapons they have.

that said he’s also hasn’t played in 15 weeks and came in and played competently. I’m guessing if he is forced to play against the saints next week he likely looks better in his second game under center and not the first time in 15 weeks. It’s the same reason why i dislike hurts not playing for 5 consecutive weeks. Gonna have some rust and it likely takes a couple drives to really get into a rhythm.

It’s a skewed perspective because only 20ish of the best QB’s in the world deserve to be starters, the other 10 or so teams are trial-by-fire developing QBs that could potentially be a top 20 guy.

Mac Jones for instance, he’s not better than Minshew today. But if you asked any team without a QB, they’ll most likely roll the dice on the second year first round pick over Minshew

EDIT: referring to the tweet you were quoting

Only update for Lane that I have seen is that he was walking around the locker room "on his own power" but also had his groin area wrapped up heavily.  If he has to have a sports hernia surgery in the next two days he could possibly be back by the divisional round if not then after.

Lane Johnson just walked out of the locker room. He’s moving around on his own power. He’s wearing a wrap around his waist/groin area.

saw it on Twitter

I'm surprised the other guy wasn't concussed after hitting Davis. It was Sweat right?

I'd like to see more Zach Pascal, honestly.  He's tough, and you can trust him to be tough.

I suspect the reason Quez is used as much as he is is that he forces the opposing D to devote resources to deep routes, thereby opening up the middle of the field.  Paschal may not have enough deep speed to fill that role.

Pretty strange the lack of news about him.  Probably not good

And on 3rd and 9 when he ran for 2 yards instead of not passing to DeVonta Smith who had broken completely wide open in the back of the endzone.

Yeah that's right. Only getting 3 on that drive was very costly even though the game just started. It was hard to be too mad because there was an entire game left and we got three on the opening drive, but I just had that stick in my craw and it proved to be very costly.

Yeah was sweat. When i saw it i thought sweat got the worst of it but he was fine.

Raiders have changed everything but their owner and Carr. Same story every year. Hard to watch.

I’ve had the issue for several days. My phone, or PC, this thread has taken a good 30 seconds to submit my posts.

Would he be walking around if it was something that would make him not able to play next week?

If Lane has a sports hernia, he's not playing until the playoffs. It then becomes a pain tolerance issue. That's a rough injury.

With Maddox, we don't know if it's turf toe, dislocated toe, broken toe, etc. Turf toe hurts like hell, but he'll be fine for the playoffs.

Sports hernia.

Not sure there’s 20 QBs out there at the moment with injuries and guys just not good this year. I’d argue heinicke, Daniel jones, Mac Jones, whatever Qb the jets use, willis, mccoy/mcsorely,  darnold, Dalton, Ridder, Wilson (Russ), Matt Ryan and baker don’t really deserve to be that gets you to 19 left. There’s some others this year who played poorly enough that don’t deserve it either

4-6 week recovery if handled correctly.  Divisional round would be 4 weeks from today so we likely wouldn't have him back by then.  But there is a chance we could have him back for the NFC Title game or even the Super Bowl if we can make it that far without him.
