Hope no one else took Akers with RB2 hopes like I did. Yikes.

I’d bet anything next week Akers has like 15-17 carries. Kind of feel like mcvay was trying to be cute with Henderson and Akers with the bills matchup. Henderson is  injured prone and really at the end of last year (when he was healthy) Michel just gave the rams more of what they wanted. I tend to think that happens again with Akers at some point. I loved Henderson in his draft class. But Akers has more talent than him and i think he eventually takes the bulk of the carries. Still could be a bust where you picked him but i think he has more upside and talent then Henderson.

Sean McGay will retire after this season

The fraud is over.

That’s right, when Cam was running early in his career, the commentators would say he’s built to take the punishment, he runs over guys, lol.
It’s the same reason RB’s have short careers, the accumulation of hits takes its toll, Allen is no different.
That last TD pass, him, Mahomes, Rodgers, and maybe Herbert can make that throw on the run.

Tyree Jackson too.

you like men?

Knowing that Hurts is Josh Allen 2.0 makes me even more excited after last night.

The Rams have to understand that The Super Bowl Hangover can happen for the Winner too not just the loser.  It's only week one but Sucks to lose the banner opener.   Even though it was a tight game, I was happy when the Birds won the Opener back in 2018 against the Falcons after the Super Bowl.  Even though they didn't return to the Super Bowl, they still Won a Playoff Game and made it to the divisional round after winning the Super Bowl LII.   Defending a title is hard.   Ironically Brady beating us in XXXIX was the last team to do it.  Bills looked like they picked up where they left off.

Love the overreactions after week 1. Remember when Green Bay was crushed 38-3 last year and Rodgers was considered washed?

Rams looked bad, but I wouldn't count them out at all. Bills looked really good, and looks like Allen's weapons are even better than last year.

Super Bowl hangover.  I think the Bengals are going to struggle to even make the playoffs this year.  SB Loser curse.

The Bills are still pissed off that it wasn't them in the Super Bowl.   They didn't like the way their last game ended.  They are hungry.

I tend to agree that the Super Bowl losers have a tougher time. The Bengals main players are all young enough though they may be able to overcome it. I know we joke about swag, but Burrow just seems like a winner to me. Should be a fun season.

The Rams were smelling themselves too much going into last night I think, got caught up in it all. The Bills came out hungry and just controlled the game.

I agree.  Hubris for the winner.   Let down for the loser.   Historically, I think the Pats are the only team in the last twenty years to bounce back after a Super Bowl loss to even approach what they did the previous year.

Yeah Sean really turned that organization around. 4 Playoff Berths in 5 years, 3 Playoff wins and AFC Title appearance.  They've won the Division back to back too.   But they have to get over Andy, Pat and KC before they can get to the Bowl.   But looking like they'll probably win the Division again.

They should cancel the season and give the Bills the SB now. Because if I’ve learned anything after decades of watching NFL football it’s that what happens in the 2nd half of the first game always is definitive proof of what will happen 4 months later

I think their eyes are locked on HFA and getting revenge on KC on their own turf.

This is silly.   A lot of people had the Bills as their SB pick from the AFC.  And the Bills went out and showed that that confidence wasn't misplaced.  Is it confirmation bias?  Probably.  But, they absolutely looked every bit the part.  And yes, while some teams slip and all kinds of things can still happen between now and the end of the season, we also know that sometimes teams do go wire to wire and just dominate the league for an entire season... starting with the very first game.   It is rare.  But those teams have certain components.  Dominating defense is a good starting point... having the stud QB is another.

Josh Allen will get hurt unless the play calling changes

The Bills have been a top playoff team for years. How they play the first game shouldn't really change that calculus either way. Look at Andy's teams. A lot of them started slow. Some had great first games. People overreact to game 1.

You say that like it has been the better part of a decade.  It's been 2020 where they shocked folks and won 13 games... and last year where they proved they were no fluke.  Now they are pissed about how last season ended.

I'm not overreacting to game 1.   I am using game 1 to support my previous assertions about who the Bills are and would be this season.  My opinion didn't change about them.  If it had, it could be an overreaction.  I figured they should be the odds on favorite in the AFC to go to the Super Bowl... and last night did nothing to change that opinion.

I am surprised he didn't come up limping after some of the hits he took last night.

That's such a contrived storyline. The 2003 Eagles were pissed how 2002 ended.  Teams are pissed how seasons end all the time. It doesn't matter. It's a new team the next year and new season and by the time it's over it's 4 months later.

ok.   And the 2004 team wasn't extra driven due to their continued failures in the NFC CG.  And the players themselves didn't talk about it, both leading up to the game and after it.  It played no part in their mentality going into that season.

Feeling that way doesn't assure success, but it absolutely can impact their preparation and drive.
