Way too many hits on him.  And teams are going to be taking shots at him week in and week out when he's running like that.  

 

And if they can't pass in the RZ... they are in big trouble.

The Eagles had a bottom 3 pass rush last season and only added Reddick. Of course it’s still bad. Had to listen to "HonestNFL” geek out for months about how the addition of Jordan Davis was going to vastly improve the pass rush. How’s that working out? They have no elite edge rushers. The pass rush won’t drastically improve until they do. It’s why all my top targets in the first round were all edge rushers.

It did work. That makes it a good decision. The D couldn't stop the Sisters of the Holy Mercy 50 year old and up team in the second half. Put it in the hands of the O, not the D. Simple decision.

DeVonta is a finesse, route running WR. He’d thrive in a progressive offense where the QB goes from read to read. He’s not an underneath, physical WR like Brown is which is why Brown will thrive in this offense. They are running this offense to fit the strengths of Hurts, but there is opportunity cost to that. It’s not sustainable, he’s probably going to end up getting killed like he almost did today, and it’s not conducive to having a continuously flowing offense that gets all of your receivers involved.

Analytics tell you to go for it...still doesn't change that Detroit gets the ball at the 40 with 20ish yards to go with no time outs if they fail.
