Those Charmin soft camps are great for keeping people healthy. But they come out.... You guessed it. Charmin soft.

Very true.

So, what you are saying is that Hurts and Burton are the same level of QB.    Actually, Burton's might have been more impressive considering the pressure of the moment (4th and goal), the opponent (Belicheat) and the stage (SB).   Hurts' throw was just a meaningless 1st down on a Sunday afternoon at 1 against the Lions.    Advantage: Burton.

You must have watched as much Pee Wee as I did back in the day to play connect the dots so well!

I’m not so sure I’m glad that they found a way to win, at this point. This team needs a wake up call. But they will probably get it next week

I'm not at the point where I want the team to lose to make changes.  I want to believe that this team/organization sees what Hurts is (and isn't), their interest in trading up in the draft last year, their interest in acquiring different vet QBs this past offseason... I have to believe that they don't see him as a long term solution.  When they drafted him, he was drafted as a backup QB and gadget player.  He's been thrust into a situation that they didn't foresee for him when he was selected.  He's done as well as anyone could hope given that as the starting point.

Let's just hope the Saints don't do what they did today any more.   I can't believe (I guess I can...) the Falcons dropped that game.

secondary was good in the 1st half.

2nd half very bad and most of that was targeting Maddox or TJ Edwards in coverage. Gigantic liability. Both of them.

I might have been dealing with some PTSD from the Saints going from their own 10 to FG position to win their game in about 18 seconds.

Coach speak, you could see coming out of half that Hurts wasn't given as much freedom at the LOS.

Weird seeing reagor wear teddy Bridgewaters old number

I think he has to say that.  Keep Hurts' trade value high for this upcoming offseason.  ;).

I hope...

Second half things got pretty ugly to be fair. Offense stalled and our defense was not good today.

So that means everything was on Hurts in this game

That's horrible

Never should be thrown the ball????

Never should be the first read

I don’t think Hurts was great today, but I think he was fine… for his standards it was probably one of his better games. Which can either be a negative or positive depending on your POV.

More concerned about the D because they have no shot to do anything this season if the D isn’t much improved. I suspect they’ll play better at home, but struggle to get pass rush much of the season.

Yup.  And at the goal line, they didn't give him a chance to throw at all.  The exception to that was the 2 minute drill... and he nearly flubbed it all up.

Do you know where you are?  That was a reasonable and measured post.

The O was stalled the entire game.  The D was always gonna be a problem.  Attack the inside, and you can win.

Yeah, totally unreasonable to ask that your QB not be the leading rusher on the team.

That two-minute drill was also the difference in the ball game.

We’re not good.

I predicted 13-4.

I may have been overly enthusiastic.

The scary territory that we are getting into with Hurts is that I don’t think he is the answer, but he’s not bad enough to move on from and the team is competitive with him. They are not going to win anything with this style of offense. But because he’s not bad enough to move on from, they’ll end up burning 3-4 years still trying to make it work with him. It’s basically the Andy Dalton Bengals all over again.

Nothing else matters if you don’t have the quarterback. And the sooner you can realize that and move onto trying to find the next guy the better. But they still have that contingency plan with the two draft picks and I think Howie knows that.

Can already smell the stink at the Linc next week

I really want to see that All 22...the route combo's made no sense, it's like they know Hurts can't see past the LOS/snap.

The defensive TD was the difference in the game.  Offense against offense 31-35, Lions.  Being given a short field thanks to the onsides kick was also a big deal.

In Baltimore it is.

Devonta Smith was a completely wasted first round pick for this offense.

A GM does need to consider these things when making draft picks and adding other players.
